While I’ve never used the wheelchair service at the airport I personally knew tips were expected BUT for her to have the audacity to call you out like that is WILD!!! Not everyone is able to tip especially elderly people traveling. Even as a former server I would just take my L and move to my next table…never asking the customer.
Ohhh see I never knew it was expected to tip - If I did I would've brought cash or just went w/o the service lol. & see, I don't mind tipping, I was a server for several years and I know how it is. I just would never request a tip verbally lol I let folks tip what they want and if they don't tip, oh well. Like you said, I see elderly using the service most and with most of them being on a fixed income, it's insane to ask them to tip every time.
@@idesign8 and another thing! She didn’t know if you were in an excruciating amount of pain, just got out of surgery, was in a car accident ANYTHING!! So it was definitely rude of her! Don’t feel bad though, you did nothing wrong!

Sis, I cracked up when you talked about tipping the person who was pushing you at the airport.😂 It was your first time getting assistance. I used it and tipped.
lol 😂 right I told her, I didn’t know and genuinely had a concerned look on my face. So I’m thinking how ima get her this money after using this service lol. She could’ve just said something like “I take cash, cashapp or Zelle for the tip” lol instead of “oh you ain’t gon tip”. 😂

It’s very wild that she boldly asked you for a tip like that but being a flight attendant i can tell you that they do make like a severs salary. And they work for the entire airport, so they get paid nothing for all the manual labor they do. So tipping is really big for them. It’s how they make their money.
But it was still wrong for her to stand over you like that. Hopefully if you do have to use the service again, it won’t be such a bad one.
Ohh I get that! Servers typically make around $2.13 per hour (not including the tips) & when I looked it up I see that the Wheelchair Assistants at the airport make around $12.50 per hour. Which is still less than average but it's still way more than servers imo. However, I thank you for providing insight and education on this because a lot of people don't know that especially when working at the airport. We think the airport folks make bank lol. Had I known, I would've had cash or just not used the service. I was a server for several years so I know how it is and def. don't mind tipping. Thanks soo much for watching babe 🥰
Great evening! Let's start with tipping is optional! It was rude of her to ask, and then stand over you til you tip. Her attitude and demeanor once she asked about you tipping her would've canceled the thought of me giving her anything. Ppl get these jobs for the wrong reasons.

My mom always tip. She is 84 years old and those transporters are very helpful for elderly, sick and handicap people.
Yea, I don’t mind tipping just didn’t know it was expected to tip for that service. I even told the lady that I didn’t know. So it was very helpful to know that. Her attitude was unexpected even after I said I will tip and I still thought the way she asked was rude.

I would not have tipped her anything. I'm pretty is not legit for you to be paying someone who is an employee via cash app or Zelle. She needs to be reported. These people need to realize that tipping is optional. People have become entitled post pandemic.

Hi beautiful - I laughed so hard at the wheelchair person asking you "you ain't gonna tip?" I think it's so rude for someone to ask for a tip. We live in such a crazy country. Everything is so expensive all across America that people are trying to get money however they can. 😊

Hey! I use the airport wheelchair service and yes those employees really expect you to tip and I average $5 a person so it will cost me for a round trip of $25 it’s crazy that I have to average this in my travel expenses. I have health issues that’s why I use this service.💕😊

I’ve never used the wheelchair service at the airport; however, just like the baggage attendants on the outside of the airport that will check you in are aggressive about asking for a tip, I assume any service would at the airport. I hope she doesn’t do that with elderly people. But I do have an issue with the asking! You look so pretty at the event. Thanks for sharing.

I had one to use the wheelchair service because I had my leg in a cast. I knew to tip because my granny use to use them when she would fly. BUT when I tell you I had the best time in the wheelchair…I felt like a princess haha. My mom was flying back with me and my dog they were giving us VIP treatment leaving from NY to ATL. But yeah she’s definitely not supposed to ask for a tip she’s brave to even use her account info. She could get fired.

I broke my ankle and had to use wheelchair service. I have tipped and not tipped. Most wheelchair assistants are nice others are rude. If you are nice you get a good tip, if you are rude.. nah😂

I have used the wheelchair service. I was told that they don't make a lot so they are like wait servers. So they depend on tips. 🤷🏽♀️🙆🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️I think people at hospitals make more transporting patients.

The wheelchair people don’t get paid any money. For Atlanta it was $7.25 I think they got moved to $11. But she did not have to say it so crazy😂

The tip culture is getting out of hand. I never had to tip for wheelchair service. Now the guy at the airport outside checking in people luggage he asked for a tip, but this was years ago and I didn’t know any better. I’m not tipping if it’s not necessary. I never got tipped as a therapist, photography, illustrator, so why am I tipping people to do their job

Girlll tips are not required esp when they start asking. A guy in the Cancun Airport (who I didn’t ask for help) called me a B because I didn’t tip him. Sir I didn’t even asked for your help, you grabbed my bags and made me follow you to the kiosk. And I am a person that tips (he saw me tip my driver). The tip culture has gotten out of hand 🤦🏿♀️
