Great video, thanks for the tips.
Hi there im panneling my bathroom walls and ceiling giving it a try for first time fingers crossed. What trim should i get for along the ceiling as see some people use the internal trims and others coving? Good video helped me out alot
We would recommend using the coving, or if you want a trim free finish use some Mold resistant silicone. Internal corners are not ideal for the ceiling as it would require a perfect 90 degree angle. You would also have to use the same thickness boards on the ceiling as you do the walls as internal corners are one size both sides.
Beautiful. Are adhesives always used for the ceiling panels??
We cut the wrong edge of the first panel so the panels are fitted without stapling but no more nail, and we have end cap at each corner which had been screwed and stapled, is it strong enough to support the panels? It’s an entrance porch and not big area
If its tiled up to the ceiling, does this not matter, still same process? Or would it be better to have been tiled up to the panel? Thanks
What type and size screws would you use to secure these PVC panels into walls and ceiling? into wood battens ceiling and hollow plasterboard for walls please?
Any suitable screw size will be fine, you would want them to grab into the battens, but also a small enough head that it does not restrict the tongue and groove fitment.
I've noticed on some other videos they batten the ceiling first ,is there any advantages to this method ?
So long as your ceiling is sturdy and not coming away from the batons already behind the plaster board, you will be perfectly fine installing them direct. The main reason you might use battens is to lower the ceiling. This could be to make it easy to install spotlights or to prevent cut tiles or shower panels along the top of your walls.
What kind of panels are these?
I think it would have been better if you uesd edge trim for a neater finishing.
Yes!! As this fitting was mainly for the video we wanted to prevent as much wastage as possible. It is a personal choice thing and the panels can be installed with or without.
Um ,What if the last board is only 3 inchs wide, should u not measure the ceiling fitst and split the difference with the first board ,ie start with a half board plus 1 1/2 inchs ,this gets it even and not messing with a wee bit
We have addressed this in our New ceiling Panel Video
