You should try “Suppers Ready” by Genesis. The song is Masterclass in lyrical and musical writing. And the song is much more Epic in scale and imagery.
Just... Wow. I've been waiting for new Tool/APC for yeeaaars... But as I grow older I find my tastes have changed. First time I listened to this album I was very "meh". After a few listens though... Holy moly. The lyrics, how the whole album is really an experience to be taken in to simmer in your brain... It takes you on a trip. The technicality, timing, and lyrics... It ties so well together, and leaves you evaluating what you find important in life. This is the music I've been craving. Nowadays the lack of meaning or point to songs, the immediate gratification they cater to... This is opposite to that. It makes you feel something deeper. I imagine most will be divided on this new album, but honestly I feel it's the perfect evolution of APC's sound. Matured, honed, and crafted to distill a real emotional investment while listening. Love you guys, APC!
I was the same. On first hearing Eat the Elephant I thought it was okay. The more times I listened to it the better it got. It's a great album. I felt the same the first time I heard Relationship of Command by At the Drive In and that's one of my all time top ten albums.
I wholeheartedly sing loudly along with this anthem of destruction, even though it's prophecy terrifyingly mirrors what is occurring around us all recently. An absolute masterpiece of Art & Death...
I fell in love with this band early in my adulthood, I got to see them at red rocks when I was only 20 years old. almost a decade ago now. I live for this song, I don't know what it is about it. but I can listen to it when I'm grieving, like I am now, when I'm happy, its a song for all the moods because it's a song about reality. I just love it.

As much as a meme it was with the whole rick and morty needing higher intelligence to understand, it’s pretty evident from people’s comments that they really don’t understand this band
As pointed as this lyric is, it instantly dates the song and the associated video. I believe this is a misstep because it makes the shelf life of the album that much shorter especially after the next major celebrity death hits.
Lowkey made my eyes water a bit. A lyric about age and memories that die got to me. As I get older developing a more mature outlook on life I really have started to understand mortality and what comes with it. Not the biggest point made in the song but it stuck with me the most.

I'll never say i was an APC fan before this song. In fact after hearing this, i went back and listened to older songs and still didn't care for them. BUT. This song is the best song in the history of songs. The meaning in the lyrics, the melody, the change in pace, the video. It's absolutely perfection.
Ig it is more of "what would you do if the news blasted that the end is coming for us at any time now?". I didn't read or watch The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy but Imy friends told me some stuff and this fits.
Aye, I saw the similarity too...could be the same director maybe? Need to look into that. But this one tells a different story, the people aren't oblivious, they know too well they're damned and they're living with the knowledge of their doom. Money doesn't matter, the day to day nonsense doesn't matter when death is going to wipe out you and everyone around you. And that's the point of the song. We waste our life and waste our energy and money on the frivolous. Death steals away and equalizes everything. In the black hole sun video the story was different. Filming style seems similar though which is why the director may be the same.
Hornets gospel, no ideas are fully original anymore. There are over 7 billion humans on this planet right now, we all have pretty much the same basic brain structure and none of us are the 46 and 2, so original ideas cannot be fully original. It's okay to like more than one thing.
One of
@DIV1NITAL yeah nah
You should try “Suppers Ready” by Genesis.
The song is Masterclass in lyrical and musical writing.
And the song is much more Epic in scale and imagery.
I agree best song ever sums it all up in the end don't it
What a radiant crescendo. People living like the world isn't on fire. I assure you, it is on fire.
It's August 16 2021 , this symbolism in this video sums up how things are 😥🥲
Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy. Awesome. RIP Douglas Adams.
How do you draw a Perfect Circle without any Tool?
genius!
Just don’t be a puscifer about it.

@@patricklauer4452 glad you liked it 👍!!
Just...
Beautifully said.
Yes!! I love you
I've learned not to judge Tool or APC merely on a first listen. It usually takes a few times to get -all- much of the meaning out of their songs.
Samme here.
I came here for the Guide's reference.
And I found Fallout.
So, great music
Maybe it's just the first time listening to the song with decent headphones, but damn the guitar sounds great.
The guitars are absolutely amazing live. Very extremely powerful.
You gotta see Billy play in concert. He's one of the greatest guitarists in my opinion.
@@Serotonia923 AWWWW YEEEAH!!! ^This!
It reminds me of Death Cab for Cutie, one of my faves (along with 99% of anything Muse does - lol)... ❤
Billy Howerdale is AMAZING! He is so underrated.
Hip hip hooray!
The people who need to hear this song never will.
Been a while since i was moved by a music video, 10/10
Defo felt that when i first seen this so beautiful and genius
Watched this on Revolver and man, I love it! I thought from the trailer it would be corny but it isn't. All of it is commentary on our society and us as a human race.
Ice Kold Killa Yooo what up ICK!? Man bro I swear we dig all the same music! Hahaha I see you on the Tool & Deftones reddit forums. My 2 fave bands. On there I'm "Tool tones". On here I'm "Deftool Daily" lol
I love Tool aswell
This is one of my go to songs because I just love the dynamic sound of the instruments and the amazing lyrics. So freaking good.
Beautiful song lyrically. Should have been the music playing at the end of “don’t look up” when they are all sitting around the table waiting for the comets to hit earth
The very first thought I had the first time I heard this
War. War never changes.
So long & thanks for all the Nuka.
Apparently , somebody's never played Fallout.

This is, by far, 2020's best song ever. Even, it totally suits for 2020's.
It is from 2018 actually.
Maynard says what my DNA is thought.........
Yeah, it's not new..... Feels it..... But your feelings are not incorrect........ This shit hits the feels in this time and place......
@@malvonanaliseiv8629 It's aged, like Maynard's wine. Red's sell at a minimum of 3 year vintage.
@@malvonanaliseiv8629 i know the Album 'Eat the Elephant' was published in 2018, but i think the lyrics match up with the year 2020 -the total chaos year all around the world - . This year is like a hell for whole world. This year melt our joyous hearts away, what a radiant crescendo!
Just how am I supposed to feel about this. Just incredible.
See you on the New Heaven on Earth all of you Beautiful Souls 😊💜😊
Who here thinks APC is still one of the greatest Rock bands in 2021? 🔥
Steven Martin Official most can't relate or don't have the depth
As much as a meme it was with the whole rick and morty needing higher intelligence to understand, it’s pretty evident from people’s comments that they really don’t understand this band
Still? they never were. Takes more than a few tours and three records to become great.
MephProduction LOL...Stop.
Tool
"Willy Wonka, Major Tom, Ali and Leia have moved on"
Yeah man hits home
As pointed as this lyric is, it instantly dates the song and the associated video. I believe this is a misstep because it makes the shelf life of the album that much shorter especially after the next major celebrity death hits.
Lowkey made my eyes water a bit. A lyric about age and memories that die got to me. As I get older developing a more mature outlook on life I really have started to understand mortality and what comes with it. Not the biggest point made in the song but it stuck with me the most.
That line gave me the sads.
Imma get this tattooed on me Weiner, and not even just the quote, the whole damn comment with, name, display pic, and all
Song goes hard, video goes even harder. I love it.
This is art
i finally heard this song the other day on the radio whilst driving. oddly enough it was as i was passing the 42nd mile marker on the road. i had to keep my eye out for the late DentArthurDent
Arthur Phillip Dent?
What a jerk.
A complete kneebiter.
@@youronetruegodcthulhu5043 I much prefer Random Frequent Flyer Arthur Dent.

How did I sleep on their more recent stuff?? They're still brilliant omfg
Wow, I just got a warning -asking if i wanted to proceed and watch this sensitive material! Chilling...
This is by far my favorite favorite song on the new album. I think this is the best song! This is a wonderful video!!!! So dark yet.....
Thank you for making it. You guys are amazing. And very very much in a league of your own these days
thank God lol
I'll never say i was an APC fan before this song. In fact after hearing this, i went back and listened to older songs and still didn't care for them. BUT. This song is the best song in the history of songs. The meaning in the lyrics, the melody, the change in pace, the video. It's absolutely perfection.
Coming soon to you and your family!
It is Inevitable!!!!
This seems more likely everyday in 2022. Best of luck and thanks for all the fish.
This music video is a masterpiece. The song is brilliant. Heard it in the radio and had no idea it was Maynard. Kudos sir, its beautiful.
#theend in a nutshell. I'm ready. How bout you. Thank you Maynard. Thank you A Perfect Circle. You keep my spirit alive.
I am Commander Shephard, and this is my favorite song in the apocalypse.
How we should all just learn to love the bomb.
I fell in love with this song when the album came out and this is a such a lovely music video to go with the exact imagery the song put in my head.
This is a bit like a black and white version of the Black Hole Sun video.
Ig it is more of "what would you do if the news blasted that the end is coming for us at any time now?". I didn't read or watch The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy but Imy friends told me some stuff and this fits.
Yes it is but then again Maynard hasn't had an original idea ever
David Yurch but better
Humans have exists for a few million years, everything has been done in some way or another.
A Master piece woow😮😮😮❤🎉🔥😎👍🫡👌🫶
i love this vid for it's simplicity and how they managed to take one concept and explore it with so many great linking examples.
Awsome show in Baltimore last night. Best Birthday present ever. Thank you!!!
I saw them in Salt Lake City. Extremely powerful show. NO ONE HAD THEIR PHONES. We had seats but the whole crowd was on their feet the whole time! We were definitely present in the moment, feeling a connection with the band and each other.
Jeanice Watts, Myself and my 16 yr old son saw them last week in Charlotte and its was the same experience! Everyone was so engaged with the music! It was an amazing show, and a priceless memory shared with my son!
@@ChrisWilliams-zx8gv I KNOW RIGHT!!! I went with my 23 year old son. I paid for myself, him and his roomie. (Payment for his tech help thru the years?? lol) He kept hugging me and saying THANK YOU MOM!!! Lol His big brother introduced me to Tool and APC back in the day. We would listen and discuss for a half an hour before he headed off for high school every morning. He ( his big brother) couldn't go...he was home with his 4 young children. Maynard and his bands,... it's a family affair.
You guys are parent goals, god bless both of you 💖
Maynard doesn't stagnate. It's one indicator of his musical genius. You want old APC? Those albums still exist lol. This is the new shit.
kb8610 what’s with the name calling? Your interpretation isn’t more correct than anyone else’s. You’re the problem in this world.
This song's tone sounds like the never-ending joyful bitching that's all the rage in pop culture right now. Much more evocative writing than the current "It's SO hard to LIVE so free" whinny shit on my radio right now, but c'mon, 'Atomic pageantry?' There's only one current solution to getting rid of all the atomic bombs, and it's not 'just agreeing' to not have the best bombs available across ALL different countries, religions and cultures-Sad but true, right?
ForeBear what's your one solution and who says that everyone has to just agree to have the best bombs?
Yeah and the new shit is fucking horrible. They're going to lose so much money in album sales if the entire album sounds like this horse shit.
tafuk is up with this format???
I love all of the elements in this song.
I feel like I keep coming to how relevant this is. Today is potentially one of those days. Here is hoping people can keep coming back to this many years from now to say how relevant it feels. Cheers
Wow!!! So much depth to this song & video & what the modern day world is like ♡ & what an epic ending!! Thank you A Perfect Circle!!!! You guys rock.
This is what I needed today. Thank you!
So Long and Thanks for All the Fish was my favorite Hitchhiker book.
