She dropped out of school and decided to spend some time in Hell (with Ayda making another connection between there and Leviathan) but is also planning on spending some time at Seacaster Manor once Hallariel and Gilear's kid is born. Arthur visited her in Hell and said he respected her decision but told her that there's a bunch of automatons coming after her for being a truant and he can't stop it. Ayda gave a very sweet speech about how learning is a great pursuit and it doesn't belong solely to academia so she wouldn't dare think less of Fig and muses that it'd be nice to have a paramour who also works full time. Fig mentions that she was staying in school to be with her friends but she doesn't think she needs school to stay friends with them.
It honestly was set up in such a way that Emily could bring Fig back or retire her. A lot will probably depend on what Emily wants to do and the story being told. I personally think the stuff with Sandra Lynn means there's decent odds she plays Fig again (I also selfishly want more Fig so take that with a grain of salt). I fully expect to see Fig in some capacity in a Senior Year but whether that will be Emily's primary character is very much up in the air. I trust her either way and we probably won't have a confirmed answer until years from now as per an interview from Brennan there's currrently no discussion about returning to Spyre.

Emily said she wasn't planning on playing Fig this season, but Brennan convinced her, so I fully expect her to not return next season since THAT whole thing is done
@@awkner Yeah I think she was happy to leave her with a happy ending at the end of sophomore year, but I'm not as confident she stayed that way playing her this year. During the aftermath of the whole Ayda message from the stars it looked like Emily legit was torn on what she wanted to do. I feel like she ultimately left herself an opening to go either way with it. I certainly wouldn't be surprised if she retired Fig except for a minor appearance in senior year but I also wouldn't be surprised if she brings Fig back especially if the story is over a focused shorter time like sophomore year.
I think if she was gonna fully commit to not bringing her back, I think she would've made different comments there near the end. I'll admit my own bias on what I want but she left Fig accessible enough that she could participate if needed.
