  • This is a special video, I hope you enjoy. We are going for a nice evening stroll which turn into one of the important Hindu temples in the area, the Saminarayan Temple of Ahmedabad where some guy shows me around. Upon leaving we found ourselves on a Heritage walkabout in this rather Muslim predominated area of Kalupur and finally we get to try our first Gujarati Thali - check out how this was.

Swaminarayan is a famous hindu group which is also known as BAPS Sampradaya of Vaishnav Hinduism ...The BAPS group have constructed temples all around the world ...They are second most popular hindu sampradaya after Gaudiyaa Vaishnav Sampradaya which includes ISKCON outside India
The statue which you referred as buddha in the Jain temple is actually of Mahavira or Mahavir Jain who was the last Jain Guru or Tirthankara ...Mahavira was the contemporary of Gautam Buddha of around 550 BC ....Both gave their first initiation or make their first students in Bihar state but you will find very few Jains & Buddhists among biharis ...Jains are mostly among Gujratis , Rajasthanis , Kannadas & Tamils ...I would recommend you to visit Mayapur or Vrindavan of Iskcon Temple ...You will find thousands of foreigners singing kirtaan & practicing Vaishnav hinduism
Most indians arent comfortable in English so they can't explain it properly ...Hope this little information will help you

Someone commented richest group. I think so many have converted from being JSK to Jay Swaminarayan, the sect is a mere few hundred years old and people then to forget original gods of ours and beliefs are far older, they are rich due to donations as I said many have converted! The funny think is they won’t say any other gods name other than Jay swaminarayan

While entering the Hindu temples, don't ask anybody....just join your palms together before the chest as all Hindus do and enter. Nobody would object. If someone stops you, you can reason him out or come out.... not to go inside with shoes / chappal etc or in shorts / improper dress. That's all....

And Jaipur, being the first planned city in 14th century built by the Rajput kings of Rajasthan, founded by and named after the Rajasthani Rajput king, Sawai Jai Singh, with its imposing, forts, palaces, bazaars, and unique Rajasthani Rajput architecture.

Don't miss guide the foreign people. I am also Jain and Jain is a cast not religion but first I am Hindu. First their is a tree of Sanatan Dharm which means Hinduism involves different branch including Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism. If we appear for any official documentation then their is only three religion available in India they are Hindu, Muslim and Christian.

You are just like another gujju whose name ends with shah... Both good at misguiding people... Btw no foreigner is interested in religion, most western countries are atheist by nature or by practice.. no one cares.. and according to indian cencus The distribution of total population divided by six major religious communities namely, Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain... You are not jain... Buddhism, sikhism, jainism all different religions.. people in past and present left hiduism enmasse due to discrimination to lower caste.. to buddhim, Christianity and few islam.. and sikhism was started by opposing islamic oppression... Ask for shikshapatri in English. You will get in Swaminarayan te.ple book stores.... crores of devotees follow each and every word of mentioned in the scripture.... for example... never to eat meat, never to drink, never to touch any person of other sex if he/ she is not husband / wife, never to lie, never to steal etc etc...
