  • In this video we make our first ever run to New York! Probably not the best time of the year to make our first run there, but it was an experience nonetheless.

    I totally understand the rational; but I caution against ever breaking the packing of a load to consolidate to get more loads without authorization from shipper/ broker. Reason being the receiver could easily refuse the load. That's a chance your taking, but not to say it will happen in this case. Stay Safe, Stay Blessed

      Appreciate the comment most definitely. Load was delivered successfully and receiver was aware of what was going on as well. So we were good to go. But yea they can certainly deny the load in some cases.

      @Adventures in Trucking An insurance claim waiting to happen in some cases. Folks really need to be careful what they take in from these videos. I'm glad you were able to consolidate and maximize earning. Stay Safe, Stay Blessed

      Yea we never claim that our way is THE way plus in this case it was fine as all parties were aware and ok with it. But to just willy nilly go changing the load yea it can be bad news but here it was not. Definitely a case by case thing here ya know.

    I'm not touching the customers freight. Your first load should always be profitable and any consecutive loads are just icing on the cake,

      In a perfect world absolutely.. in today’s market not so much hate to break it to you.. we get emails every day from brokers shipping FTLs for 2.05/mi or less like its good lmao

    That's the way to do it. 👍👍 did you make sure the broker didn't have a clause in the ETA discounting if not delivered when they expected it? You mentioned " it's a parcel, they'll get it when they get it "

    • @adventuresintrucking1995
      @adventuresintrucking1995  Před rokem

      As a partial there isnt a specific date or time (of course you cant just keep it on the trailer for 2-3 weeks) but when they start asking for it to be delivered by a certain day its now dedicated and most brokers know that. We told our broker whats up and they were just happy we were communicating and keeping them in the loop LOL

      I drove hotshot for 5 years till November 2021. Most parcels I've loaded were time sensitive, and a LTL is open for a week or two delivery. Getting a brocker to alow time to get another load was always a terrible experience. Fmcsa states a parcel is a peace of one thing broken down to pallet sises, a LTL(less than truck load) is loads that don't take up the hole truck. Brockers always say parcel so they can demand a fast delivery. And keep the price down.

      @@deluxetransport3208 hmm understandable.. yea we havent had that issue tbh. Never had a broker say this is partial and it has to be delivered tomorrow or on a specific day they may ask when its being delivered but never force a date. idk lol but yea i see where youre coming from too

    How would you compare the snow handling in this vs a 4×4?

      I havent driven a 4x4 in that bad of snow before so i cant say. But i can say that this adventure was definitely an experience. I just kept my speed down and stayed focused on the road
