    This info is all pretty correct except for a couple things. I would bake longer so it is properly cured. With all that shaking the pieces could break if they are baked for a long enough time. I bake at 275F for one hour to cure properly. Next, NEVER seal clay with clear nail polish. It will eat at the clay over time and ruin your piece. There is no need to seal a piece like this this any way. Polymer clay is plastic, it is already waterproof. Other than that, it is a pretty cute project!

      What kind of adhesive would you reccomend using since the video didn't mention what type to use?

    • @NameOfRain
      @NameOfRain Před 3 lety +3

      @@jkoz292 I'd use E600. It's a gel superglue, and it goes on clear and dries clear, plus it's waterproof. Also, I glaze my clay pieces with clear furniture varnish. It has a nice shine, it's cheap, it comes in a large container, and it gives a more sturdy, waterproof finish than regular clay glaze.

    The solvent in nail polish will begin to soften and dissolve your polymer clay, even baked clay, making it sticky and gooey over time.

    Does anyone know if you can skip the glycerine or use an alternative? I don't know where one would buy it and doesn't seem to need a lot 🙈

    • @lindacindrich5787
      @lindacindrich5787 Před rokem

      yes you can, but the glycerine make the snow or glitter fall slower, so its better to use it, or you can use Elmers CLEAR liquid glue. It must be clear though and this would have the same effect as the glycerine but much cheaper.

  • @autumnhess6729
    @autumnhess6729 Před 6 lety +2

    I have a few questions:
    Did you use the silicone glue to glue everything together or was it a different type of glue? Do we have to use glycerin? And you said sculpey clay, is that a type of clay or name brand?

    • @glasvegasbaby
      @glasvegasbaby Před 6 lety +2

      hi, she used silicone glue to stick together this type of clay which is polymer clay ( u can use also a liquid polymer clay for glueing it together ) and for glueing other things i guess u can use other types of glue, and glycerine is there for dense to create a snow falling slowly effect, so u don't have to ad it but i guess it won't be the same

    • @grayMoth73
      @grayMoth73 Před 3 lety

      Heyyy, I know this is an old comment but thought I'd help lmao. Any polymer clay should do well since it's technically plastic so it's waterproof. Other clays I'm unsure but it's probably safe to stay away from air dry as it will soften and eventually dissolve.

      Didn't have any glitter so crunched up a bit of old glass which should sparkle nicely, especially when the led's are on. My kids gonna love this 😁
