  • Make certain you practice this BEFORE you drop out of a tall tree!
The rope can be immovable or " stuck" if it is a new rope so you will have to play with it to find the right amount of wraps to use.
If you break something on the first try then you'll know what I mean.

You could make a Prusik Knot and repel down at any speed. Us deer hunters use it to get down from tree stands or buy a Ropeman 1 Ascender for $45.00 and get all fancy. Many saddle hunters use these. I prefer the Ropeman 1 Ascender then a Prusik Knot. If you keep a long rope in your vehicle and you come across a accident where a car went down the side of a mountain you can repel down to off help. Now you do not hurt the tree at all. :)

WARNING!! Practice first. Some times you need 3 wraps and on other limbs all you need is 2 or 2 1/2. It means that you can go too fast or not at all. Both can hurt you.

Excellent training method. Simplify, illustrate clearly what to do and what not to do!
