This is just a shame to see all of these Generation Z poker players going off the rails. They could be furthering their education, becoming software engineers or programmers, and making twenty to thirty times what they'd make as poker players in a few years without dealing with all the grinding and traveling. They're young and impressionable, and it shows.

I would have made that last call. You played that hand almost open, you were aggressive pre flop in EP suggesting a strong hand. Then you showed a ton of weakness by check calling when that King showed up on the flop. Your opponent yet kept betting huge amounts. He seemed to look for a fold to me. In the end there was only one over card on the board and a ton of draws/bluffs

I tend to agree, opponent would have almost certainly 3 bet AK or even KQ pre given the setup (both in the blinds). He's really repping a set or nothing with this line and both flush draws bricked...
The way you played tonight although you got unlucky on the one hand reminds me of how you used to play when you were playing 13 and I used to correct you and tell you all the mistakes you were making back in the day LOL

Ethan, Your skills are fine. You need to bet more Preflop. At this level it seems 400 and 600 are limp bets for those with 45 or A8s. With bets of 1500 or 2000, Im sure those hands would had folded. Better luck next time brother.

Seems like our friend was playing a little to loose tonight. Sometimes it works out and you win a bundle. Most times you try to minimizes your losses or squeak out a small profit. Either way, keep swinging! I myself and on a very cold streak including getting my bell ring on a double board bomb pot when one of my opponents hit the case”3” on the river….unbelievable.

Why do professionals get greedy at the end of a hand where you dont know where you stand with a strong hand after the opponent checks then you continue to "value bet"??? lol, it always seems to be a 50/50....Love your videos Ethan, btw I was in that same room last week playing 1-3 games and it was a highlight. Last hand really looks like a bluff.
think you should've just checked that ak on the river. you only get value from aq and aj. everything else that can call has you beat and you're ahead of a lot of hands that fold.
river bet is fine. if you don't value cut yourself sometimes you're leaving a ton on the table in the long run.
@@tfu4434 as played there's not enough value. the board needs to pair for ethan to bet for value here (he'd lose if his opponent makes a boat, but the opponent gains a much wider calling range as even non-believing k highs can call). opponent basically only has 24 hands you get value from (12x AQ 12x AJ) and about 111 that you lose to (all sets and two pair combos). plus another 10 AK combos that chop. everything else folds anyway (or donkbets river). 24/135 isn't enough value. it's worse than putting your opponent on aces preflop and calling anyway which deep enough stacked can make sense but generally if you know you're that much of a dog you should check/fold your way out of the hand asap.

Rampage showed he was weak yet opponent kept betting huge amounts. He gave me the impression he was looking for a fold.
I often change seats if mine sucks. Keep your head in the game, fold early unless you have a good drawing hand on larger bets.

Leaving a cash game with over 70% of what you bought in for doesn't seem that "rough" to me. There's been numerous cash game sessions I have either reloaded multiple times or left early because I was stuck so much.
