      Higher 'social intelligence' when young, also, they are not stuck in front of phones and computer screens either (which results in both men and women, mostly men) completely losing all sense of social intelligence, heck, most can no longer interact in any natural unforced way anymore. It's a massive problem in the west, also not good for the two sexes when they are to 'interact' etc. It's not good, so to see this young couple being so aware if you will, gives me some hope for the future.

    I feel absolutely awful for the sister who wants to be an astronaut. The way her other two sisters side-eyed her & each other was just cruel, & you could tell that the sister could feel it happening. They showed her no support, only the attempt to repress ridicule as they were all on camera. She looked so uncomfortable after. I hope you get to the moon. I hope your dream comes true.

    I spent about 20 years training ballroom dancing, I was quite successful as a dancer, later as a coach and a choreographer. I had to quit due to multiple knee injuries. I have worked as a compere at competitions for years and at present I am trying to "come out of retirement" and re-train as a swing dancer. I must say that I have a lot of doubts regarding the children's adult costumes, make-up and moves, all of which are omnipresent in the mainstream ballroom dancing.

    Why do children have to "do things 100%"? Why can't we remove that pressure & let them enjoy it? Passion is crushed that way. Eventually, over time, it will be crushing. Even if they become the best, they will never feel good enough. Look at how many children that are deemed brilliant in school suffer later in life. I was one of those children, & the pressure nearly killed me. However, I am genuinely passionate about academics, now pursuing a PhD in Anthropology. If I didn't have this passion, the pressure would definitely have killed me.

    • @saarxddd
      @saarxddd Před 7 měsíci

      This! Of course some friction and tension creates a want to strive further, but these children are pushed beyond what's healthy for their body. The amount of stress used in that little body for not only physical but also mental abilities to get through this is insane, and I believe people aren't educated well enough about the toll it takes. People doing stuff like this retire ridiculously early.

    • @ocodeskamcdbsm
      @ocodeskamcdbsm Před rokem +9

      Sadly, what you said is very true. The majority of dancing, costs a fortune and that's before you add in competitions. I asked an adjudicator once, why couldn't they put a limit on the costs associated with completions and he couldn't answer it. Now it wasn't ballroom dancing but Irish dancing. My friend did say that they prefer, when competitors wear more toned down uniforms but that the really over the top dresses/uniforms catch the judges eyes before the toned down dresses and I think it's the same with ballroom dancing. The more over the top the dress, suit, the more likely the judge will take notice, will see you. Because there are so much in demand, dress makers can charge whatever they want. They really do take advantage of the market. They charge thousands for something that only costs a fraction of this for the material and time spent making the outfit. I know a dressmaker who designs and makes so many different types of dresses, suits but never charges an exorbitant amount of money. She turns away a lot of business because it's not her main income anymore and just does it as a side gig purely for the love of creating personal designs. She made the dresses for an entire wedding party once, bride and 3 bridesmaids but the bride added a 4tj bridesmaids dress last minute that my friend Just didn't have time to do so the bride went to another dress maker to get that 1 bridesmaids dress maid and that 1 dress coat the same of the other 3 bridesmaids dresses combined. Before the 4th bridesmaid dress was added, the 4 dresses coat less than going out to buy a dress but adding in the extra dress meant it would have been cheaper to buy the dresses. Because the other dress maker new it was last minute and you couldn't buy this dress anywhere, she charged whatever she wanted. People, sadly take advantage of others. Competition entrance fees are the less expensive part of the competition. The high cost of dresses and suits is making parents take out loans to pay for it, which is really tough. Having 1 child doing dance is expensive but having more than 1 child is unreachable for most and most parents won't let one dance and not the other as it's unfair so both miss out. Dance studios could also help out by not charging so much and having personal dressmakers on their books but, the majority won't .

Like she's been told she's the best and that's what her self worth is linked to. Look at the way she shuts down Max when he tells her they're 3rd not 2nd. I do dance and I'm no were near the best but it took a few years to get the improvement trophy at the concert and it felt good that my teachers saw my improvements, so even if it took a few years it was the hard work and determination that made me feel good and inspired me more to be even better for myself as the years come by.

      I do get the idea of pedophiles..but they can be everywhere. You must train your kids early and have that talk with them about pedophiles and situations that can make them feel uncomfortable. Mostly that they don't feel afraid to come forward and tell someone if they feel scared or uncomfortable in anything. I grew up in a dance studio in Chicago IL. My dad owned it for about 20 years. I never once had any man or woman make me feel uncomfortable. They were all into themselves and their dancing. But theses days with all the new trends of popular sexual ways of life it is not safe..sad to say. Train your kids early. I had the talk with both of my kids at age 5 and then kept repeating myself as they got older but advanced the conversation.

    Why this is a shocking? When you have intense competition you're going to hurt feelings. Sometimes people will do much not be second place and feel like a loser. Literally every over achiever I knew in high school and Uni was an a-hole, but that's from my POV. From their POV they were they wanted to be the best.

      I say healthy, what's disturbing is sex 'education' for four year olds in American schools, children taught they can chose their sex, children being medicated and later mutilated doing irreversible damage, and of course, baby boys being mutilated when born. In fact, all of that is far more than disturbing, it's a nation suffering from collective mental i**ness.

  • @dorisschneider-coutandin9965

    Sorry, but no. While I like dancing and I think more young people should be encouraged to go out and do some form of dancing, I am heavily against competing at such a young age, with heavy make-up, glittering costumes, and fake tan. It also gives vibes of over-zealous mothers and fathers, not unlike American Beauty Peagants or Figure Ice Skating.

      what a creepy thing to say. 😳 since when is ballroom dancing about what body parts they do or don’t have instead of the actual dance. and two little girls dancing together is not ridiculous, it doesn’t mean they are gay or whatever you’re suggesting, they’re little girls it doesn’t mean anything. stop sexualizing children.

  • @slimgrowden
    @slimgrowden Před 6 měsíci +5

    I think Olivia has a promising future! She never created a single excuse as to why they placed the why they did. Yet her partner has loads of reasons and gets a bit chippy for not being first! Yes their are judges that are going to be more critical. But I can promise you they will only become more critical the older you get with way more competition. I Wrestled for 17 years nonstop on every level imaginable in 3 different types of Wrestling freestyle, collegiate, and Greco Roman. I learned before I was 10 that if I want to win I had to train harder practice more than anyone I was going to wrestle. So that when I Wrestle at the end of wrestling match their was absolutely no question who won! And with what ever free time I had I would go and record all of our rival matches to study them! As well as every referee that could be potentially refining me. Each referee and judge are different but I had all of their differences memorized each year. So I guess what I am saying is the better you are the less you have to worry about the judges. And the more times you have to only concentrate on your dancing. Great job to them all regardless of their place and performance.
