- I can now turn my storage facility into a drone hub that allows me access to any item, anywhere on the map. This is my favorite solution to the end game problem of needing so many items to build each new factory. I'll use vehicles in the early game for the extra inventory slots. Then when you unlock trains you have the ability to bring many more items with you. Now that I have Radio Control Units automated I can build all the drone parts I want. And with 120 Batteries/min I can use a large amount of drones at once and not have to worry about running out.
A simple blueprint lets me place the temporary drone port and all the storage I'll need for a project. I just need to make sure I can power it on. And I can request a drone bring me any item from my storage. This lets me continue to build without having to run back and forth to my storage to get more items. They come to me.

Great design. This will still be relevant in 1.0 imo, since the void storage (forgot what it is actually called) can only store a limited amount. Looking forward to 1.0 and will try this design out. Thanks.
Thank you! I totally agree. I think the dimensional depot? will be a fantastic solution for a lot of items like crystal oscillators and the electronics since you rarely need them in huge numbers but I can’t see it being anywhere close to enough for concrete and some of the other basic components. Have fun in 1.0!

Wait, how did you start the belts using the priority switch? what kind of sorcery is that?
No sorcery needed thankfully! Most machines won’t accept items until they have been powered on.

But why the massive droneport blueprint? if you call on an item... it's ONE item, so all you need is a droneport? or do you plan for it to fetch all the items to dump at that one port each time?

Just planning ahead for future projects. When the factories start getting big it’s nice to call a bunch of drones and have it all somewhat organized. When I’m building out something like rail lines, I won’t use the BP and just place a drone port for the one or two items I need.
