Something else to note: The video looks low resolution because in order for the fast teleport to work you need as much performance as you can get and to do that, turning the resolution lower helps.
@@patrickowens4510 to do the fast teleport thing, you have to bind an analog button on your controller a certain way then you just hold it down, there's a lot of glitches that are used in the run but they're done so quick that it's hard to notice
I might be wrong but I feel that the in-game representation only tells barely half the story. I'd love to see cam footage of how you move in the real world during such a run. Great job!

It was a segmented run done by like 5 guys and they used scripts for the warping and some movement stuff iirc. It felt kinda cheaty imo but it was still cool to see

if you spam it, there's a delay until you can teleport again and it's rare to get even 2 teleports with little delay so it's faster to use the fast teleport bind.
Dude how did you not get sick during this run? I've played tons of VR for long periods straight and haven't gotten motion sickness once but this one flat video did it for me
well if you plan on speedrunning hla, it has to be a really good pc, because the fast teleport glitch is reliant on fps and from the other people in the community, laptops are just a no go for vr

Since its my somewhat first pc build i've just went with a Nvidia GeForce 1650 twin fan gpu which should be decent for a low or medium quality experience.
from the previous map, the transition into the loading zone was trying to send me to 0 0 0 but the loading screen prevented that, so when I loaded into the next map it sent me to 0 0 0 immediately
I'm sorry but how is that bucket throw to open the door not counted as part of the speedrun? should it not be IN the speedrun? you're interacting with the world and the game has loaded in in full has it not?
@@Lemmons_ that's... moderately acceptable... because then people in smaller spaces are now arbitrarily limited (that is, even with medium-large, they may have difficulty where you could get it because you had a very large playspace) but you were able to do it before you got full-full control, so I will concede in either case
Yo dude I'm trying to learn how to speedrun HL:A at the moment and I just wanted to know what kind of GPU you have? I know it doesn't affect run time but your loading times are insanely fast, I usually have to wait around 30 seconds to a minute depending on the level , I have an RX 580 and am on HDD so that's probably slowing it down a ton but if you could tell me that would be awesome! :)
load times are almost entirely dependent on storage so the HDD makes the loads unbearable so if you wanted to upgrade that, you should and at the moment I have a 2060 super, which runs good enough for runs but could be much better

it's done before you can actually move in the game, I used a glitch to get over to it instead, anyone with a very large playspace could do it also

the most straight forward way to do it, is to switch to shift movement and jiggle the joystick with your opposite hand as fast as you can
