I've been seriously considering buying an X195, but today I read the warranty, and it just about pisses you off that it's a run-of-the-mill RV industry warranty. what surprised me is they specifically say they will not warranty the wallsfor rippling caused by thermal expansion or contraction or moisture penetration, unbelievable. If they're that well-made, insulated, and top of the line construction materials, then what are they trying to hide?
So honestly, what do you see about this that is $60k more than an OVR/Intech or MDR or (insert your other favorite brand here). I like these a lot, looked at one and build seems pretty nice, interior is great, but I just cant seem to convince myself to spend $150k on one.
Really interested to hear your perspective and what you find to be significantly better.
While you were in Moab I was at your show room and looking at this trailer. I did some research on the cost of maintaining the toilet came to about $1.00/ flush for the liners. That is a deal braker to me. I was told that if it was replaced with a composting toilet that would void the manufacturer's warranty. Convince the manufacture to option a Nature's head composting toilet and I will drive back from Oregon and see if we could have a deal.
The way that you prepare and give information about RV Trailers is amazingly perfect!❤
Thank you! 😃
WOW 🤩 the full tour knocked at my door 😀❤️ awesome Shane.
Thank you for amazing reviews, insightful, entertaining, journalistic style without bias, thoroughly experienced yourselves... Love what the team is creating. 😎😃
Thanks Samantha! We are always appreciate your comments and feedback. :)
I think it's just so cool the process ROA goes through to make one of these tours. They actually go and camp in the trailer first so they know what they are talking about, unlike so many who have never taken out a trailer but are still selling them. Independant cruisemaster suspension is also really nice.
Almost perfect. What I would like to see is a version with 2 twin beds, with a center night stand that can be tucked away, then be filled with cushions to make a king sized bed. Its would allow you to have access to the storage from the outside via panels. You could even consider a bunk house version. I also prefer a normal toilet.
The work that went in to developing this new line of trailers was tremendous. The results have been excellent. The X195 and R1 are incredible trailers that are thoughtfully designed and extremely well made. We're bummed out that Roamer1 didn't work out for us in our situation. No trailer can fit all needs. When you think about what was available in the US just three years ago, and now look at the quality of these Imperial Outdoors models, the progress is stunning! Unlike some of the other "legendary" off road trailers on the market, you can actually view an X195/R1 in person, purchase one, and get first class service on an ongoing basis. Well done!
Would love to see more RV companies in general implement more dog-friendly ideas...like a dog door, screened door with a protector at the bottom so dogs can not ruin the screen, etc. These RVs are definitely one of my favorites and I'll be keeping an eye on them for when I finally am in the market for one. It would be cool to see a lift bed as well and seating under the lift bed.
All you need is a reverse-osmosis kit to reuse grey water as fresh and you can stay out until you run out of food.
ROA is the only RV/Trailer channel I subscribe to, and I have been watching and researching for 5 years and still have not bought because all others only make the units look great, but never use them and report their "experience of use" while in the field. I really appreciate real world use and reporting of the actual problems experienced while using the product. Long before you installed the first Cinderella toilet, when I was ready I was going to ask if that install was possible for an X195. Its just that living in the Dallas area and running 3 different companies, I don't get a lot of time to shop out of state....Do you plan on doing any RV Trade shows in the Dallas area and include an X195?
Thanks so much for the comment. We really appreciate it. Open to any and all feedback. :)
yes they give a true indeepth look on mid to full off road/ grid trailers .
His feedback was to make videos of you off-roading the campers and then give feedback on it…
Every time I take these trailers out it amazes me how comfortable they are to tow, how capable they are on the trial, and how long they can go off the grid with ac!
How wide is the back box for the cinderella inlet and exhaust??? Found the bowl measurements....already figured out the roof exhaust location...just have to move the small corner panel to about an inch or so from the maxxair.......k. think I found it...rounded up 14 inches?
@@williamwhitbread1885 for the travel Cinderella?
@@michaeldavis3118 yes...just trying to figure out if it will fit or definately not fit..
Trailer looks amazing! Love The Suspension. What I hate is the awning and the bed. I like the look of this more than the pause but probably would buy the pause for the bed.
I know this is meant for extreme conditions, and it may seem lazy, but it would be convenient and simple to have a fully automatic awning
Honestly, watching the ROA videos, I have to unlearn what I have learned from all other RV videos. Thanks team, for providing outstanding / quality / real world informative videos on the products I'm interested in. Even down to the "what hitch is the best".
Your right, they do things totally different and do all they can to really get to know the trailers.
Oh wow, we asked and here it is. Thank you so much. Please allow me to grab some tissue cos i will be drooling the entire time LOL
Lol! 😂
Just wanted to say thankx...!!! Been waiting for this tour, love this trailer..perfect for the wife and myself.. with the occasional grandchild..more just the 2 of us....can also understand now why the cinderella would be a very tight fit between the counter and the door..would have to replace the sliding door with one of those pvc bifold doors to possibly make it work..
As always, Thanks so much William for your comments. We are hoping to fit a cinderella in the future. :)
I just have to say. Suggesting any 1/2 ton truck will work and including the Raptor and the TRX in the same sentence is nonsense...LOL With a kitted out X195 you'd have just about enough payload left for two people and a tank of gas while other 1/2 ton trucks would be better in the payload area they will suffer in power especially going over mountain passes. I absolutely love what you guys do and your company ethos...keep it up!!!
That awning looks like a joke if it's raining, especially if you are in the back working at your cargo box like you say, there's a foot gap between the awning and the RV, water would be running off the roof splattering on top of the cargo box or if you're sitting out front it's probably dripping down the back of your collar, they need to replace that with some thing like the Pause RV has
Found you guys after checking in with BTBRV. Come on up here to Alberta, Canada for a winter camping session! I have camped in -40 c but never in something like that! I'll be your guina pig
Love this one, just wish they had a twin bed version (ideally with all the electronics under the driver’s side bed, and open storage on passenger’s side - maybe accessible from the outside for a camp kitchen?). Also, can the window shades be flipped? I prefer the blind to open up from the bottom for privacy.
It would be easy to turn them around. The manufacture makes them to go on the way you see it in the video. But yes, it would be pretty easy to flip them.
Totally buy a twin bed version.
Love the trailer, hate the awning. Like the awning on the Pause far better. And yes, for me anyway, could be the deal breaker. 😉
I agree. I think the trailer looks better than the Pause. But some of the features are a miss in my mind. I want to push a button when I get to camp.
This and your Roamer 1 are my new favorite travel trailers. Truly the Earthroamer of TTs. For my family of 4 plus dogs I would love to see a bunkhouse version that was in the 22-24’ range. We currently own a Lance 2185 and something like this with a similar flor plan would be the ultimate family hauler.
Really nice trailer but for the money you get WAY more with the Bruder EXP 6, 7 or 8 trailers. the EXP-8 has double the wheel travel, 12 inches, holds more water, has a larger solar system, 1680 watts/5000 watt inverter and can sleep 5 people. It has way more storage space. It also has an indoor and outdoor kitchen along with a washer/dryer for your cloths. The remote river water pickup system is a must when out for weeks at a time. The pressurized air system when driving in dusty conditions is also great. Saying its better then the Australian trailers is kind of an insult , just saying. Great video, thanks!
Yeah, but this is base model. And it is $50-$70,000 less than the Bruder. We could easily add everything you mentioned and still be less. Plus the insulation is ten times better. Bruders are not better for Americans. In the middle of the winter the outside kitchen will freeze and at that point who cares if you have a 5000 watt inverter. In many ways this is better than most Aussie Caravans and in some ways I can see how you don’t agree.
Loving this trailer! It looks so comfortable 👏👏👏
I really enjoy and appreciate the content you guys provide. It has been very helpful as I have been considering a new trailer. That said, I was wondering if you would consider producing a video review for off-road trailers you don't sell. There are a few other manufacturers that some of your potential clients might like to update at your shop. Would you consider reviewing the new Ember, Overland Series, or the Intech OVR Expedition? Thanks in advance.
Hooray! So stoked to finally get the official tour!! Thx! You didn’t talk about the induction stove… why is it good/bad, saftey factors (doesn’t it get immediately ‘cold’ when you remove the pan?), electricity draw, other tid bits? And can you put 2 pans on it at the same time? I heard that the 2 burner options can sometimes be tough to fit twos pans a once :(
$2,500 more than I paid for my house. It’s also much nicer than my house and includes free electricity. 😂
This thing is awesome! Wow!
Well done!!! The only negative comment I can come up with is the longevity off this beast!!!
The new airbag suspension looks amazing
Wow! That's cool
Great tour, amazing camper. Now, which one to buy, between the X195, Roamer1, or the Pause? I love the garage in the Pause especially since I am planning longer 3 to 4 month long trips. I love the cold weather capabilities of the X195 especially since we will be traveling to AK to see family there quite a bit. But, from what you have shown of the Roamer 1, it has some amazing features like the outdoor kitchen and the 2A capability. Now if I could only have all of that in a single unit, I would have exactly what I need. I know there is no one size fits all solution but it is a very tough decision.
I’m excited for your hot weather A/C test in Death Valley. If you can keep it at like 78° all day and night in the middle of summer, I’ll sell my house in Yuma and live in this thing. I’m considering the X145 too.
Thanks, this was really in-depth and helpful!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks
Dang,this trailer is a beast!
great video!!
Love this trailer, it will make it a tough to choose between this trailer and the Roamer 1 trailer.
Really nice video!!!
This one + Starlink and my dream of being a completely offgrid nomad will become true 😍😍😍
Looks great!
Thanks!
Another great video from ROA
Thanks again!
Time will tell it it was a mistake purchasing the X 195. Loaded with water and other supplies ours runs across the scales at just under 7,000.on the axels.
excellent video, and awesome trailers
Thank you very much!
Great walk-through videos on your channel (which I am now subscribed to). Do you think they would ever make the X195 with a Murphy bed/couch or theater-sitting combo where the bed is now? Maybe this has already happened, but I would be greatly interested in this type of setup. Thanks and keep up the good work!
There is nothing right now planned for that kind of set up in that unit. However, another unit of ours the Pause by Palomino has a murphy bed/couch set up if you like that configuration!
How safe is it to have the batteries underneath where people sleep? Wouldnt EMF from the batteries be a problem? or is the batteries encased safely to eliminate that issue?
Any issues with mice or squirrel eating wiring on roof from solar system? And also when storing trailer in covered space or garage is there anything specific that must be done to maintain battery life?
I love this trailer...but the bed is a dealbreaker for me and my wife. They could have easily made this a true Queen or an RV King size without an issue. No one needs a "walkaround" bed in a narrow trailer like this. They really need to make this an option to upgrade to a wider bed for those of us who need the space to get a good night's sleep.
Just subscribed after watching Big Truck Big RV video on your ROAMER 1 (chefs kiss)
Thanks and welcome to the channel! :)
Just saw one of these that was plugged in at an RV resort, seemingly for the whole winter by a snowbird. It had the roof covered in solar and I assume the huge lithium pack as well. I had to wonder why buy such an off grid rig just to plug it in like a regular trailer. The park was in the desert and surrounded by free camping areas too.
as a Canadian we get very cold up here.
and 40- below is cold weather..
Great trailer. Thanks for the detailed review. I find the doors and locks insufficient for worldwide travel. Other than that, cool rig!
For all interior Lights, it would be a nice upgrade to have multi colored interior LED Lights, so that you can change the interior Lights to any color. Why not, when a Customer is paying over $125,000.00.
Maybe see yall this fall
I just wish xplore made this trailer in hotrod red. Haha
Is a microwave or convection an option?? You never mentioned it as an option
Taken tree iterations to watch this…questions
1 I see race stripes on the windows. Can that buff out??
2 seat cushions. High density or ??? Looks thin’ish.
3 induction cook top. How much battery does that consume on Aco? Can it be swapped for a gas top?
3 can the toile be converted to an incendiary type?
4 what gas generator would fit in that back locker? Or extra propane tanks?
Thanks for the comments.
-We already buffed out the stripes and they came out good.
-Seat is 2”
-cool top takes 1000-2000watts. IO won’t approve switching to gas top.
-Toilet won’t fit.
-2200 watt Gen will fit on the back box. Designed to fit a Honda 2200
Great van, shame that the chassis is not hot dip galvanised, it would be very susceptible to rust with regular beach camping when the salt and sand gets inside the chassis.
Love the layout, and interior finish.
Just oil spray it. This is why horse trailers last forever.
Is there a reason the tongue needs to be so long? 7+ feet?!? It’s such a compact box, but still ends up being a pretty long trailer.
Easier to back up.
Propane Free, is it possible Shane? Like this trailer or better yet, Roamer X, is it doable to go Propane free?? Can Truma operate electric, with the solar & inverters(which I have no idea?)
Heating is not practical to run off solar yet. Too much power. Everything else is very doable.
What I want to is a video on how it is built.
Solar question. You mention that the full solar roof isn’t walkable, which makes sense, but is there concern from a heavy snow load on top of the panels if the camper is parked outside for a season?
Any RV on the market we would recommend you clean the roof as much as you can.. Glass Solar panels are not made to walk on so if too much snow is up there that would be an issue.
@@ROAOffRoad That seems… suboptimal. There isn’t an easy means of cleaning the roof with the max solar package, since the entire roof is covered in panels (minus the vent and the a/c, which are also unwalkable). So owning one in a snowy climate requires either indoor storage or parking near a structure of some sort that will allow you to reach across with a snow rake or other tool to clear of the panels. Good to know.
We would just recommend a soft long arm snow removal tool. Getting up a ladder and pushing off the snow should be easy if you do it before you get too much. Here is a link to one that most dealers use. mbrmarketing.com/the-original-shuttsco-sno-rake We would recommend this on any trailer. No trailer on the market has a pitched roof that will be good for great snow run off. :)
Nice trailer but I don’t like the stairs either I have been camping with trailers for 25 years and those stairs are a pain in the ass for a 55 year old man. I like the foldout of the doors stairs better just a personal choice.
Not to be that guy to point this out but does he not like to be on camera since he looks at the ground unless he's showing a part of the trailer? But very rarely looks at camera but the ground a lot or are there some notes that he's reading from?
14:01 you mean 2 tons? Lol
Looks like a copy of the Australian zonerv caravans🤔
You were disappointing in person at the Flagstaff expo!
Don’t understand what you mean?
I must have forgot my rabbit and magic hat that day. Sorry I didn’t perform a magic trick for you. You must not have impressed me enough to make me do magic… haha!
WHERE IN THE U.S.A IS THIS RV SOLD
We have Experience Centers in Utah and South Carolina! :)
I don't like the toilet, great concept but bad idea in a camper, I could just see me getting three or four hours in the back country then realizing I forgot to bring a spare cassette then you're really screwed you have no toilet, should've just had a urine diverting toilet, the urine can always be dumped in the bushes and the solids kept in a trash bag till you're back home or the closest dumpster, but probably the biggest drawback is $1.50 a flush that's like getting a kick in the nuts every time you go to the toilet. If you have a wife and a kid that's at least three flushes a day, and women don't like peeing outside but I guess you could use the pee powder and get two or three #1 and one #2 before flushing, it would definitely be a learning curve for a family...
If you can't afford the bags you certainly can't afford a $145,000 trailer.
I’m missing the prices of this trailers.
Everything is listed on our website at ROAOFFROAD.COM
Too bad about the 1970 tank gauges.
Dont think I'll be doing construction in the desert
Love the Good size Bathroom but MOST AMERICAN, probably won't be able to use.
Awesome off road TT! A basic (budget) option would be nice. Also a Murphy bed that turns into a small couch with the battery box as a coffee table would be the cats behind. 👍🏼
i guess if one wanted to know the price range one could not afford it?
Everything is listed on our website at ROAOFFROAD.com
for over 100k i can’t take my wife and 2 kids? wowwwww
Inside needs to be more industrial. Does not match exterior. Australian on the outside…luxury airstream on inside…..
He never explained where or how to cook food . Perhaps you cook with the solar system. He really missed the boat on this tour. Talk much tells nothing.
At exactly 44:00 he is looking at the kitchen
It’s an electric glass top stove
LOL..I sent a text and email asking a question about another Rig and no response. All of the effort put into these videos and no one responds to questions.
Odd, been making comments, suggestions and asking questions...always get an answer..
They are closed on the weekend, when did you send a message?
Lol I bug them with questions all the time and always get a response. Sure you got the number right?
We reply to every text and email. What email did you send to and what number did you text? We are closed on Sat and Sunday?
Hello RS? When did you text? What number did you text? We reply to every texts we get? Did you text today or yesterday? We are closed on Sat and Sunday.
You use the word “actually” way too much.
Wow! They bring so much value and that is the only thing you can say? How about! Thanks for creating some of the best off road trailer content. Thanks ROA
He's not An English Major!
Hate the interior. To high class looking. But they are catering to rich people.
Yeah, I already have a house....not looking for a second one. I like the simpler inside..the goal is to be OUTSIDE!!!
Then don't buy it... nothing good to say just for the sake of complaining...all you hear these days in the media...just tired of it...sorry had to be said... tongue was bleeding...
About time A Quality Camper is being built verses A Unit That falls Apart in Three Years or less!
Awning should be auto with that sticker price
Epic energy efficient zone and light. 👍🙏🦾
For a 100k trailer that does not have a automatic open and close awning is what’s wrong with these companies trying to g to maximize there profits over what it should have
Not sure I would want all those batteries and power under my bed.lol
These RVs and trailers are just rodent Nests 😂
It’s a waste of money 💰
