That mouth of Brazos River is no joke that current can get incredible strong along with the logs.
Glad you made it back safely Mark!
This here is absolutely what put you in my top favorite Fisherman's video to watch! Man you're insainly dedicated on every single aspect of these videos.
Really informative video. The yak community needs more vids like this to show it's no joke out there sometimes. There's a lot of no-fun days that test you and wear you out sometimes.
Dude! I was exhausted just watching your struggles! Thanks for sharing!
🤣🤣🤣 "never again." Famous last words made by every fisherman who will absolutely do it again.
Dude...that area is still pushing 30,000 ft3/sec vs it normal 1,000-ish (if I remember correctly).
There were times in the Coast Guard where we'd run a 41' boat through there and it would REALLY get our attention.
Can't believe you pulled that off in a kayak. 😮
Wow! That is insane. I wouldn’t go through that flood gate….. so many variables that can go wrong.
You’re a brave man
This is a really cool style of video I like the visuals on the maps to help us see what you’re seeing or for us new anglers what to look for. Thanks mark! Love the videos
That's the exact spot I wanted you to go with me about 2 years ago. I went in about 200yrds and then got scared because I thought there might be gators. I didn't want to go alone!
You see Mark, this is why you have to stop trying to go fishing with people who got a gas motor.😩😂😭
You will notice I stay behind him the whole time incase any problems arise plus offer a tow all the time
@@weirdfishweirdfish6636 that's what we call in motorcycle terms of being a sweeper!! Just in case something happens, good stuff!!
At least he’s fishin, where you been ?
Tim was playing clean up in case I wiped out 😅.
@@MDLRFishingMark great video as always glad everything went well on the water. Not sure if you ever tried blackened redfish opelousas its really good another idea for a catch and cook.
Crazy Crazy! What a ride. Glad you made it back safe.
Wow, Mark, that was tense at best, but turned out to be a good workout video! Glad you made it back safe! Take care and be safe!
Thanks 👍 Christine!
I was there on saturday on my boat . Man when the water is like this is nothing but sail cats and strong waters
That extra long flood gate makes quite a difference. There are a couple you have to navigate to enter the intercostal here in New Orleans , the gate system is about a third as long and when the tide is a foot and a half and above it will churn up 2 to 4 foot swells inside the gate.
You just made a hell of a video for old town
👍👍👍👍👍tuff run glad you made it back.
Man you ran a marathon on the water !!! Tight lines-😅 PuraSal Angler 🙌🏻
That was a scary video! Glad you made it thru okay. I love watching your videos!
Lesson learned … glad yall made it back safely. Bet your wife was pissed😂
That river can be brutal after a storm. Really nasty. I take my boat out of Freeport jetties and go west to east bank the logs and muddy water go out 4-5 miles into the gulf from river.
Good work-out .
I give you an A for effort. My PDL 132 is a little wobblie, but self rights if I get off balance. It is just how the hull is shaped, I think. Take care and blessings
I’ve been through there with both a seadoo spark and a 21’ center console. In both those experiences it was sketchy at best. The debris and current makes for some pucker moments.
You need to make some out riggers I did that for my kayak what a difference 😮
Well, you learned a lesson here, not much else to say on this, but glad you and friend are ok!!
Yea I did the exact same trying get through that stupid flood gate. Atleast you had a pedal haha I didn’t
Glad you're safe. Kayaking by the seat of your pants. Does that count as a skunk or just as an adventure?
😂 both
Just wandered onto your page!!! Great stuff!! Would you happen to have a "Throwing a Castnet HowTo' video? I tried searching your page but didn't find any.
I’ll try to make a video soon.
Mr De La Rosa,
Was wondering what app you use to see the ride/fall of tide 1:48?
Thank you
NOAA website buoy information, it’s not an APP.
Thanks so much Sir. I will go find the site and get familiar with it.
Greetings from McAllen Texas
Right up the road is the best catfishing spot.
I also built a sail for it
Do you think the 132pdl is stable enough to put an xi3 on?
11:34 i promise i could get back there in a Jon boat lol
Dammit!!!
Do they make outriggers to stabilize the kayak?
Not sure 🤔
Hey what kayak do you like more the 120 or 132?
I like the 120 for shallow water fishing and the 132 for long distance trips (4+ miles).
I’ll have to introduce you to my John boat and mud motor.
Do you still provide kayak fishing tours? I wasn’t able to find it on your Patreon. Thanks
I don't actively guide. Sorry
@@MDLRFishing thanks for the reply. Going to kayak Laguna Madre for the first time. Any suggestions on what areas?
I’m not familiar with that area. Sorry again. But best of luck when you go.
be safer…i need someone to watch fish at work…haha jk glad youre safe
Water sure is dirty,The Brazos
2nd
Peddling/rowing against the current is a hassle, trying to catch something is a different story. I’ve got some tales to tell as well whooo
Mud water
Im tired watching this video! I like your friends boat better.
Your friend couldn’t pull you?
Putting your life in danger for some you tube video. Not smart.
Not worth it for the likes man
Well, that was a waste of my time.
Dangerous and no fishing - flirting with disaster..
