- Can it be? It’s true… the Legendary Girl A, Konata Izumi, is here! Despite her lack of motivation and slow paced anime, Konata’s quite the athlete on her own. Bringing weapon to school her opponents in all things anime, manga, and gaming, she’s sure to be THE lucky star of the match!

OOOOOH RAOUGH SHE'S FINALLY HERE, the two most hyped characters revealed way back in the Update Patch are finally here!!!
Konata was nothing short of amazing, and bonus points for pumping this out on her birthday :3 But yeah I really appreciate how this set not only represented stuff Konata does, but also the overall pace of the anime as well as it's humour and gags. Everything was translated perfectly and the animation keeps getting better, only problem is the resampling that needs to be turned off for some animations.
Also don't tease me with the wholesome Miyuki interaction, I really thought you were going to reveal her as one of the Empty Slot winners right there and then 😭
There's always hope for when the results come out, which I'm very excited to see who'll win, there are some very good candidates I'd love to see you tackle
OH MY GOSH THIS IS SO GOOOOOODDD, your animation skills have skyrocketed! From literally the first jump Konata does I was so impressed, the lil landing animation where her hair fluffs out looked so pretty, but then you showed another great one much later with the King Koopa himself and that one was great too!
I really like the moveset itself too. It's simple but it each move has an extra application to it that feels a bit more helpful. I really love that Side B as well, the second you showed the first example I thought "mm, if only it had armor" and then you revealed the 3rd level to have just that! Her recovery is also probably my favorite move she has, just because I love recovery moves that actually have something more to it than just being a freeform recovery or only going in one direction. I love all the lil benefits each direction gives
The ending was also so good, all those characters lined up..I'm so curious who could have even won that Empty Slot, unlike Lawl Beatdown it feels like it still has so much to offer but the winners seem much easier to guess than here, considering it's got so many good options and this Lawl is still really growing currently. I'll be curious to see if anything actually does happen with Miyuki, cuz that ending clip really endeared me to her ;o;

What a great moveset. I admit Side Special did weird me out a bit at first due to how it took long time to set up, but it having armor frames as well as ability to store the full charge. Considering how iconic cheerleader Konata is, it also made perfect sense to represent it as Up Special, I really liked how it was demonstrated and how many different methods and directions there are to trigger it. Down Special was also hilarious, and good integration of a well-known moment into her moveset. Oh yeah and I know others said it but the animation was fantastic, even if the random outfit changes between moves were slightly jarring but I am willing to overlook it, makes the set feel like classic Lawl.
There's also her victories and taunts that are perfect representation of her, especially Timotei reference, which goes way way WAY back.
I admit the intro was a bit generic (it would've been nice to see how she ended up working with Jafar and Ganon out of nowhere, but that's just my lore-loving ass talking) but I loved the outro with Miyuki cameo and I am EXTREMELY hyped for the Empty Slot winner reveals.

even as someone who adores konata and lucky star as a whole i never expected konata to work so insanely well for a moveset!? im genuinely blown away!
right from the neutral special alone the amount of creativity poured into this set was astounding - the iconic chocolate cornet had to be involved in the moveset in some form, but never in a thousand years would i have thought of this implementation!! konata immitating the iconic hadoken is so onbrand for her, and the way you can switch between which way forward the head shoots out is such a perfect reference to the original conversation!
and that aint even all - the cheerleading taking the up special spot was a super creative use for it, including the manga store employees in down special was so unique and perfect cameos that i never expected??? and the silly way the explosion pops opponents into the air, god i love it.
even down to her taunts which are so iconic but still have so much love poured into them - like you could've simply had konata say her flat is justice speech and called it a day, but going further with the floating text appearing brings so much more life into it.
yeah this is far above anything i couldve asked for, im genuinely speechless. an easy favourite moveset from this lawl for me, and probably of all time too???? im just so happy to see my girl finally get the moveset she deserves!!
As a Lucky Star fanatic, I loved this take on Konata's moveset. While It got the typical use of the emblematic choco-cornet as an attack, as well as the obligatory street fighter reference, this moveset managed to surprise me with the inclusion of the Track and field gag and the implementation of her Legendary Girl A element into an explosive attack where the poor shoopkeepers explode in dissapointment over never managing to make a profit on Konata and increase their sales.
The animations were superb too, I like specially how smooth turned the animation of Konata throwing the Choco-cornet as a hadouken, as well as the Safe vor work version of Konata infamous Timotei reference ^^.
The only bit of criticism/feedback i have in respect for animations her normal running and jumping animation. I know that Lucky star doesn't have enough chase/running scenes, yet I like to provide to use the scene of the Lucky star episode 14 where Konata runs to hug a imaginary boyfriend as an alternative for running, and use one of the frames for the jump animation.
Overall, a pretty good adaptation of the koner. I hope Miyuki manages to get selected as Kona's echo fighter
Lawl MAD keeps having amazing movesets every time a new one releases, and this pattern continues with Konata here!
I'm not too knowledgeable about Lucky Star outside of YTPs, but I think this set captures Konata very well based on the clips I have seen from Lucky Star. I also like some of the choices for the moves, like the Side B being a reference to the track and field game Konata plays (which in turn is based on the track and field NES game made by Konami), and of course the Street Fighter II scene is a fitting choice for a Final Smash (I like the extra details of having that fight done in that game's style complete with the lifebars from that game showing up). Speaking of which, it's fitting how Konata has a hadouken type move as her Neutral B, and the Up B is a fitting way to implement aspects of the show's iconic opening sequence in there too. I really like how the Down B works, with the game store employees causing an explosion, but the explosion causes opponents to be stuck in midair instead of knocking them back, giving Konata a chance to pull off some unique combos.
The animation was amazing as always, and Konata's animations really stand out by showing how energetic she can be (particularly with animations like the jumping animation and the Up B). Plus, King Koopa's new regulars were all amazing to see, as were the taunts and victories for Konata (and unlike Shredder, Konata has a bit more respect for King Koopa's Goomba cameramen when losing a match heh).
Looking forward to how the Empty Slot results play out, as well as Leo and the Kill Me Baby duo and the other things Lawl MAD has in store for the future!

Looking back, Konata's first moveset, even with the fixed Final Smash, has aged rather poorly. Moves that were too brief or unfitting, the moveset feeling like it it only pulled stuff from the first few episodes, a busted healing move, etc. Yet here, you have her properly represented.
I like how Konata seems like a simple character at first glance, but has several secrets up her lazy sleeve. Side and Down B are really great moves that change depending what you choose, and represent aspects of her personality. Up B is a good move that has good air recoveries for every direction, and the Final Smash was awesome as it was hilarious. The animation continues to improve with each succeeding moveset, and the stage you picked is a good one.
Can't wait to Finally see the Empty Slot Results, especially since it seems like you have a lot of characters planned. Rooting for Sir Topham Hatt, but also hyped for Miyuki and several others.

This was a pretty nice moveset! I’m not very familiar with Konata’s source but I still enjoyed this set. I particularly enjoyed all of the secondary properties and abilities that can be done with every special move, with the Neutral and Down Specials being my favorites, with the former having a cool gimmick on which version of the projectile is better to chuck out for the situation, and the latter especially because of how funny and unique it is. Of course the Side and Up Specials are very interesting looking movement options that tie into Konata’s Hit and Run playstyle fairly well. And the Final Smash was translated from the inspiration very nicely as well. The rest of the set kept me hooked even with my lack of knowledge on the character, and overall I definitely enjoyed this set.
I’m SUPER hyped to see the empty slot results… best of luck to your future projects and the characters I voted…

I don't know much about Konata or the anime she comes from, but she seems really fun to play as. The moves are simple but executed in a way that was interesting, making them not feel generic. The Down B specially was really fun to see and feels equally as fun to use. Looking forward for the next one!

Well now this is a great set, I'm not really familiar with the source but still, Konata looks super fun, her playstyle is one I usually go for, so it isn't too surprising, the spriting as well is top notch this episode as well. I'm excited to see who won the empty slot as well.

Jokes aside though, you've *really* done her justice. Not to name anyone, but previous Konata movesets all have a flaw that they tend to base it on the slow yet whimsical nature of the show and ignore her actual personality, but this strikes a balance between Konata's dorky and easily excited self with the exaggerated slice-of-life gags.
Despite the straightforward moves, they all come with their own small gimmick that can be utilized extensively, which ties into how Konata uses her Otaku lifestyle to her advantage whenever she can.
Aside from that, there's a lot of love put into both this moveset and the rest of the Lawl, like how smoothly animated the set is as usual, how the moves' functionality themselves came from what's considerably throwaway gags to newcomers and outsiders that makes them more unpredictable, and the -already revealed- Lucky Channel stage that not only fit the series to a T but also looks neat.

What happens if the Final Smash grab is activated in mid-air and doesn’t connect? Does it end after a specific range or does she Critical Hit dash until she dies to the side blast zone

First All Star Smashers had its 10 year anniversary, and now Konata has finally arrived after you bamboozled us on Halloween! Of the four newcomers you revealed in the Update Patch, she was definitely my most hyped, mainly because I love me some anime, and I think Lucky Star's an alright show, even though some people don't seem to like it for some reason. But anyway, you still didn't disappoint with her moveset. All her moves were very fun and chaotic, especially the Down B. No offence to my boy, Agito90, but your moveset for the Haruhi Superfan was definitely better than the original, and I'm curious about what you're gonna do with Leo. And seeing Miyuki at the end is still making me hopeful that we'll get Kagami and Tsukasa in the future too. And I am excited for the Empty Slot results. I'm still pulling for a Seth Rogen victory, even though I don't think it's gonna happen.
