    Just finished our house 1700 sqft in 3 FULL DAYS/ 8-10 hours/ 2 ppl first two days. We used the same technique and I was the one that decided to cover a brick or two here and there. No specific pattern. I like that because it is not perfect and it not meant to be perfect. It’s meant to look worn.
    You are right, easy repetitive, but physically demanding. At that first day I questioned my self…not the look but the effort. Then coached myself into the second. By the third day my son was on board and we knocked it. Shoot by that day I was slapping the mortar in any kind of way and it still worked out great!
    You house turned out great! Here’s to German smear and other diy projects in our future

    I’m so happy to have found this video. I live up the road in Burleson and my brick is identical. But my exterior brick was painted in 73 and I wish I could do this to the exterior. But unpainted brick is what is on my fireplace and it’s so DARK. It’s depressing when it’s combined with the dark wood paneling. Time for an update!

      Yes my fireplace was the same brick. It turned out lovely. Thank you for watching. I hope you guys are not as hot as we are down here.

    Roll Tide!!♥️🐘♥️…
    My hubby and I are planning on doing this and I have been pondering what color of trim I want. So I’m happy I came across your video. What color of paint from Sherwin Williams did you go with for your trim? Maybe it will help me narrow it down. Thanks!!🤗🥰

    What color was your mortar? Can’t tell if it’s beige or white?

    • @deeshillcountrycottage9044
      @deeshillcountrycottage9044  Před 2 lety +1

      It is a white mortar though it is not bright white.
      We just added an addition to our house and we have to smear it too.
      I haven’t done a video in awhile but I think I will film it. Thank you for your interest.
