I used to do this when I was 8. I found that one gag joke set and took it seriously. I cried over the fact that I couldn’t have it so I went into my grandmothers backyard and pulled out a landscaping rock and treated it like my actual pet. I bathed it, made it toys, took it on walks, and hot glued together fabric to make it clothing. Then I threw it against a wall for some reason and it broke. I cried a lot, because of the fact I had the rock for a year and felt emotionally attached to it.

I had 2 pet rocks a few years ago, Little Jim and Big Ahh Buck, as their names says, Jim is a pretty a small one but hey, he still can put some serious damage if he wants to. He's pretty active, in fact, too active for his species.
And there is Big Buck, big and hard, you don't wanna mess with him, I rattle him once and my toe nail was destroyed.
But unlike Little Jim, he's very lazy. He rarely moves unless I bait him with sprinkles.
Sadly, I didn't have time to treat them anymore once I got to high school and like a gentleman would do, I let them free in the beaches with those hot rocks around.
