Never really thought about customer service from a company that sells markers, but hearing how great they are makes it kinda tempting to buy these.... well that and the low price
Me too seeing as I want to start doing color pieces! Also seem reasonably priced for a noob like me.
I suggest waiting until they get the brush markers! They might resolve some of the other issues with these markers when they do so. From what I've heard, Ohuhu markers started off kinda crummy and dried out regularly and they've been making drastic improvements every time they update their sets. They are supposed to come out in either the spring or the summer. Don't think they've given a date more specific than that.
They’re coming out with brush tip markers and I can’t wait to try them, I think they be good quality for a cheap price
Shawna Riley
They are?! Omg when will thy come out!
@@itslylla5291 in summer or smthng
They already have it on amazon
Meryem Tos those are the ones I got, but they are water based. I hope they come out with alcohol based brush pens soon with a chisel tip on the other end soon tho
Aquaa yea i heard about that on their insta! Im so excited and i hope they aren't expensive
I liked this review, but this isnt just markers for beginners, but all marker users, beginners, professional, medium. I think saying that makes it seem like if your a professional you cant use them. I just want some artists to kind of be wary of saying this when saying it it's almost kind of damning.
I do like your expertise with the markers overall.
Keep up the good work!
Don't get me wrong. A professional can use a stick and rub it into the dirt to make something awesome. But that's not really the point I'm trying to make here. Like, I'm not talking about beginner (art skill wise) I'm talking about beginner (new to a medium).
I'm saying that the price point is very good for a beginner (as in, any person who hasn't used something before) who isn't sure if alcohol markers is something they want to get into or not... I mean...most people who get into the marker side of art supplies spend a pretty penny and end up collecting a ton of different kinds. It's a good way to "get your feet wet" before deciding to jump in (financially).
@@LemiaCrescent Yeah I feel you But overall keep up the good work!
@@KokkoiiMatoku Thank you so much. And I do appreciate your comment/thoughts.
@@LemiaCrescent No thank you for even hearing me. I appreciate you for listening to me.
There are so many affordable alternatives for alcohol markers now... Ohuhu, DickBlick, Winsor & Newton, Master Markers, Spectrum Noir, Twin Touch, and more! Part of me wishes that these had existed back when I started buying Copic markers. I didn't know a lot about them but I loved how smooth they looked on other people's artwork. I (stupidly) spent $100 getting a used set of 70 ciao from someone without any personal experience using them. Luckily I do like using them but I could have spent less and gotten more with things like Ohuhu or Blick markers. I love my Copic markers but starting out it's very difficult unless you do invest a significant amount of money. It's the only drawback about alcohol markers that isn't subjective; you just need so many colors and shades to be able to blend.
Also another negative about Ohuhu (and any marker company that only sells sets) is that if one marker dies you have to buy a whole new set. There are no refills or individual markers.
Also also I love you 😘 another great honest review!
U can use copic refills, still pricy but that's what I do, out of the 300 something markers they have they are bound to have at least a similar color to the one that dried out in the ohuhu\other brand
I thought they were compatible with Copic refills.
This character is giving me Howl's Moving Castle vibes and I love it
I agree with you on the fact that Ohuhu needs to have lighter colors because 2 months ago when I was making Detroit Become Human fanart, while attempting to color in Markus' skin, it came out way to dark and I couldn't even shade his face so I ended up scrapping the drawing before I could finish the other characters.
You could just use alchol in the bottle and use that to lighten it.I believe you can put a bit of the marker ink on plastic then quickly get some alchol on it.I'm not 100% sure, but if it works tell me.
Honestly so excited for tomorrow..
I ordered them today and my 120 set are coming tomorrow!! So excited to use them!
YAY
The coupon thingy is really nice they really care about their customer
Also this artwork is a beautiful!!!! I love the color scheme!!!!💖💖
ah! i’m so happy to see so many more youtubers reviewing the ohuhu markers. it makes me happy to see people using more inexpensive supplies, since that’s what most of us young artists use.
great work, as always, lemia! thanks for the review!
Hi! I am a new subscriber, I love your videos! :D
Thank you so much! Welcome. ^^
I love the way you give an honest review!
Oh wow, I’m absolutely elated to hear that they have plans to produce brush tips! I‘be been using Copics from the beginning of my marker work, but I just might have to give Ohuhu a go when their brush tips come out. I’m sure they know that the vast majority of alcohol marker users want brush tips, but they’re more expensive to produce and had to get off the ground first. With their focus on customer service, they may _one day_ give Copic some decent competition. Copic hasn’t done too much with their product lines for a while, and decent competition would certainly help push development. Maybe they’ll reintroduce the wider range of color liners. I need a refill for my turquoise and I want a brush tip pink liner!
That picture looks fantastic Lemi! Also great review
Oooo Lemi uploaded!!! Love your videos so much!
Your art is so beautiful! 😍
Great Review Video! Thank you for all the precious inputs. And you are saying the name correctly (thumbs up). :D
Thank you for your honest review!
Oh my god, that was so pretty!!! Amazing work, Lemi, it was so nice to see another video from you!
Gorgeous work❤❤
This had a lot of information a lot of other Ohuhu marker reviews didn’t! These are good things to consider. I think that I’ll still end up getting them, especially as a beginner. But thanks for the information!
Yaaay I love reviews from you, as always.
Love the Drawing!
I love my Ohuhu markers. For me, their inks have been a lot smoother than Copic. That said, I still prefer Copic over Ohuhu because of the brush tip. Their Instagram said brush tips are coming this year. I think they said spring? That’s really soon, so I hope so! And yes, they do need lighter colors badly! Most markers have very few light colors.
You’re totally right about 6 and 9 and such. It’s really frustrating when you are making your swatch card and then trying to match them up later. Why don’t they put a line under those numbers to let you know which one is which? Most companies with numbering conventions do this. The barrels are gorgeous, though. Much prettier than other markers. The silver writing is really nice.
I love this drawing 🤩
Ah my gosh! Lemi this one is amazing! I always admire your use of color. Especially here. Also is that glorious silver the sakura gelly roll you have listed? I don't think I can live without it! It really makes the picture pop!
Ohuhu has a different numbering system and a lack of lighter colors because they are not a usual blending marker. As you could probably tell from using them, its meant for flat and alternating color rather than the whole monochromatic scale of one color. That being said, the grey scale in their other sets is wonderful and I overlay that for shading.
Wow! 💜🧡💛They are very impressive!
40 seconds in and i already had to check the date this was posted. I've seen this review at least twice before and i couldn't remember who did them ha ha. I liked this review because i know that Lemi uses 3 different shades at least, some times more, on any one area and she blends really well, where as other reviews it was only a light and dark tone. Really liked this review and i would agree if your starting out, the results look just as good as copics in terms of blendability and lack of streakiness.
Gorgeous work as always lemi!❤
Also when r u going to stream again i miss them
Cookie❤❤❤
These and prisma color markers were the first markers I ever invested in. I hated the prisma at first and only ever used the ohuhu! My friends even said that they like ohuhu better. Then... I got my first 3 copics and it changed everything. I bought more and more copics and stopped using ohuhu and started using the prismas. After a while I started to miss them, but mine had dried out and my style of art changed. Now I’m getting more ohuhus. Markers are confusing af
It's nice to see you upload a video. REJOICE!
Great review! Hope you are doing well. Miss you!
LEMMMMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!! I MISS YOU!! HI :D
Oooo look who I found!
Can't wait to buy it :)
Everybody loves brush tips but I have Ohuhus and dried out Crayolas and Sharpies lol so I have not experienced brush tips. Once they come out and my Ohuhus are starting to die I'm going to definitely buy them. 🙌
Very cool video!!
I bought these about a year ago, and I really liked them, but nearly all of them dried out within a few weeks (I made sure all the caps were on tight because I wanted them to last). I bought the eighty set, but maybe now they've improved the markers? Anyway, great video :3
Yes they need more light colors
they should make a 20 set of pastels ( new colors ) and a 20 set of skintones light and dark ( old ones ) i would buy those sets
120 set is finally out 🤩
Cute!
Can you check these out on a render sketchbook? I wonder if it would feather then?
Ohuhu you uploaded ❤️
I got the 60 Marker Pastel Set and I got the exact opposite problem, I have enough vibrant colours, But not enough skin tones and colours to shade with. My best solution to this is using mid-toned marker paper.
I recomend using cardstock, its cheap you get a lot of it and its almost as good as marker paper
the ohuhu markers don’t bleed or feather on my 7$ sketchbook from walmart
stargirlsasch lmao same
brand name of the sketchbook pls??
PastelFantasm it’s probably canton, I have been using it since the beginning and they are a very good sketchbook brand. I got it at Walmart for around 7 dollars
Lovely art as always I:B
I bought some if these!
The new brush markers are coming out in the summer 2019😆👏🏻
Hi i have a question. Have you done or would you do a drawing and coloring of Harley Quin?
You said it correctly
Sixty bucks seams a little expensive to figure out if you like the media or not. I want chisel tip markers!
First artist i hear them say the ink of the marker feathers out, never seen that either thats weird
i went on the official ohuhu website and they had this exact 120 set for 10$ :)
Love the video...But I SERIOUSLY hate how I bought the 100 set like 3 weeks ago and now there is a 120 set like...
Love your videos!!!
xox,
Odd_
I use the 0 to make em kinda lighter, it works for me🤣🤣
I want these 😂😂
Oh I finally found the same set I got lol
Ur amazing
When do these makers come out?!???!?!?
MAMA LEMIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!! I MISSED CHUUUUU~!!!!!!
(づ。◕‿‿◕。)づ💗
Oh snap another peeplette! 👊
Ayyyye Zero!
*Bro fist in Spanish* 😄👊🏼
Booyah!
What type/brand of paper is that?
just use poster paper from the dollar store, it worked for me :)
I got 1 dried out marker but lost my paper to contact them. I emailed them, they never responded.
Oh me oh my small fry! A bloody mess!!
IT'S MAH BUDDY!
@@LemiaCrescent
I won the contest, do you think I’ll get mine soon
So they need to underline the numbers
Hi today is July 28 I got the 120 ohuhu markers and it’s 50$ sorry I can’t remember the price :)
5:50 thats not true. I was looking a bit for the right paper, thats true, but you dont have to buy very expensive ones. I bought an sketchbook for 8 euro (wich is I think 10 dollar) and its so perfectly! I can draw on both sides without bleeding.I can do this because the paper is coated, its not about the thickness.
I got no reds in my kit I had to tell them to send me some reds or something
Why do you Color outside the lines😫😖
You want more pastels
Your coloring outside the lines intentionally hurts my soul! T n T
They cost 50 dolars or 55 dolars
U deserve more attention what the frick?
1:20 "I think this is really good for beginners." :v.... Pencils, crayons, regular markers, pens.
I'm kidding, I get it. XD Beginners for advanced markers!
Edit: at 10:59, you used some pen that can taint, colored areas, white. What is it called? I really want to buy one!
I hope you don't become *DRUNK* with power with these alcohol markers...😎
My ocd feels very attacked i wanna bash my head against a wall now
N J why? Is it because she’s coloring outside the lines because I feel you rn 😂
The way she colours outside the lines makes me kinda angry.
I know! it's against everything o stand for!!!
But it looks cool!
Pandamon 888 it’s killing my soul lol
lol Some days I'm just a rule breaker. ;D LIVIN' ON THE EDGE!
LemiaCrescent lol nice Pun
the company is upside down now lol
Wdym? (I’m trying to order some in time for Christmas)
"More people prefer brush tips." A big ass generalization, especially for poor artists.
