The real reason is because the free weekend gave people enough incentive to play the game, and then people found out it's actually really fun and is in a really good state right now.
Free weekend and finally a price worth the game, $10 on sale. Too bad there's so many bots in every game, weird.
Feel like, bfV was so good and 2042 isn’t what I wanted. But I also WANT to play bf. I waited and it came out for me to free play and I gave it a go. It’s ok…. But the progression needed and the grind is almost overwhelming though (for weapons) so I’m not sure if I’ll continue. (As a new player from the ftp weekend)
I watched all your 2042 content stoddy. Love every bit of it. I been back playing it
2042 should’ve been just portal with both Dice dedicated servers with several different builds/styles and rentable servers with Halo forge map editor. They could’ve remade every former BF map and gun and added more of both seasonally. Would have been the best FPS on the market for years (as long as the servers were high quality).
a good game 2 years later was their BF5 formula too

I bought the game at launch but stuck with COD. I am sick of COD and the toxic gameplay. I figured I would give up on it and go and give 2042 a second look and fell in love with it. Much more enjoyable, none of the hopping around and sliding. And they have really improved the game since launch. I may stay and pass up on the new COD.
90k people only on steam, there are lot more players on EA play and consoles.
if so many ppl are playing now why is there still so many AI on the teams? i dont remember seeing so much AI in this game since this new season
@Stodeh How do you feel about the side-to-side stepping while firing and having great accuracy? You did a bit of it at 7:28. Personally, I think it's lame, you should have a bigger accuracy penalty for that compared to crouching and firing. I don't remember it being such a big thing in the older BF games and I've been playing since 1942. I'm talking about the gun play dynamics in BF 2, BF 3, BFBC 2 where crouching was better for accuracy than just side-stepping.
I always tap fired in the BF games, had a "Longest string of like 119, 1,300 meter sbipe, and at the time the that I stopped playing was number #1 on the AA.
I played last night for the first time in awhile. Had a blast. Liking the game now
@Stodeh glad to see you back on BF. Would love to see you do BF1 and 2042 more. BF1 still super active and amazing. Question: how do you see enemies in these dark areas? Player visibility is one of my biggest issues with the game no matter what settings I change.

I’m only playing this game because I’m having fun right now. I think there is more improving they can do and frankly all I really want from Battlefield is another BF4, but still, I’m having fun so I play.
I just wish BF didn’t feel like such a random cluster F all the time… I feel like it’s zero gunplay skill for an arcade shooter, you spit on people and they die… it’s the same reason I don’t like COD hardcore anymore, I enjoy the competitive movement skill game… and there isn’t any in BF… it’s like trying to play at realism when if that’s what I wanted I’d play ARMA or some other hyper “real” sim shooter…….
Yesss! Ive been playing bf2042 because cod mw2 just isnt it anymore. Been getting into Bf more till mw3 comes out. Its getting fun now. Feels better and im adjusting a lot more love the content
its vastly improved in every measurable way. Had the game LAUNCHED in this state... it would have been pretty well received. It still is missing some key BF elements, but its actually FUN and plays extremely well. Great graphically, performance is great, map selection is good, large amount of weapons etc. I am curious what they will do for the next BF game, providing they learned their lessons from this disaster (at launch and some time after) I feel the next BF game could actually be fantastic.
The input delay on mkb is absolutely the worst part of this game. I'm getting it about once per minute but have been struggling through it because the game is fun. Hope dice fixes this soon..

Tbh this game would be so much better if they remade all the OG guns and maps. The 2042 stuff itself is pretty garbage and not worth touching. But the 'NO 2042' server that runs a 1942, bc2, bf3 rotation is a ton of fun. Those versions of the game feel amazing with the new movement (I just played BF3 to compare and its pretty slow over there lol) but there's only 1 server of it and its sometimes full of bots. It also gets old running the same rotation of 6 maps with only like 3 guns from each era. So much potential to bring back full versions of those games with all the maps and weapons.
I can’t play the game after downloading and deleting it multiple times. I just ping out right away 1300+ at all times
Phantom Overlay got shut down, massive ban wave in COD, so the cheaters moved to Battlefield (even if they can't cheat).

the redacted map is just the reason why there are so many people
i mean if they could just add locker and metro imagine the results. its not that hard as making new maps too
Every streamer all the time: "Oh I got the lagg.." "Oh wow, buddy you should win that"
Feel like Jackfrag is the only gaming content creator who doesn't have that "Streamer ego" voice coms. Stodeh used the be the same, watched him since BF1 days.

You have hazard zone, i think its fun but others dont like it. It doenst get many opdates either

2042 killed battlefield. Now we have players yes, but nobody choose Medic or even if they do, they don't tend to revive. Just running like a madlad cod player, flying here and there, zipping to high ground... without a tiny intention to teamwork. It doesn't have the BF feeling the older titles had.
I always revive, but I’ll have 5-6 medics around me and not one will revive me being right next to me
Biggest question to me is, will DICE add full mnk support on console im the next bf title? Because crossplay is pure cancer against pc with controller

Someone commented on battlefield being too cartoony. Call of Duty is way more cartoony, basically Fortnite now. Especially with Skeletor, Spawn, and all these dumb rapper skins 🤣🤣
Yes there are a lot of issues with 2042 but the performance is great now, no SBMM and you can actually have fun
Feels like there is some skill based matchmaking in this game, should be 100% connection based and then it would be even more fun.
It's a fantastic game.. But the only problem was the sheer size of the maps. Unless they find a way to restrict the size of the combat zone, and do something about the self-serving nature of the players....... 😂
The reworked Hourglass is now actually too small. But yeah maps had too much empty space with no cover. Like Starfield almost except bigger areas than in that game.
Bigger issue is the number of maps, lack of maps. Barely half of the previous games

Should have picked it up on sale the other day. I will not pay anything more than 10 bucks for this game. I don’t get why MW2 is not on a huge sale right now. And you do not have to tell because Activision is greedy.

Lol killing ppl a 100 meters with a shotgun back in the day… in battlefield bad company 2 you could kill ppl across the map on arica harbor with the shotgun with slug rounds. Because of the orange spotting triangle.
The shotgun is my top weapon in battlefield 3. Mc870 or whats called. But in battlefield 2042 i am not so good with it because i play with xbox controller.
And now about this game. I am so done with call of duty mw22. I hoped a long time already for a huge discount on this game because i didnt want to pay full price without knowing if i like the game. But i have told many times now. I havent had so much fun in a fps game in a long time.
What i like the most about this game is. I am mostly a support player. But now i can choose a sniper with it. And also able to revive players. How awesome
2042 has been good for about a year now
One of the big reasons I hated Apex and never bought it was the ridiculous character speech constantly cluttering up the audio and you can tell those devs were involved in this game because it is very similar. It is very annoying to watch let alone play when right in the middle of intense gun fight you hear WOO HOO coming from the character. It really doesn't belong in Battlefield game at all. Keep the tactical informative sound bites and remove the useless chatter and ditch
If you could play cross play but without mouse users for console controller users I would buy it.

Just judging from how the new players are playing I'm guessing it's a lot of COD refugees that are sick of MW2 and need to shoot something til MW3 comes out.
