When he, with eyes wide open, entered into an affair with a married man, Aaron's the one that got hurt? When he let his mother and Moira make him paranoid about Rebecca and decided to beat Kazim, Aaron was the one who got hurt? When he lied to Robert and told it was over, Aaron was the one who got hurt? When Gordon showed up and Aaron beat a man almost to death, Aaron was the one who got hurt? I could go on.... Seriously, Robert's done his fair share, but Aaron has been a brutal thug for years and continues to be when it suits him. I love Robron, but this idea that only Robert is the malevolent one is a tad disingenuous.
Jon in Canada Aaron saved Robert from cain beating him, yes he entered the affair but that doesn’t make roberts treatment of him okay (bringing up his self harm, Jackson, messing him about), yes Aaron got hurt when he beat up kasim up he went to prison and while it affected Robert too Aaron didn’t intend to hurt Robert. Yes Aaron can be violent but Robert can be manipulative, nothing against either character cause I love both but Aaron is act now think later which can cause unintentional damage while Robert manipulates and calculates, he emotionally hurts people because he can. Not saying Robert never got hurt in their relationship cause relationships don’t work like that, but Aaron has been through a lot in his life so of course his family will be more protective and wary of new boyfriends (especially murdering, gun wielding, manipulative, serial cheating ones) 🤷♀️

Tbf considering things Robert did can you blame them, the threats he made against leo and rhona, tying aaron to a radiator and pointing a gun at him etc, the way he treated aaron, he shot paddy and buried him in grain, he also killed chas best mate, and she doesn't know he considered braining her head in with a rock and put a hit on her, if anything they way too easy on the guy. Plus when did seem come round he cheated on aaron with the ex he was paranoid about while he was struggling behind bars in their home and bed and got her pregnant, not mention how he treated people before the affair with aaron/getting with aaron too. I mean chas also saw how robert and katie affair upset a lot of people, for robert to then go and ruin it all and have an affair and katie left the village for a bit heartbroken. Then causes her death. Which might reminded her of how she failed gennie too. Victoria and diane also not aware of things robert did and aaron covered up katie death and they just believed aaron, robert and chas lies about katie leaving andy and andy was just crazy. Would they be supportive if knew truth? But then again maybe diane and vic willing overlook certain things when come to both andy and robert
