Polo, I feel like I’m back at a Jam band festival with a few thousand of my friends. Chillin’ with a tie-die shirt and flip flops. Time to head back to the Airstream and Mello out. Spent many a great week at them. Nicest people you’d ever want to meet and the best kick back tunes. 🖖🏼

Billie Strings to me is a Jerry Garcia reincarnated and this shows that perfectly. Garcia's roots were in bluegrass and he made those translations/transitions to jazz and funk seamlessly, I think Jerry would be proud. Trey and the band are incredible as well and recognizes what Billy is all about and that makes this even better.

Trey is my spirit animal, and I was able see a show on this tour with my son. I've been seeing Trey live since '92. Been loving Billy since he came on the scene as well. Glad you enjoyed it, Polo.

I've listened to this around 600 times (prob not exaggerating). It's magical. Idk if you know any Phish, but when trey starts playing Tweeprize at the end it made me tear up. When the horns come in my hair raises. This is a masterpiece that had little to no rehearsal. Def going to check your reaction out!

TAB (Trey Anastasio Band) is a side project for the lead singer and guitar player of the band Phish.
He is an incredible talent in his own right, but Phish is one of the most successful and prolific bands of the past 30 years. Their fans are legion and their live shows legendary.
I don’t know if you will take to Phish, though. You will certainly recognize their musicianship, but you might not vibe with them as much. They can be very jazzy and experimental at times. I can’t recall if you’ve ever expressed any affinity for jazz.
I hope I’m wrong, because I love them and you would have another bottomless rabbit hole to explore.

I've never heard this song before
There's alot of awesome guitar players out there. Alot of them are super fancy when they play etc. We can see those videos on any platform almost. I play guitar myself and drum but Billy strings is super technical. Not many people can play the guitar like he can. He can play anything, literally anything and make it look and sound extremely easy. 🤘
If you want to hear Billy’s band playing this, I highly recommend the Ogden Utah performance on Billy’s site.
If you want to know what Trey was like with Phish when I first got into them, try Phish's Run Like an Antelope from 1993. I was a UVM student when they were still playing the dorms.

Phish. Some good stuff. Chalk Dust Torture. Would be a great song to start with. Always go with the live version, because Phish is a jam band. I like how Trey is passing the torch, the same way his band was passed the torch after the Grateful Dead. In my opinion.❤

Alot of people dont know bluegrass is where rap got it's roots. Bluegrass is basically hillbilly rap . Fast country rhymes. Jazz/blues may have played a little in this as well as they share same musical rhythms

Billy is one individual to Phish (4). Definitely more talented than any individual, Trey , Mike , Jon , Page Who I've seen since 1990. Upfront , close up , Billy is particularly ahead when you compare them at their same age ......
