Good question, the ‘speed ultras’ feel like a super shoe that will protect your legs over long distances and you really notice the cushioning, rocker and also the ability to lock into sustainable decent pace. Legs felt great afterwards too with low fatigue. Weight is just abt ok for racing.
The ‘speed’ feels lighter and more nimble for shorter distance racing with the great Lightstrike pro energy return. Lower stack, less of a rocker feel and not as much of a super shoe feel. Still a great shoe, slightly better grip with lug depth.
My first introduction to a true super shoe was from Carbon X to the original Alphafly that felt like it really helped you with speed and protection. Hope useful.

Do you think they would be almost as good as a road super shoe on road or is there still a noticeable difference?

Lace length - I needed it for the runner's knot - I felt more secure in the heel with that but then I didn't size down and probably should have...

They tried carbon but they kept breaking 🤣 lifted straight from the Conversation Pace review on YT of the same shoe !

Vs the agravic speed you tested a few weeks back.... Is the speed ultra much better? Like, 50 quid better?
    Thanks. Good review

I sized down as everyone said too and im not convinced I needed too. found them fairly aggressive on the south downs. maybe I just need to get used to them but my Achilles didnt love being thrown around in them.

Interesting, I look forward to testing them further over more hilly terrain. Originally I think they were designed for Western States.

I wouldn't have said to size down personally. Mine are true to size

Sounds like a top notch piece of footwear Tom! Now I am certain I won't be catching you next week 🤣

Hope your training is going well. Centurion races are great. I’ve updated the description for UK Ultra.

I wore them for the SDW50 in April and by the end my feet were killing me! I'd need lots more miles in mine before considering them for a 100 miler

@@paulmulks Thanks Paul, that’s good to know. Will have a sock/shoe change option thanks to my legend crew Scott (prob Tecton X original) How was your pace compared to a standard trail shoe?
