The red actually did get nullified however Toji still felt the impact before completing blocking it which is what knocked him away only leaving him with a couple broken ribs as he described. If it had hit normally it could’ve killed him or at the very least pushed him farther back

The number 1 reason why that girl’s death (I forgot her name) was as impactful as it was. Combined with the violation that was Toji’s asswhooping turned Geto into the sorcerer version of David Duke.

I guess first? Anyway, Mai uses a revolver in the first season so there’s that. As for the Red thing, in the 0 movie when Gojo used it on the curse, its head turned into popped balloon, that along with it being a Reverse Curse Technique instead of a normal technique leads me to interpreted the scene as the spear nullifying the technique so Toji didn’t get popped but the sheer amount of energy put into the technique and it being a RCT still blasted him back with sheer force, but I may be wrong sooooo yeah
