Today’s episode is about the Voice Recognition module v3.1. In this episode, you will learn how to train your voice Recognition module using different languages, and you will also learn how to delete a voice command and replace It with another voice command. In this tutorial, we will cover all the basics. In my upcoming tutorials, I will be using the same voice recognition module for controlling a wheelchair, Home appliances and so on. So make sure you subscribe right now so that you never miss any of my upcoming tutorials. This is the best speech recognition module and can be easily used with Arduino and mega. Voice recognition module v3.1 can be used with Arduino to control anything you want.
Let’s get started
The components that we will be needing are
1. Voice recognition Module V3.1
2. Arduino
3. Male to female type jumper wires
4. Led’s
5. 330 resistors and finally
6. A breadboard.
These components can be purchased from Amazon, the components purchase links are given in the description.
This is the voice recognition module V3.1 and on this side you can see we have Gnd, vcc, Rxd, and Txd. We will solder these male headers over here so that it can be easily interfaced with Arduino. over here we can connect a mic which can be easily plugged in….now let’s solder the male headers… now this module is ready for the interfacing….
This latest and best speech recognition module and can be used in a lot of projects for controlling wheelchairs, home appliances, robot and so on.

When I connect the VCC pin and the GND pin, why doesn't the voice recognition module light turn on?
Does it make a difference if i am using the geeetech voice recognition device? and ive gotten it uploaded....pin 3&2 dont do anything. why not Tx & Rx? last question when i have it plugged into 3&2 i get "check system settings error or timeout" when its plugged into Rx&Tx it does nothing at all.

Hi! Thanks for your Tutorial. After train the module (load command), and then use external power supply on arduino. why v3 module led not blinking anymore? Is it possible not to train (twice), or how do you enable auto load (train) the module? thank you ;)
the data sheet says this can store 80 commands and only 7 can be used at a time. does this mean that i can say any string of commands 7 commands long from the set of 80 and they will work???

I have been trying to do the way it is shown in the video but there are errors coming again and again
while writting settings in the serial Monitor window is shows "Check system settings error or timeout
" and when typing "sigtrain 0 On" it says "Train with signature failed or timeout.

Did you fix it? Check your soldering and check if the correct wires are connected.

Could you please tell me one thing, after installing all command, in serial monitor It showing that continuously recognize my last voice command either I speech the last command or not?
check your programming once again, may be you are missing something. Compare your program with the one i explained.

Hi! Thanks for your Tutorial, works fine for me! Today I tried to train my module with navigation commands directly from google maps (on iPhone). I connected the devices by 3.5 plug but it was difficult to train the commands. After training the detection was poor (i tried 10times and it detected it just 2 times...) did i forget something? Do i have to convert the signal or something. Sometimes connectors im 3.5mm plugs are twisted... but then it would not work at any time but it does sometimes. Thanks in advance! Dan

You can replace these commands. No need to deleted or clear. I have explained this method.

Hi! Thanks for sharing your project! I'm having trouble loading the comands... I train them, get succesful message and all, but when I try to load them, it shows that "Record already in recognizer", but when I use VR, it shows that none of them are loaded... Can you help me? 😅

What is the max capacity of this device?I mean how far distance it can listen the orders?
It can store 80 instructions, recognition distance is not specified.
You can try another " speech recognition module DM50A", which can store 50 instructions ，The recognition distance can reach 8 meters.

Guys, if you're using this on the Arduino Uno, change the pins tx=2 and rx=3. The comments on the code are wrong, at least for the Uno.

hello I want to ask something, as we know that "voice recognition module" and "speech recognition module" have a different ability. speech recognition modul can recognize "word" and voice recognition module can recognize "voice" . so can this module distinguish my voice from others? how to train it? thank you. i really hope that u can help me to answer this question :))

Is this speaker dependent or not? Can it be work for other people's voice whith same command? Or just for one speaker
yes it can work, if words are correctly pronounced.

Check if it works. Make sure you record the commands in a noise free room.
Sir is it oke to use much cheap one which is the same voice module but its version is 1.0..i saw it in flipkart i want to use it as its much cheaper
This one is indeed quite expensive. I recommend a cheaper one, the "Speech Recognition Module DM50A", which has similar functions and is more convenient to operate.
Are you using any program on pc helping you in this project?

You should connect TX of module to pin 0 on arduino and rx of the module to pin 1 on arduino

error time out, is usually when you don't record the command within the specified time.
avoid delays while recording your voice command. and also make sure there is no noise.

watch this video completely and follow each and every step. Its very simple. use the same library which i am using, the link is available in the description. and also double check your wiring.

i have never used it with arduino micro , thats why i have now idea.
you are the only person which is getting error. all the other guys did it successfully, i think you should first use it with arduino uno. then you can try using it with arduino micro.

You are not using autoLoad command. How will this work with a wheelchair without loading records everytime you switch on the motors?
i have controlled leds, which means i can control anything.

and also i want to ask something about this module. i've made a code to control servo and it works perfectly when it's plugged in to my computer, but when I tested it with a 9V battery to power the arduino (the arduino isn't plugged in to the computer), the code didn't run at all. It seems like the arduino didn't recognize the library of my voice. Are there some functions that I miss that caused this problem? thank you

This voice recognition module able to differentiate male and female voice?
its a voice recognition module.. not exactly but you can define which is the female sound and which is the male sound.
How we can define , if I record one female voice and after that same word repeated by male ...then its take as a sound not as a male voice isn't ? at the same time same word repeated by male and female then how this module recognition ?

ya but you can use different signatures... and you know male and female sounds are different... it can recognize. give it a try.
watch this tutorial completely... and watch carefully when i talk about the record numbers and signatures.

Use the correct library and check if you can compile the program.
Actually I just figured it out. Had to unplug Rx & Tx. Not sure why he didn’t have to. I have seen other people say you have to unplug those two while uploading and it worked for me.
Yes you have to unplug. if you are using the arduinos default serial port.
