  • Welcome back to David Garzas gold in this video we go 300 feet underground into the Central Eureka mine hidden in the hills of the Colorado mountains and run into bad air in the mine. I working on getting more equipment like a longer rope to get to the very bottom and a new camera set up.
If you know of any open mines in Colorado that you would like me to explore send me a message on Facebook or if you have any other questions it also lets you stay more up to date on my channel

That opening shot of you rappelling down the wall was incredible! You made it look so easy! I was never aware that dynamite boxes had the date printed on them in one of the corners. I’ll have to keep an eye out for that the next time I come across dynamite box fragments inside an abandoned mine. Thanks for pointing that out! Yes, it’s always best to heed the gas detectors when they start going off. That’s the problem with rappelling down into these vertical mines - the deeper you go, the more likelihood there will be bad air due to the lack of fresh air and circulation. Sounds like you’re getting quite a lot of experience with rappelling and getting quite proficient at it. Lucky you! Your exploring buddy seems like a cool guy and one who definitely knows what he’s doing underground. Congratulations on getting your 400th subscriber, too!

Thanks for watching! I’ll definitely make a trip back to this mine to see if the air is better on a nicer day hopefully I can get to the bottom! I’m also working on getting new camera equipment!!

Hello from Texas! Cool footage brother, thank you. You guys did the right thing by playing it safe. Good calls to not ignore the monitors, just in case. Take care and hope to see more soon.

Sweet video man I believe giant powder company is one of the oldest you will find in a mine . With that still there no one prob has been down there in hundred years or more . so cool to see that keep up the awesome work and stay safe out there thank you for documenting these mines that the new generation is demolishing. Our history is important .

Hey, had to stop by and check out your work! Really cool stuff. Living here on the New Jersey Shore, it's a different world for me. Hope you can make it out to Silver Cloud. Especially enjoyed the John 3:16 reference. Stay safe and keep up the good work. Subbed!

I have used BW O2 oxygen meters in the past so that’s definitely what I recommend, you can message me on my Facebook page and I can send you a few links for a few gas detectors.
