there are 52 volumes total and about 30 have been republished in English, and the manga only got to volume 8, it's criminal how underappreciated this series is

Vampire Hunter D being shown on TNT when I was kid was my first exposure to anime and it will always stick with me. The novels... must read. They are amazing.
Yes, D does have manga...even translated in English! Sadly, tthough, it is incredibly scarce which is quite the shame. Luckily D's novels made it to our shores and hopefully more media will come!❤
When you started talking about D's fighting abilities you were literally showing him spam dodge rolling 😂. No wonder fromsoft references him in elden ring
It’s suspected D is around 10 thousand years old around the same age as his parasitic hand. The hand probably older as it wasn’t his first host. The D series is around the year 10,000 from what I remember. It’s talked about in the early novels. His hand is probably the most powerful creature depicted in the 2 movies considering it can devour souls and space. It just chooses to only intervene when D needs help. The books are strangely written or translated. Occasionally the writing is stellar and other times it’s amateurish. The art is always high quality though.
D isn't very masculine, hes actually supposed to be beautiful.....so beautiful he has features of a woman. hes very feminine. but I get you maybe his toughness is masculine I think thats what you meant, cuz D was meant to be beautiful like a chick.

yeah its very unfortunate that it's never gotten in any mainstream media, and that a lot of info is very hard to find. It's a great series!
