    I am a fan of finding what works for my skin and sticking to it despite the price, I dont buy expensive cleansers but it is worth spending money on good quality serems and moisterisers.....especially now as I am fast approaching 40

    I'm enjoying my samples of Goldfield & Banks Sunset Hour & Silky Woods. I would like to try Southern Bloom next. I doubt I would buy any full size unless for a really good sale 😅

    I completely get the 'buy the good stuff' vibe. I'm fairly flexible on cleansers - as long as they do the job but moisturisers I've become really picky about. They are so important in not only dealing with whatevery my skin's current tantrum (52 and still oily) but how the makeup looks on top. I've also spent so much money at lower price points trying to spend less to get the same and it just doesn't work. Just buy the Elemis Hailey. Buy it, know that it's an investment and try a sample of something else every so often to see if there's something better.

      Yeah I have accepted my fate, it is what it is and I'd prefer to like my skin than be crying in to 20 crappy cheap moisturisers that don't work lol

    I've got super dry skin : Cosrx Balancium range and Soon Jung barrier cream (hate the packaging but good product). Avene cicaflate and avene tolerance cleanser is also great. Love dear klairs for my skin too.

    I have perimenopausal dry dry DRY skin. I have started to have a micromister at my work desk with water glycerin and a touch of rose water in it to help me thru the day. I don't fill the mister up all the way as there are no preservatives. Just enough for a day or two.

    I love Lancomes absolute rich cream and La Mer the concentrate. I find i prefer thayers toners and bioderma and la roche posse micellier waters to all others. Theres a bunch of serums I have tried and still dont have favorites but Paulas choice ones I feel actually work. Since I use a prescription retin-a I cant really speak on other retinol products.

    The Inkey List is such a mixed bag, honestly. I love and use daily their vitamin c and egf serum, hate hate hated the oat cleansing balm and the original SPF, and am fairly indifferent to most other things I've tried from them. Fortunately, at least in the UK, it doesn't break the bank to try them out, as they're often on 3 for 2 or another offer in Boots.
    I had a sample of that farmacy moisturiser, and I've been resisting buying it ever since. It's not as pricy for me, but it's still more than other things I know my skin likes from the likes of La Roche-Posay and Avene. It was sooooo nice, though!

    I also bought the goldfield and banks sampler when I saw you did as I’m looking for new perfumes and I agree with you. Not worth it. I only I think 1-2. 3 I gave to my mother as couldn’t stand them. Pretty sure I only really like the purple cypress as well

    Eyyy welcome to the moisturizer snob life! I figure getting one excellent but expensive moisturizer that saves me frustration pain and multiple desperate applications make it worth it. I've also found some craft boutiques (very small business types) and herbalists do excellent stuff -- don't know of any in Australia though :(

    I was very meh about the Goldfield and Banks sampler. I felt the same about Map of the Heart. I really enjoyed Who is Elijah and Rosie Jane - both houses have more of a lighter, skin like, unisex vibe that I prefer to traditional perfumes.

    The Elemis Pro Collagen Rose Facial Oil is also stupid good. Before trying it I was starting to think I just didn’t like face oils. Wrong, most of them just suck.

    I liked the actual farmacy moisturizer but hated the scent. The honey line is strong with the honey smell. The hydrating mask in this collection is like just smearing straight honey all over your face.

    • @niamhcaitriona
      @niamhcaitriona Před 6 měsíci +2

      The 'I'm From' honey mask is very similar, in that it feels like putting straight up honey onto the face, but in the nicest way possible. Doesn't have too strong of a scent either. I love it ❤

    I did not like Bohemian Lime by Goldfield and Banks, it smelled like cheap teenager cologne, and I literally chucked the bottle. I’m not sure how this brand gets these positive reviews, there are a couple of youtubers raving about Bohemian Lime - very disappointing
