Synopsis: After the People Power Revolution of 1986, in which Ferdinand Marcos' political reign came to an end, freedom of press was restored in the Philippines. In the '90s, the Filipino media was known as one of the region's freest, unafraid to take on the country's politicians. Yet many criticise the quality of journalism in country, blaming it for focusing on sensationalise headlines rather than thorough investigative journalism. ABC Australia reports from the Philippines, interviewing and following prominent journalists such as TV Patrol's Gus Abergara, and exploring the young media landscape of the country.

Fascinating documentary. I’d love to make a double feature using this film and the one on Rwandan media.
