How Much is My Grandma's GOLD Tooth Worth? Gold Appraisal
Vložit
- čas přidán 6. 09. 2024
- In this video I take my grandma's gold tooth to the coin shop for an appraisal. I also brought some gold shot, a gold chain, and a small gold coin to the coin shop for appraisal. How much is this gold tooth worth? I was able to get a price on the gold tooth, the gold shot, and the gold coin. The gold chain ended up being a fake gold chain. In this video we talk about the value of gold coins, and other gold items. Gold chains and other gold jewelry is considered scrap gold. Scrap gold is usually bought below the melt value of gold and is then sold to a refiner. When it comes to gold shot is in not labeled and hard to verify the purity so gold shot is not advised for stacking or gold investing. If you want to invest in gold I recommend buying gold coins and gold bars. Below are the other videos filmed at Harry's Coin Shop:

Harry's attitude is always sharp. "I have a show here everyday."
best merchant in the Imperial City for sure
I can't recall seeing four guys as knowledgeable and pleasant to watch as these four - Harry, Richard, Adrian, and Brandon! Thanks Silver Dragons for your videos with them - they are always informative and have a great sense of humor.
Please keep up the great work! :)
I’m a dentist, and WOW Harry knows his stuff. Gold alloys used in crowns in dentistry are made of Gold, Silver, Platinum, and Palladium in small quantities. We get orders for Gold Grills and Crowns a lot, guess people really love their gold. Haha
Yup and I have a few dentists selling me their extractions.😂
Having gold fillings, allow you to take it with you😈
@@RectifiedMetals Hahaha yess. I have a pretty big collection myself. Teeth with Direct filled gold, some crowns. Unfortunately with the takeover of Base Metal alloys, gold is used much lesser than it used to be.
I had a root canal and requested a gold crown about 6 months ago. The dental assistant said the older gold crowns are worth more than the modern ones. Any idea why?
Never seen a dentist that wears a stethoscope but okay haha
If these gentleman had their own weekly show on a streaming network (in addition to CZcams), I would watch it every week. These guys are a class act.
Grandchildren have been eyeballing my gold tooth for years! LOL
It's probably barely worth 200 bucks in gold lol
@@Iburn247 Right? At least I'm not Chinese and they're not eyeballing my kidneys for 20k! Lol
That was a lot of fun to watch. A few years ago I sold a gold watch case. It was 18K gold and while you don't get great returns on this stuff due to the processing I was able to use the proceeds and buy actual recognisable gold with it. Thanks, SD!
Love the Harry's Coin Shop videos! Harry and staff are so knowledgable and honest.
Your acid test demonstrated to me that I got royally ripped off by an extremely popular and very well know big coin and jewelry store here in Saint Louis Missouri. I wish I had known how the test worked back then and glad to get some insight now.
Have a feeling I know which one. Bummer man.
Name it. Keep from others getting ripped off.
@@joshuagibson2520yea I agree. People should call out individuals and businesses who partake in fraud
You should def name names. You might help someone else out...
Should rename this channel to Harry’s dragons.
Great Vid!!!! I've said it before I wish I could visit his shop!! I could stay for hours swapping stories. Those guys are very knowledgeable and friendly!! That's hard to find these days.
Adrian is right. Random gold bars at least on MM are 1983 and the .999 gold 1 oz shot is 1986. But if you ever had to sell the random bars or a gold maple at 1999 .. just pay the extra 15$ for something a coin or pawn shop will recognize...
The operating instructions of an acid test also say that you should wait a few minutes before reading. The gold is supposed to prove resistance to the acid over a certain period of time.
Thanks for posting SD’s!! I love this coin shop team! I wish they were in Houston, close to me!
Very informative video and great teaching lessons.
Three hundred dollars for the KEE tester really isn't bad. How cool. What a great tip.
Just bought my first 3 oz of Silver yesterday and subscribed to you today. Thank you for the helpful content!
I missed long beach; I hope they will be at the next LB show.
Learn something from these guys every video.
😂 “Straight from the dentist was rough” 😂
That was fun and educational! 👍
I think Harry is better than a show. He is a show!
What a strange object -- a gold crown. Big sigh from me. But the information was interesting. Always great to see Harry, Adrian, and Richard! Thank you Silver Dragons.
Always enjoy you visiting Harry's coinshop with the gang. I would love to visit there sometime! God bless!
I found a 3ft gold chain metal detecting, and you can smell the copper. It's stamped 10k on both ends, but when checked by a jeweler, it's a fake.
Often times 10kt will not pass on the clasps. You have to check the chain itself. Sometimes a magnet will even stick in the clasp. It still may very well be 10kt but I’ve seen this happen and one place won’t take it and the other places who are educated on this fact will.
Again, what a great visit to Harry's. Thank you for the education and entertainment. Thank you very much.
This video may my most favorite one yet. Harry and crew are very informative.
By the way, I love the Long Beach Coin Expo show which occurs 3 times per year. It is not my experience that the dealers have been overly expensive. I’ve gotten some great coins at great deals. Something for every collector, and every budget.
Tooth gold is scratching the bottom of the bucket.
Good place to hide your gold except from the undertaker.
That’s where some people are living today! Look at the rise in homelessness.
Gold is gold.😅
In NY tooth extractions are considered toxic waste and confiscated, I mean taken away as waste. After my surgery it was gone and I had it in writing that it was to be returned to me. Nice huh..
This has become one of my favorite channels, keep up the great work! 💪😎👍🇺🇸💰🙏
I'd pay Harry to educate me! He really is a PROFESSIONAL!
That tail kid is very smart, just would suggest keeping his hair tidy, take judgment by look out of to question, shake hands with a firm hand and look them in the eye. Honestly respect him, we all have room for improvement. Richard is a great person all in all. Want him to do well!😍
Total fun... Thanks.
These videos are among the best in the Internet because they provide so much useful information. The gold bar story is interesting because there is a current video from a Portland, OR coin shop where a young woman brought in two gold bars. Those were not only too thick, they would not pass a Sigma test. When they told her they wanted to notify police, she booked with only one of the bars. As I recall, those bars were in plastic on cardboard and were supposed to have come from a large online dealer.
Can't wait to see Harry's shop in person one day!
Thanks for posting this video about random jewelry. I also have a tooth and some random jewelry to appraise, so now I know a few things before walking into the jewelry or coin shop.
That was a super fun and informative video. Really enjoyed the diversity of objects and learning about the acid and key machine. You guys are always so great at teaching this community!!!!.🎉❤
Man I am really liking these guys. Teaching a new collector alot of stuff. Thanks from NC.
Anyone remember that Raising hope episode? 🤣🤣
"you're gonna need a slotted spoon"
If you’re looking for something hard to find that coin show is a must.
I feel like these guys are family!
Thanks S Dragon!
Acid testing is always the best fail safe in my humble opinion. I use it everyday. Also, the Key tester is a great tool to be used if afforded.
I just really like and respect these gentlemen. I do plan on calling them and possibly doing business with them when I go to sell in the next couple years. I'm 62 and gonna start liquidating gradually when I turn 65.
I would have to agree with Harry about the Coin Shows.
Grandma Dragon ! LOL
Thanks for sharing. 😀
Been waiting for another Harry’s Coin Shop video!
True gentlemen here!❤
Very educational. Most helpful. Thanking all of you for a great video!
It was great meeting Adrian and Richard. They were great. Thanks for the picture. The Long Beach Expo was great. I spent the whole day there. I wish I could get Oregon prices in California!!!!
I am new to all this but I absolutely LOVE the honesty of this channel.
I have been binging on these videos and really appreciate the knowledge I've gained. King Richard is a beast and I could listen to him all day. Adrian and Harry are also quite interesting and informative. Kudos to the security guy too! Nice catch! I actually went out today and purchased (10) 2011 Silver Eagles at $27.25 each. I hope to add more to the stack soon! Thank you Silver Dragons!
Hey SD, sure would be cool to see you join Richard and Adrian one day on whatnot doing some auctions. They put on an amazing stream. There's actually alot of people on there who agree seeing you with them would be cool.
Thanks I have an old crown it cost me over 500 and lasted me over 10 years
Very knowledgeable coin shop
Pretty cool Harry and crew is camrea friendly and gives out great information. I'd definitely buy from Harry & crew because he seems like a honest seller.
Your video's are always awesome. I love HARRY and his crew. There ALWAYS so HONEST.❤️
Coin shows best place to find good stuff for deals, like proof or graded gold for spot prices. Can’t get coin shops to budge on premiums.
Thanks for the education! Always good to be as knowledgeable as you can be.
Grandma dragon 🐲 liked this video learned about what not to do when you are selling gold shot 😅
I really enjoy these guys. Thanks for all your videos with Harry and the Gang.
I thought that was funny that the guy that picked up on the gal with the fake Gold was ISN'T HE YOUR SECURITY REPRESENTATIVE. GREAT JOB BRANDON!
Found a gold dental crown that was stuck in a shipping envelope from a coin order. I put the envelope in a shredder and it jammed. When I pulled out the envelope, a small yellow object was stuck in the wheels. Had to destroy the shredder to get it out. Sold it for $53 to precious metals dealer. At least it covered the cost of another shredder.
You're the man, Harry! A true OG!
Priceless. Zero amount of fiat currency. Beyond value. Keep it.
i imagine the KEE would pay for itself the 1st time it finds a fake you were going to pay for as a real piece
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with a wedding band callous...Harry. :) Always good to see you all. You make me want to open my own coin shop!
Great video silver dragon, love the Harry's coin shop videos 🪙 best of wishes from Mexico 🤙
Ive been to 1 small coin show i never made it past the 2nd table couldnt imagine a big show
That was a lot of fun, learning about how different forms of Gold are valued, and how the shops have to be careful of questionable characters looking to dupe them. Thanks Harry, and thanks Dragons.
Mans was about to cry at the end man I would too that’s ridiculous!
Just talled with Harry today who passed some info from Adrian. I found some Libertads at a great price from a different shop and Harry was so kind to let me know what the resale would be to verify the price i was paying
I have never found show prices to be higher ever , always got deals at them cause you can play a guys price against another’s easily at them
California has some great shows, I wouldn't want to pay California tax
SD has been "giving away that monster box" for a long time now.
And it’s advertised on multiple CZcams channels.
Scam
It’s because it’s an annual giveaway. Maybe check out the competition details and you can feel happier knowing they draw the winner after the year concludes 😊
This channel is amazing. Great information.
I had no idea this shop was in Portland. Will be stopping by someday!
Thanks Dragon, Harry and the Guys seem like really good people!! I really enjoy the interactions, these guys are legit!! There is still hope for the future!!
I’m wondering if you have a gold bar that’s stamped have proof of purchase and a picture of it does it then become traceable and or insurable provided of course that it’s hasn’t been melted. My second question is about titanium. Not that I wanna get rid of it but my hip happens to be titanium. there about 4 pounds of titanium and one artificial hip. Does this have actual retail value?
I'm kicking myself still for not getting gold crowns when I got 4 done in 2004 when gold was only $400 and they make much better crowns. Fortunately, I did buy a lot of coins back then.
Love that fractional buffalo! Very nice.
Harry Kraus!!! Ive always thought that you look like my dad Norman Krauss.
Harry’s Coin Shop
Beaverton, Oregon
Interesting. My father in law and brother in law are dentists and orthodontists. They say dental gold is usually 18k+.
Yup
Maybe that lady is the same one that tried to pass off some fake bars to Portland coin and precious metals... They have a video of her.
Adrian, I got the 1873 Trade Dollar. Very nice coin. Thank you! Rick
Remember in Les Miserables when the crooked guy is in the sewers under Paris, he yanks a gold tooth out of a dead body and says "wouldn't want to waste it, that would surely be a crime!" Hahaha
Harry seems trustworthy and a really nice guy. He also looks like Bobby Davro's long lost brother😂😂😂
Great video. This answers my question about shot.
20:00 Now I understand the origins of the expression "let's give it the acid test."
a 1899 double eagle just sold for $468.000. It was said to be better then the one in the Smithsonian. WOW. The shop vids are really cool! Richard spots them quick!
Good show keep it up
This really shows unless you're dealing with a highly reputable dealer, it would be wise to find someone who's knowledgeable about gold when your making a purchase to be with you. It's also interesting how the team at Harry's pool their knowledge to not get taken. But I also get a sense that "the team" really strives to honest in their dealings, which is very rare in today's society.
Saw recently on YT shorts a heavly plated Gold Eagle that had been passed off, so there are extremely good fakes out there.
That is a great video, my friend I watched most of it
More from Harry's coin shop!
Just goes to show you that experience means a lot😊
Pretty good episode...quite interesting...I always learn something from these knowledgeable people! THANK YOU for the upload!
Ive been following you alot on my tv. Subscribed today!
Damn i think that new guy in the shop is so good. He has alot of wisdom and hes cool af. Best!
Great customer education
Nice video today and interesting topic! Nice bunch of guys at the shop today.
Gday do you chaps send orders to Australia. I’m after Silver Eagles to go with my stacking collection. I proudly have over 5000 ounces of silver. And yes Perth Mint in my opinion makes the best and always every item that goes out the Perth mints doors. You can always be 100% confident to get the best quality.🇦🇺👍❤️
That was cool to see the process with the acids lol
Great show guys. Harry I love your shop and your knowledge about purchasing and selling.
Thanks for the information always learn something new from your channel and Harry
I like these men
