The Spider-Verse franchise is proof that we are not tired of superhero movies, we are tired of bad superhero movies.
Agreed, I’m not tired of superhero movies, especially Spider-Man movies, but I am tired of Spider-Man movies who run on the fundamental belief that Spider-Man can’t be Spider-Man unless he is also the poster boy for depression meds, which is why I really hope Miles can prove that the Canon Theory is not real.
It and Guardians 3 coming out within months of each other and both being raving successes says a ton about the rest of the superhero stuff.
Exactly! Lately, many were spreading the thought of superhero fatigue, and I didn’t _completely_ agree, solely because not every superhero movie has been bad. I think that started with Phase 4 of the MCU, and while we’ve had some mid-awful ones, not everything was garbage (No Way Home and Guardians 3 were some of the best recent MCU movies, even when the former was fan service without much consistency). Many other productions have shown to be better than the MCU with superhero movies, primarily because lots of them have had better writing and more ambitious storytelling that entices the audience more. Plus, most of them show that you can still represent a lot of people of different traits (like nationalities, genders, and romantic interests), as long as you make sure the story exists to tell more about the character rather than just one or more of those traits and that you showcase those traits appropriately (not in some stereotypical, non-comedic and blatantly sexist way like She-Hulk).
@@t-rexcellentreviews1663One of the reasons I'm pissed at the writers for MCU Spidey, they basically gave in to fan demand
@@royolaniye6643you mean the fan demand that he has to be bullied and miserable in every movie he’s in, yeah, I agree mate, we really didn’t need Aunt May dying in No Way Home, he already lost Tony and Uncle Ben.
fun fact: the lego scene was actually animated by a 14 year old boy who caught the attention of the filmmakers after he reanimated one of the spider-verse trailers with legos
In my mind, the LEGO scene is in the same world as The LEGO Movies. Lord and Miller did that one too, and LEGO Spider-Man speaks sounds just like in those movies!
Bro.
The only fun fact anyone knows about the movie 😭
@@DCComicsGamerSame!
@DCComicsGamer but the universe number matches with the LEGO games
I adore how Miles sees Hobie as having a crush on Gwen but really it's most likely that Hobie has any given number of a half dozen people who need a place to crash rotating through his home. He looks out for people, he wants to help, of COURSE he'll let you crash and leave your stuff at his place for if you need it again. It's what any good Punk would do!
It’s very punk to take care of your friends
Ya not like Gwen could of went back after the whole you think your father wants to charge you with murder of your best friend.
@@nr6916and Even more Punk to fight your own canon!
I think as soon as Miles got to know Hobie he realized that he wasn't competition lmao😂
hell yeah! as long as our friends aren’t cops, feds, or just people we don’t fuck with, we look after them. we make sure they’re alright before we make sure we’re alright. the more the merrier
Fun fact: Hobie only had around 4 minutes of screentime in this movie yet he is an absolute fan favorite character. He's just the GOAT.
He absolutely adores Miles, prob from Gwen's stories about him, even when Miles kinda hated Hobie at first and get jealous over the fact that Gwen stayed at Hobie's. He's actually based af lmao, saying he don't believe in comedy and then proceed to made everyone laughing their ass out with every of his sentence 💀
@Agent_Alpha
Plus, he is the only one who actually respects Miles and treats his as equal. While others sees him as kid or anomaly. And was on his side the whole time, like giving him clues and trying to prevent him from meeting Miguel bs he knew shit was going down and reminded him to use palms to escape.
Sorry for my garbage English
He also has a different animation style every time he appears
@@terra4822 If you think about it all he does is to help people. First thing he does is give Miles tips on using the palms, Gwen staying at his place? Sure it can be questionable but she's essentially homeless remember.
When Miles saves the people of Mumbattan he's the one to hype him up afterwards.
During the time in the Spider Society he's giving Miles good life advice on knowing what he fights for before getting deep, checking to see if he has a good homelife, calls out Miguel on his BS and finally reminds him about the palms when he's locked up.
Not to mention everything he does to help Gwen afterwards.
man stole all of that shit just to make his own watch, he's the best
I think that Spider-Verse finally managed to make some people start to realize that animation is an almost limitless art form that can do so much if you can only think of it. This movie absolutely wouldn't work in live action, and if it did, it wouldn't be half as effective or visually interesting. This is basically art at its purest.
That’s something I said about the Sonic films and the Mario movie. To me, the Sonic films would’ve been better received had they been fully animated like the Mario movie, which performed very well because it was able to accomplish things that live action couldn’t. Not to say that the Sonic films are doing bad, but they could’ve been better with animation alone.
i loved all the seizures it gave with the constant flashing of kaleidoscopic images in every other scene.
knock knock hi, anime rang that bell decades ago
@@BobRooney290 Only an idiot would watch a movie without checking for photosensitivity if they have epilepsy, but go off man.
I also agree that it wouldn't work in live action purely bcz of the swinging scenes and fast paced action
In the first movie, they actually teased that Miles was originally supposed to be the Prowler in his universe. When he first met his Peter, his Spider Sense was green and purple, the Prowler's colors, then turns red and blue, Spiderman's colors
huh. miles spider sense was always a teeny bit later then everyone elses so i always thought he was still getting warned of the green goblin
@@xekeyo that’s also cuz he has a slower spider sense in general since he has invisibility and electric powers.
But they still operate fine since he was able to escape spider society (easier to be on defense for spider man than it is to be on offense)
He was never going to be the prowler. Miles was supposed to be a regular human, thats it. Aaron would've still been the prowler, blond peter would still be alive, Miles G. Morales (prowler miles) would've been spiderman and in test footage is shown as a vigilante.
Also the Prowler theme reversed is Miles's theme (the score is called Shoulder Touch) in the first movie but it could also be a tease of Miles supposed fate or the Miles in the earth 42
@@aliceandrade7164 its not.
Fun facts about Miguel:
He doesn’t have a spider sense
He can’t stick to walls
His suit is heavily tech based (as you saw)
He has claws
He’s physically stronger than Peter
He has a venom bite (which is why he was about to bite bro’s face off at the beginning of the movie)
Facts about spider punk:
He fights the fascist dictator of his world (who is Norman Osborn aka the green goblin)
He also kills Norman by BEATING HIM TO DEATH with his guitar
He’s gay (at least in the comics)
He can use sound to attack
They’ll prob keep Hobie gay. Or at least keep him uninterested in girls and just not confirm him being gay
@@ma.2089 hopefully
This machine kills fascists- literally
@AFuckingBird pretty sure that’s his suit, could be wrong
HE'S FRUITY???
Donald Glover is actually the reason Miles exists in the first place. Brian Michael Bendis (creator of Miles) saw that episode of Community where Glover was wearing Spider-Man pajamas, and it inspired him to create Miles. Glover also voiced Miles in the Ultimate Spider-Man tv show, so he did somewhat achieve his dream.
He also legit played Aaron Davis in Homecoming. Spidey catches him selling weapons or some such, you just don't see him as Prowler.
Aaaaand as a deeper layer, there was a strong negative reaction from some people initially to the Miles Morales comics: to them he wasn't supposed to be Spider-Man... just like in this movie, Miles "wasn't supposed to be Spider-Man".
You missed an important detail, Donald Glover wanted to play Spiderman, which caused a “debate” about a black person being Peter Parker. He did not get the role, with the response being he was too old for the part even though he was the same age as Andrew Garfield, who did get the amount. Miles was created because of Donald
as a way of saying anyone could be Spiderman.
@@coolcras7 it’s funny. He’s been in like, what? 3 pieces of spider-man related media now? It’s almost as if these studios are trying to make up for the fact that he didn’t get to play Peter Parker himself.
@@campbell91988well actually he’s in this movie as the prowler lol 😂
So the animators have said Hobie took 3 YEARS to sort out in terms of how to animate him and then doing it. He's got like a full paragraph of rules. I also love that if you go back knowing his feelings on everything (that what Miguel's doing is fucked) you can clear see him trying to quietly and then increasingly loudly stop Miles from ever going there.
The scene of Gwen being shocked yet flattered by Miles' drawings of her may be awkward or creepy, but personally, I think it's really sweet
It would have been creepy if she was the only one he made. But you can see he drew his uncle and other people too, so I’m sure she’s just flattered lol
yeah, it's super creepy to be into a girl that you like. nobody should ever like anybody.
@@SonicMegaKing True
But Gwen going through an art book without permission is so frustrating, hurt me in my soul when I watched the movie
@@Hope-uo1nz Yeah, but it was a smart move by the writers because this scene showcases how she is not used to having friends. Just like when she took the toy out of the box. Now that one really hurt me lol. She doesn't really know about boundaries because she doesn't have friends
Just to let you know: Miguel's not a vampire. His DNA was mixed with a spider in some kind of DNA splicer and it gave him organic webbing (obviously not here), retractable talons, and fangs.
Also I think he's lacking a spider sense too.
He’s biologically 50% spider apparently.
Yeah he doesn’t have spider-sense since he got jumped by the vulture in the beginning
@@beef3442 Well, when the Great Web was damaged, everyone’s spider sense reacted to it, including Miguel’s. Indicating he does have one but it’s weaker the most of the others since he relies on his enhanced senses.
he has organic webbing in the credits sequence, somehow
@@PG2248CoasterNewsin some comics it explains that when under a lot of stress for a prolonged amount of time it causes the organic web spinners to kinda malfunction and not create web properly. That’s probably the case here.
I had an incredible theatre experience during this movie, the second time I saw it when Gwen was having her big heart to heart with her dad at the end a fly landed on the projector and was casting a small circular shadow around the screen. a little kid did not know it was a fly and said OUT LOUD "oh no Gwen its the spot"
dude there was a bug on the projector for like the entire movie the first time i went to go see it and it got me so angry
The way Spot started off as a goofy silly little villain to a genuinely terrifying one is just
* aggressive chef kiss *
It's quite tragic because it feels like if Miles took him seriously and tried to get him help instead of dismissing him as a villain and beat him up, most of what he does could've been avoided.
LITERALLY
@@nahuel3433 YOU’RE SO RIGHT OMG 😭😭
Ya oh hey spot want to be the hero?
Honestly I am so glad I didn't see any trailers for this movie. Because of that I didn't even KNOW that Spot was supposed to be the main villain of this story. During the first fight I thought he was just there fulfilling that classic superhero movie role of being the easy villain to take down to showcase the hero and have the audience catch up to where they're abilities are as well as building hype for the main plot (it was clever how they disguised that part by giving it to Gwen instead of Miles), ad then he escapes and I'm just like "wait a minute"
Fun Fact: The Spot was an incredibly minor joke villain in Spiderman's rogues gallery and never saw much in terms of good writing. His powers, especially here, are actually terrifying though. The man is basically a walking black hole that can travel the multiverse at will. You wouldn't get that from the comics however.
Hobie was stealing parts and low key trying to convince Miles not to meet Miguel bc he knew the situation was janky.
Also he stole the parts so he could make his own watch
Kick me if Im wrong or if it was obvious, but I think Gwen's character was definitely written to be emotionally repressant. As someone who also does it, its so clear to see it on her. Snapping out of nowhere, waiting to be openly anxious until no one is around, physically distancing herself from really big emotional problems like her dad and only expressing those feelings later, etc. And its cool to see cause in her line of work, that would make sense, especially after her Peter's death.
Same! Glad someone else sees it. I've seen a lot of people angry or annoyed at her for not talking to her dad sooner or for how she acts, a lot of them don't seem to understand which I was surprised at since I recognized her behavior similar to my own and saw where/why she was behaving
@@frogclock8747 Yes! Me and my dad had a very similar dynamic and after awhile I just wanted nothing to do with him, but also had the feeling of wanting to have an actual healthy relationship one day. The whole "What is that face?" "Im looking at you. Like you asked." Is smth we totally did. And while it was clear she didnt like him anymore, in the end she did go after him, and let everything out. I wish I was able to do that but letters I'll never send has done the trick
Fun fact, Gwen's theme has a high-pitched and sped up electric guitar that played the original spider man theme.another fun fact is when her dad says, "Go easy in the penguin" it's a metaphor to gwen , because in the peter porter's universe gwen is a penguin so in reality , the dad saying that means "go easy on yourself"
Also, I feel like they are mistaking timeliness with time travel
Another detail I never noticed is Gwen is aware of Miles’ through her spider-sense because of their personal connection. She was the only one that can sense what was happening to miles and it happened multiple times.
Cool detail to show how many layers go into having Spidey-sense.
She sensed Miles before he was even bitten in ITSV. That's what brought her to Visions Academy.
yep, she senses him getting hit in a diferent universe, and in the first movie her sense brought her to his school before he was even bitten. so yeah, their connection goes beyond... the spiderverse...
@@dgmilloway goes back to the time is relevant statement. That was also probably based off their future connection. Good point out.
While true that their connection allow her to feel more, it also is what makes it impossible for her to sense him while invisible (spot's house) since a weakness of the spider sense is that the more passive side of it will not react to those Spiderman dont consider a threat. Funny enough that is also what allows Venon to not be detectable despite he being a menace
@@marpj6138 yeah because of like you said, neither of them were in danger at that moment lol
Fun Fact: Miles' roommate was apparently playing an early build of Spider--Man 2 that Insomniac let them use for the scene, lol
For those unaware, the original ETA for Beyond the Spider-Verse was speculated by many to be 2026, but the escalation of the Hollywood Writers’ Strike put the movie on an indefinite delay. I was already content beforehand with waiting longer given the phenomenally high bar and passion put into these movies (and the fact I’d be astounded to hear how the hell they would top what we’ve seen in Across the Spider-Verse), but as someone who has been striving to enter the animation industry for years, hearing how film and animation companies ignore these protests makes me scared shitless about the future of animation. And this is more excruciating to hear NOW as the disrespect has grown higher than before and has been a topic of discussion for me to hear/think of everyday.
The original date for BTSV was literally next year, until those idiots robbed us off it by moving it to 2026 and then who knows when.
So at this point they deserved to be ignored
@@almas4663 There's no way BTSV was gonna be ready by next year even if the writer's strike wasn't going on, that's insane. Had they already done part of the movie or something?
@@doctorsnakeeater1997 When movies make two-parters, two movies are made back-to-back so in time part one comes out it's only one year left to finish the part two.
This movie was a part one from the start, so it's obvious that part two was already in the works, being made alongside ATSV.
So the movie being released just a year after the part one is realistic, but the Strike took it away from us, just like it recently took Hazbin Hotel, that was nearly finished and was set to release this very month
@@almas4663I mean you could animate it for next year if you want? See how easy that is lol XD
@@cartooncrazy9883 Can't you read, man? BTSV was being made alongside ATSV, like any two-parter is. They only needed a year to polish what they already made, but the movie was in production for almost as long as ATSV was.
Here's something that will blow your mind. In the comics, Miles Morales comes from Earth-1610 where his uncle, Aaron Davis is the villain known as the Prowler. Earth-1610 was created in 2000, but the character of the Prowler existed as far back as the 1970s in the main Earth-616 universe. The Prowler of the Earth-616 universe is more of an anti-hero who is an ally of Peter Parker's Amazing Spider-Man most of the time, but occasionally an enemy. 616 Prowler also isn't Aaron Davis, who was a unique character to Earth-1610, and was created as an antagonist for Miles Morales's Ultimate Spider-Man.
616 Prowler is... Hobie Brown.
Let’s be honest no one cares about the original Prowler. You’d have to be an oldhead or a comic book nerd to know Hobie as the Prowler
@@donathan2933 sure you have to be, but the connection is still cool and probably intended by the creators of the movie. So its neat to know.
@@datzfatz2368 true
@@datzfatz2368 This was actually a thing from the comics. Hobart Brown/Spider-Punk (including the Misfits/Earth-138 connection) was created for the Spiderverse crossover event back in 2014-15. To be fair, the first Spiderverse film was in development at the same time, so these connections to Miles were probably intentional.
In case you didn't notice, At the end there Miles was constantly speaking to Miles G. while rubbing against the chains with his hands.
So in the next movie, he's most likely going to escape using the *"Don't watch the mouth, watch the hands"* As Peter showed him that trick while he was tied to that exact punching bag.
Honestly, I kind of want him to fail. 42 Miles seems to be far more serious and focused, something Miles wasn't when he had Peter. Not to mention, there are two people watching 1610 Miles, so he'd have an even harder time escaping.
It'd also show even more of a difference between 1610 Miles and 42 Miles... Also, it'd be hilarious if he failed it.
For the record. Almost all of the spiders are canon to some degree. Look up the Spider-Rex, you’ll be surprised
I found the fandom page and spent a solid five minutes cracking up
The animators spent 3 years learning/trying to animate Hobie, I love how you guys appreciate how cool it is!
i'm so glad the entire spiderverse fanbase is united by our love for hobie (and btw - the spiderpunk comics r so much fun, if you want more of him!)

@@mitcheltillman2461 he's in the spiderverse and spidergeddon comics, but if you're interested in solo stuff and not the spider society as a whole, "spider-punk: battle of the banned" came out recently and is pretty good! you also get to meet some other folks from his universe too, like the rest of his band n some other vigilantes :]
that's what's more amazing, in other movies, hobie would be the douchy rival love interest for gwen, the more capable and adult that the hero must grow to surpass.
but in here, he is more like an older brother, and he, even more than gwen or the others who are technically on miles side, is the one to really have his back.

@@marcosdheleno not only is he NOT the douchebag love rival, he ships the GhostFlower ship he calls Miles Peter Pan and Gwen G(Wendy) it’s cute af he’s Gwen’s wingman/big brother
@@mitcheltillman2461 that's why people loved him so much, and its interesting watching it again and actually hearing how gwen talks about hobbie.
she mention hobbie as "you are gonna love him". because in her eyes, the guy is basically a big brother to her, and she knows he will just put miles under his wing as well. which he does.
at no point he ever tries to show off. on the contrary, he tells miles to look at the big picture, and to test out his powers.
The scene with Childish Gambino isnt a Cameo just because he inspired the creation of Miles, its because he plays Miles uncle in Tom Hollands Spiderman Homecoming. There was a deleted scene in Homecoming where he called Miles to tell him he'd be late.
This movie is one of those rare sequels that is able to ascend above the heights of it's predecessor (which was already a masterpiece), honestly it my just be one of the best movies I've ever seen.

There are 95 Spider-Man variants that have actual comics movies or games off them but in total there are 280 Spider-Man variants in this movie
Spider-Verse is one of the living proof that an animated movie can give 100x better than a live action one.
It gave us the magic, the feels, the mixture of uniqueness of different variations of art style, the music score, the music album and most of all the animators that worked on this movie
to create a CINEMATIC MASTERPIECE.
Animated movies aren’t appreciated enough but movies like Spiderverse, TMNT and Puss in Boots are changing that
Animated movies can have so many creative freedoms, Spiderverse really highlighted that.. It's just unfortunate some people are limited by budget.
BUT ALSO.. Not only that but so many other forms of art; such as writing can also have massive creative freedom.. It's really amazing to see some of these ideas come into fruition; mixing multiple forms of art together to create a interesting story.

Fun fact: I think pretty much all of the spider-men are from the comics and other media. So much love and research put in this.
There was a Big push for Gambino (Glover) to play Peter in a movie not Miles, the importance of that is that push for Glover is the thing that got Miles made in the first place. he kind of manifested the character
14:00 Spider-Man 2099 (Miguel O'Hara) actually does mention the MCU in this movie when he talks about "Dr. Strange and the little nerd back on Earth -199999".
2099, but yeah, good on this movie for putting the MCU back in its place
@@irok1 Thanks, fixed it.
I don't think Miguel is Miles' "villain." Miguel is just his antagonist in this story right now because their motivations clash. He's not trying to do anything "bad" so he's not a villain. The Spot on the other hand, is a villain.
Also, I reckon that most of them are pre-existing characters. But I don't think they all have their own comics dedicated to them. They must have been featured in different ways. Like, a multi-verse Spider-man comic series can feature so many of them in one series. They don't have to have separate ones. Only the most prominent versions have their own- Miles, 2099, Gwen, Scarlet, etc.

That sounds so fun, would do that at my theatre if they didn't have seats assigned with the tickets
I'm so glad they took their time. I was so worried that they were going to rush the conclusion. This is a story that deserves its time.
I was a bit apprehensive when I first saw the trailer for portraying Miguel O'Hara aka Spider-Man 2099 in an antagonistic way because Miguel is a far cry from a villain and he's also my all-time favourite Spider-Man in the comics but the movie did an amazing job for portraying him not as the villain but more like an opposing force.
Yeah, he’s still a very likable character and you can understand his actions based on his backstory. If I was in his position I’d probably be hesitant to just let miles go back home as well
I do wonder how the 3rd movie will go about dealing with him. To be frank, although he hasn't actually killed anyone, I seriously doubt any of these characters would ever forgive him even if he realized he was wrong. But on the other hand, killing him doesn't seem like the right answer. Unless, and hear me out...they combined the two solutions by having him realize his wrong-doings and sacrificing himself to kill Spot 🤔

The 1st version has audio problems and it was replaced by the 2nd version with fixed audio couple of weeks after the initial release.
The 3rd version changed little stuff that doesn't really affect the plot. For example, when Spider Man 2099 asked for backup, when Lyla said "But I enjoyed that", 1 version has her taking a selfie with him while the other has her fistbumping him
I love how you guys talk during the movie and theorize about what’s going to happen. It might frustrate some, but it’s your style and I dig it. I also find it funny whenever you guys pause and then talk about something that the answer is about to be said in the next scene 😂 it happens often and sometimes you guys are right on the money, but it’s funny when you’re off and then hit play to find out. It really does lead to good humor and you sometimes even comment that you should just let the movie play sometimes 😂 very self aware
Loved the reaction guys, I’ve been sick recently and your reactions make me feel a lot better. Also glad you like Hobie too. Speaking of Hobie, there is a whole lot of foreshadowing lines and snippets in both this and Into the Spider-Verse. Here are a few that I was able to find.
1. In Into the Spider-Verse, while Miles and Aaron are spray-painting, the 42 spider glitches. It also glitches when Miles finds it before knowing about the collider. This was foreshadowing that the spider wasn’t from Miles universe and almost everybody glossed over it until now.
2. Another thing from the first movie is that when the Peter of Miles universe saves him from falling and discovers that he’s also a Spider-Man. The colors for when Mile’s spidey-sense goes off change from purple and green to red and blue. This signifies that the Miles from Earth-1610’s fate of becoming the next Prowler would change to become the next Spider-man. It’s CRAZY how they were foreshadowing future events even in the first movie.
3. During Spot’s backstory, when the 42 spider transfers from it’s universe to Miles universe, you could actually see Earth-42 Miles in the background. This is another way to show that Earth-42 Miles and Earth-1610 Miles fates were swapped, the spider was about to bite 42 Miles but was transferred into another universe.
4. Before Miles and Miguel meet, Hobie begins taking mechanical equipment from the base. Now you would think he was only doing this for fun or out of boredom, but he was actually taking those parts to make Gwen’s new watch after she gets kicked out. He was also trying to get Miles from going with the other Spiders back to the base. He KNEW how things would play out. Hobie is the GOAT.
You actually see spider 42 going to Earth 42's Miles during Spots flashback scene.
Miguel is not a villain, he is an antagonist. That's the word you guys were looking for in your discussion :) Neither Miles nor Miguel is a hero or villain, they are the protagonist and antagonist of the story - they both think they're right in their own way.

This movie hit me in the feels with the parents dynamic with Miles throughout, I had a lot of the same conversations and heard them argue about the same things when I was fooling around with some girl, and things went a little too far. watched this in the theatre with my buddies and was sobbing hearing it all over again, I live this movie, it means a lot to me although it's only half a story
This was hands down the best superhero movie of all time and it was a perfect sequel to an already near flawless movie.
A big part of Stan Lee’s vision for Spider-Man was anyone could wear the mask
Fun fact don glover was actually the inspiration for miles and even has voice acted him before
I want Miles 42 to be an anti hero in his universe. Like he's still a good kid and wants to do good, but because he grew up rough, he does it in a less desirable way. Like a Robin hood type. Lik3 he steals from the rich and corrupt and gives back to the people type beat
Miguel/Spider-Man 2099 is an Antagonist not a Villain. An Antagonist is someone who’s in the way of the protagonist, but it doesn’t mean that person is doing villain/evil things exactly but something that’s opposing the protagonist
An absolutely breathtaking movie! I can't wait to see the finale. I really hope that they can stick the landing!
If it helps any, this movie actually did have a full arc. But it wasnt miles's, it was Gwens. The movie begins with her and ends with her. The story is about her relationship with her father and her secret identity. Miles story is a secondary storyline to this movie, but the main story over the whole trilogy
I just watched it for the second time and I still fully believe this is not only one of the best movies ever made, but I believe it's one of the most well-made movies ever. So perfect.
The Donald glover scene is also a reference to Spider-Man Homecoming, the dude he plays that Spider-Man stops in the parking garage is Aaron Davis. He even mentions having a nephew that lives in the area
Peter gave MJ flowers and they went straight to business 💀
Lol he said "Idk how they're gonna wrap this up" seconds before they were gonna end it 😂
The scene where Miles’ mom is talking to him on the rooftop always gets me man bc it reminds me of my mom
ONE person designed like 99% of the Spider people costumes in this movie (Kris Anka) and basically dozens of them are from real comics but there ARE multiples made up for the movie. The ones who exist apart from the main cast: Spider-Cat, Therapist Spidey (Ezekiel), Sun spider (wheelchair), Peter Parkedcar (Spiderbuggy), Spider-Man Unlimited, Webslinger (Cowboy), Maybelle (Steampunk Spider-woman), Ben Reilly, Kaine, Araña (big buff lady with the blue suit), some versions of the Mech Spiderman suits, Spider-Man Unlimited, The Bombastic Bag Man, Mayday Parker (Spider Girl). I don't remember the rest but there's a LOT more I'm missing.
I really love that there is NOTHING out of left field. EVERYTHING is set up.
"Your Spider was from a different Universe" early on, than the big reveal.
When he jumped into the Sending Home machine, the Screen says "Earth-42" instead of "Earth-1910", than later the big reveal :)
Not only did they give Donald Grover a cameo, if you've seen Spider-man Homecoming (the MCU's spider-man) he said in that movie that he's got a nephew: it's Miles Morales.
Earth 1610 is the Ultimate comics universe. Earth-199999 is MCU (thus the No Way Home reference).
Also: Donald Glover was given the cameo because he is Aaron Davis in Spider-Man Homecoming. Which is Prowler/Miles uncle. He even mentioned his nephew in Homecoming, referring to Miles.
I saw this on theaters 3 times, and I've watched multiple reactions. Seeing the pain of the "To Be Continued" on people when they see it, just like the pain I had, is a universal experience.
“How are they supposed to wrap this up?”
THEY DONT! The AUDACITY!!!
This movie was such a visual overload I loved it, it had me engaged 100% of the time.
Miles morales exist because of a Donald glover scene from community, so him being the prowler is so wholesome
I had a punk Spider-Man action figure as a kid. Never knew he was British, didn't even know he was a rebel. I just vaguely remember trying to look it up and only finding a small mention in years of disconnected comics.
He’s not British in the comics, but his design was originally conceived for Spider-UK, so they made him British in the movie as a nod to that.
Great story, Great album, Great visuals. I love this movie so much. I was smiling so happily at the end of the movie when I watched it with my friends at the cinema. 10/10
I always appreciate those who willing to wait for like... i dont know, 2 months, after the theatherical (I can't spell) release, just to make a reaction, and let us watch them reacting to the movie~ I called that commitment, and cool~
Cause like, I don't go to the movie cinema/theater often, but this is one those movies that I have to watch, and it was worth it to pay for~
Again, really grateful that you guys make a reaction for this~ keep up the good work! :D
Honestly I love that scene with all the spider men chasing Miles. Especially that pointing spider man meme
Spider punk is one of my favorite characters and I love that he is animated on a different frame rate than the rest, and the watch he makes gwen is made from all the parts he was stealing from the hub.
This follow up Spider-Verse film was amazing! Interesting how long it is compared to its predecessor. Too bad the next part has been delayed though because I eagerly await what happens next, especially where this film leaves us…with questions that need answering!
Also, I’m your most recent subscriber!😉👍🏽
Into the Spiderverse was a 10/10,
Across the Spiderverse became an 11/10,
Beyond the Spiderverse can have whatever number it wants, whenever it comes out.
Man, the ability to pause really takes the punch out of some scenes...

Miguel actually mentions the MCU when he talks about "Doctor Strange and that nerd on 19999" 19999 is the MCU.
"I can't think of a movie that ended in a to be continued that's this good." Someone forgot Infinity War
2 things.
A. Upon rewatching its crazy how much Hobie is trying to help Miles. He is legit looking out for him more than Gwen and Peter B.
B. I think in the next sequel we are gonna learn that spider 42 was ALWAYS going to bite Miles Morales. It just bit a different one.
Regarding B, I think it already shows that in this movie. When spot is explaining his origin story, the spider gets teleported into another dimension while it was in a classroom with a kid with braids in the foreground: Miles Morales
@@battousaix4263 ah someone who has rewatched the movie as many times as me. Haha
On top of the many things I love about your reaction, is your working out the logistics of Miles going to Princeton but also living in Brooklyn. As a New Yorker, I immediately "yupped" and "uh huhed" with every part of that. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Great reaction, you guys. Subscribed!
To be continued... is all over hollywood. Back to the Future is probably the main one popping off in most people's heads.
according to the spiderman fan wiki, there are 324 variations of spiderman across the multiverse established prior to this movie, but not all of them are from different dimensions as there are situations of one replacing another after theyve died etc
Across the Spider-verse is a beautifully masterpiece with stunning animation. I love that you guys loved Hobie aka Spider-Punk he was my favorite supporting character here and a true homie to Miles 🙌🏾
Just realized how Miguel saying what he is about canon events, is pretty much the least spider-man thing possible.
If something bad happens and you have the power to stop it, yet do nothing. Then what happens next is Your Responsibility.
With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibility.
i mean they did confirm the sequel would be a 2 part from awhile ago lol
40:46 This scene reminded me of the moment Andrew Garfield's Amazing Spiderman lost his Gwen. However in this case, the fact Gwen saves Miles in reverse, is hint that Miles Morales isn't really meant to be Peter the Spiderman, hence his potential relationship with Gwen isn't breaking any predestined cannon event, such that Gwen's fate wouldn't be sealed if they were to be together.
I still remember the feelings when i saw this at the theatre. Goosebumps hit me with a fucking 10x combo, constantly bringing out shit that was incredibly epic and shocking, i went to see that on Tuesday night to avoid being cramped in the theatre, and it's still like 60-70% filled up, and everyone's reaction also added up to the experience. Man, when Miles Prowler version showed his face, everyone is a Pikachu surprised meme, and when the "To Be Continued" screen hit us, there was some people who was not happy at all xD
LETS GOOOO, IVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU GUYS TO WATCH THIS ONE SINCE YOU WATCHED THE FIRST ONE AND EVEN MORE AFTER I WATCHED THE MOVIE, THIS MOVIE ABSOLUTELY MEANS THE WORLD TO ME
Thank ya'll so much for not seeing this in theatres so that you could make a blind reaction. Loved watching you theorize about what the outcome would be throughout the movie
Their faces at 7:16 are priceless this movie is amazinggg
For Ruff, most of the intereacted with spider-people are real versions that have their own stories. there were also around 20,000 versions for different body types made that all have interchangeable accessories and colors.
Lmao. I felt the exact same way in the theater when I saw it the first time. I was so mad and so satisfied at the same time. Plus, it would seem that I was one of two out of my squad who did not know that it was going to be a 2 parter.
what a nice surprise to get after coming home from work :,) thanks y'all
Didn’t see this in the comments but Donald Glover being the prowler here comes directly from the first Tom Holland Spiderman movie. He even speaks about his nephew, which essentially is Miles Morales
MAN this movie has changed my brain chemistry FOREVER
Just absolutely insane gosh I still can't believe this movie is REAL
2099 has never been a vampire. He has fangs like spiders which are his canines
