Backside of the trench should have definitely been printed as Beggar’s canyon, would have been great for a little demo/learning game featuring Luke and Biggs.
Love this idea.
A breath of fresh air to the game. Love that my wife and I can quickly setup the squads and just jump right in. We aren't competitive players so this is a nice way to just play the game and I hope they make more
A couple of missed opportunities on this - backs of cards being the most obvious, back of the trench should have at least been the same (so when one side wears out, you can flip it).
Would have also been nice to see tokens for the defense cannons along the trench - which they could have also sold models for :P
Maybe the cannons will be future releases, as there are rules and card text that talk about structures.

I've PURCHASED way more X-Wing than I've played. For the casual player - this product is amazing. I'll be getting X-wing back to my table for the first time in YEARS!
Same here. The biggest obstacle for me has been the hassle of the game setup - putting together lists and then getting all of the cards and cardboard together. I'm hoping the load out cards will solve a lot of that problem.
Can we just start yelling at AMG to get their act together and stop these misprints from happening?
in case you missed it they've been woke and went straight WAF in the last 2 years🤡it's what Maniacs on Twitter do they make a lot of mistakes because they don't care about the product🤡

I think this is a good pack. I can see my boys and I playing this, especially with Interceptors involved. I also like your idea of generic ship inserts with just arc lines vs having pilot initiatives. I think it would allow cleaner moves to future "upgrades". For example, if a pilot/ship initiative should ever change you wouldn't need a new ship insert PLUS new pilot cards like the conversion kits offered, just the cards. Or, AMG could provide PDF's like before with just the values to print to be overlaid on the cards. Just thinking out loud. =)
I like how the point of these products is for easy and quick play, yet misprints slip by the quality control team and players still need to hunt down errata. Yeah, eventually there may be rules changes that introduce needed errata to make the appropriate changes, but day one you're pulling out cards to play with that aren't correct. I think these types of products are good ideas for X-Wing on occasion (like I hope they don't just focus on pumping these things out over new ships), but they really need to work better to ensure that these things are 100% playable out-of-the-box without any issues.
QC is a big issue for x-wing with me. They used to be really good at least with customer service and replacement but not my experience anymore.
To be honest I'm disappointed with this release. For the investment in the new format cards, only the one mission is really poor. They could easily have had three, the first being a head to head as the rebels approach the Deathstar, a second mission to take out the turret guns and then ending with the Trench run. No need to link them up if they wanted to keep it simple. A few counters to represent the turrets, nothing more. I'll keep hold of the expansion but have cancelled the Siege one, I really hope they rethink the strategy going forwards.

Not happy with how lazy and careless AMG seems to be with all these misprints and errata but I still do like the idea of having the option for standard play. Anything that makes a quick game faster and easier to set up.
They could have added quotes, reminders, anything to the backs…or maybe an image of the ships exploded for when the are destroyed

Too little, too late, AMG. X-Wing is already in the grave in my area and there is no sign of that changing anytime soon. To quote Ferris Bueller: "You're still here?...It's over...go home...................go."

Man, I am disappointed to hear about the misprint. It's only one minor thing but it's a common occurrence now with AMG, very unprofessional.
Haven’t played x wing in a long time but this looks really fun.
These packs will make it so much more convenient to set up and play a game of X-Wing and the scenarios sound fun. Not sure why I’m not as excited as I feel I should be though. Somehow the production quality looks a bit cheap with all the blank sides. Maybe will wait until these hit discount prices since I rarely play anymore.

I think its smart they have costed most of them a point lower their original and have suboptimal ability or loadout. Means theres at least still some thought in choice and they aren't automatically better than their original spec

Something about the basic black text in white boxes looks cheap on the ship cards, i like everything else though
Very excited for this. I definitely think there should’ve been at least something on the back of the trench, but it’s understandable since it is just supposed to be a battle of yavin pack.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the configuration abilities don't trigger because the ship ability isn't given through an upgrade, it is inherent to the pilot and printed. Like with the escape pod from scum falcon, the ship abilities are not a solid rule.
Correct, the X-Wings do not have S-Foils. They are locked in Attack Position, that's the theme.
It works. But I kinda wish there was a little more. New upgrades we could put on other ships that weren’t locked to these new pilots. Still nice to see some old and new faces come back to x-wing.
the wall near the exhaust port looks nothing like the movie :( otherwise I love this pack.

Surprised the cards are that small. I was fully expecting that they’d be the size of a Imperial Assault hero/Super Star Destroyer armada card.

you are not alone, there is no han/falcon cardboard included, i opened my box last night, its a very oddly designed kit. no tokens either.
My X-Wing play has ground to a halt, I've upgraded to 2nd edition but never played it. Might get this and use it as the standard game mode for occasional play with non X-Wing players

This looks like it would be super fun to play.
Not a fan of this card format. To me, half of the fun was list building and coming up with different combos. I am glad to see the return of older pilots. I also like the scenario idea.
I totally get that this doesn't really cater to those that love the list building. And while I understand the appeal of list building I think there are a lot of casual players out there (like me) that just don't have the time or interest to put into list building and just want to play. This format hopefully makes it quick to get a game on the table without a lot of setup. This also might be more appealing to getting new people into the game because of the lower effort required for setup.
@@wscrivner I totally get that. My group plays casual for the most part as well. I am just a little OCD myself and like my cards to match. Take Luke the old card it not legal. If I use the new card, it will not match the rest of the cards in my force. I really hope that this isn't a sign of things to come. I have already had to change from 1st edition. I really hope we don't have to do that again. I also like the replay ability you have by changing you upgrade cards and keeping your ships the same. It can lead to good surprises for your opponents. To me it is one of the better parts of the game. I don't mind losing it for a scenario pack. I just hope that it isn't a portent of things to come.

OK... this might get me back into X-wing. I stopped playing right as 2.0 hit. I bought conversion kits but X-wing only hit the table 1 maybe 2 times and never under 2.5. We play mostly table top at home and picking load outs was always too daunting for my SO. Unless I built lists for them they didn't want to play. And the old blue quick build cards made me still have to sort through hundreds of upgrade cards and was a tremendous pain. So this begs the question...
As 2023 closes out are these two sets "Battle of Yavin" and "Seige of Curoscant" the only sets that come with these standarized loadout cards? Or are there others now. Is this going to be a thing they package standard in the ship blisters moving forward. I hope not, I already have dozens and dozens of ships I don't want to rebuy when I already have many multiples.

Would this be a decent introduction for people who have never played X-Wing before? I was thinking this might be a way to get a couple friends into the game since it seems pretty self contained and a fairly easy setup?
So I haven't played this game in so long and picked up the scenario today... but how do I know the squad point values?
I have spent over an hour trying to get that answer online is not clearly documented anywhere...
When I tuned out there was still a maintained FFG app, and I found Yasb but I do not see the points for these...
So are they doing away with you building your own load outs. An it is only going to be these quick builts

My wife and I are new to X-Wing and haven't played any scenarios yet. Should we start with this scenario or with the other scenarios from Epic Battles?
I'm assuming by your wording that maybe you've already played some standard games but just not scenarios? If that's the case I don't think it will matter if you start with Epic Battle scenarios or the Battle of Yavin. Although I personally think the Yavin set will be more fun.

Yeah I usually throw them out without ever looking at them. I kinda hate scenarios to be honest. I'll try to read over them more in the future.

I found this video to be kinda worthless. I wanted to know about the contents and what's needed to play the game, and how it all works. I don't really care about what's on the back of the cards at all.
The cards are very nice but basically useless outside of this boxset.
