in case anyone's wondering, the song you hear during the actual bank robbery is called "March of the Beggars", by Ennio Morricone of course. It took me a long time before I found out.
the whole movie is a masterpiece...coburn is a first class alcoholic dandy with verve, steiger is THE sicilian bandit par excellence, (a nice political reference from leone there, btw), morricone's soundtrack is epic, EVEN THE EXTRAS ARE CHARISMATIC, and the fighting scenes evoke the best of peckingpah- what else could you want more from a western? well, maybe not a MG42 in a movie bout the Meixcan Revolution, lol...
@@Lemonheart69 The MG42 is not a bad choice if you have no German or Austrian WWI era machine gun available. It bears a certain resemblance to some types of Maxim machine guns of that period (around 1915-16).
@@TheMusterion76 I haven't seen the movie, I just thought it was funny to reply since you said "only this scene is an absolute masterpiece" which can be misinterpreted as "it's the only good one"
The first two minutes are directorial gold. Simple but perfect in a way only the best directors can know. The cast are fantastic. Morricone's music is sublime.
One of the funniest scenes. John invented the perfect revenge making Juan the grand hero of the revolution. "Viva, Miranda!" The dialogue after the robbery is brilliant! Both Coburn and Steiger are magnificent.
Excellent double take... Steiger's disgruntled face of a disappointed bank robber, compounded with the increasing tempo of Morricone's music, looks like the face of a veteran revolutionary in the end!
I haven't watch this video in like 5 years. It holds up amazingly well. For those asking, this movie is called "Giu la testa" or "Duck, you sucker!" Thank you for watching!
No film comes even close to this for me, the naivety and tempo make it so real; metaphors populate the story line, making the moral spine of the whole film unrelenting. The toy railway carriage at 1:28 reads "Johnny & Johnny".
+BRAD PITT That's the late 60s and early '70s for you. When rock bands like The Verve use it retrospectively (Lucky Man), it takes me back to that era. It's always reminded me of sun. The Doors' Wishful Sinful.
Lovely scene, love the music I believe Guadix in Spain doubled for Mesa Verde, I recognised the tower and main sqaure when they arrive from the train station
The scenes right after he opens the doors and the crowd behind him gets bigger and bigger is hilarious.
The look on Steiger's face every time he opens a cell door is priceless.

Totally agree
I don't know why this movie is so underrated... only this scene is an absolute masterpiece!
Maybe it's only this scene then haha
@@EugeneOneguine also the dead sons scene, the encounter between Juan and John at the beginning, the doctor betrayl...

I disagree. There's multiple scenes in this movie that are already established masterpieces.

sitting here with my dog. cool crisp autumn night. heavy lids from being tired and watching this spectacular movie. life is good
Boomer energy,
Its a good thing

I love how disappointed Juan look, like I don't want to save people I want my money!
Rod Steiger and James Coburn......perfect!
One of my favourite movies of all time
as he frees more prisoners, he becomes more an more annoyed then becomes hero of the revolution, haha
This is clearly the finest quality movie scene to date.
Magnificent movie! THE VERY BEST EVER! I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED THIS MAGNIFICENT MUSIC AND SCENES, THE PERFECT MOVIE EVER!
And the genius behind it all Sean the irish guerrilla warfare specialist. Who joins the war in Mexico.
Great story line my favourite western.
As a Mexican I have to say this movie is the most accurated one to what was the revolution.
"Most Accurated"
Also Sergio Leone: *Put a MG42, Browning Hi-Power & Astra 400 in the Mexican Revolution**
@@Doctor_Magnumyeah besides fucking film losers little nitpicks it is. it was not a revolution of sheer need it was something else.

Funny thing of this whole movie while James Coburn has the Deep Gravel raspy Irish accent going Rod Stegiers got the Puerto Rico accent going lol

Genius, there is true irony in this film, however it does never become parody, and is harmonically mixed to dramatic aspects ...
My favourite Leone/ Morricone film - a classic !!!
In the act of freeing oneself, one frees others.
I don't wanna be no hero of the revolution, i just want the money!
Fist full of Dynamite is one my favorite Spaghetti westerns it tells the chaos and horrors of Mexican Revolution, Coburn and Steiger were excellent 👌
The music is lovely!
"A don wanne to be a hero. All A wan is e money" Can't say I blame him. Can't feed the big family of his by being a hero.
Confusion..Revolution.
the violin starting at 0:40 is haunting

I like Juan's accent.
I think it's actually Puerto Rican rather than Mexican.
What a great movie. I hated to see it end.
In questa scena c'è tutta la magia possibile del film il sogno idealistico di Miranda la genialità di Mallory stupendo!!!
4:00 And just like that you're dead. When you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk.
Ironic that Juan is supposed to be played by Eli Wallach (Tuco).
James Coburn was a badass
best photographic moment ever!

Lovely scene, love the music

Clássico dos clássicos!!!!!!
Striking music and a great punch line.
Great soundtrack to this movie-one of Morricone's best !
If only Sergio Leone made more films!!!

The music, from 4:52 to 5:01 sounds a bit like the Israeli national anthem but much faster.
It's called "March of the Beggars", if you wanted to know it's actual name.
It’s a extraordinary mixtape of sounds, by Morricone,
At 5:29 you can listen Eine kleine Nachtmusik notes of Mozart
My least favorite Morricone soundtrack.
