How to rinse mouth after using inhalers?

In this video an answer regarding rinsing your mouth after taking your inhaler. This question comes up a lot, and some people use plain water, while others prefer mouthwash. Regardless of what you prefer, it is generally a good idea to rinse, gargle and spit with some water or mouthwash after using an inhaler, to prevent side effects. This is especially true when using inhalers that contain inhaled corticosteroids, to minimize the risk of side effects.

I have found through bitter experience that rinsing carefully and thoroughly after using my steroidal inhalers is really important. I would inhale, hold my breath, exhale, and rinse. When I did it that way I got fungal infections, and really unpleasant mouth sores - a whole series of them in fact. If you think about it the medication is designed to be absorbed in the time that you hold your breath. So now I inhale, and rinse my mouth while I am still holding my breath, then exhale and I rinse again. After that all those problems didn't reoccur. Now of course this is only one patient and its not a randomized controlled trial - but for sure careful rinsing seems very important.

I keep getting thrush. Never hardly use my inhaler, it was brand new I excreted three puffs before using and after shaking vigorously I used it and rinsed well brushed my teeth well. 5 days later metallic taste. Doc said my tongue looked a bit white so she gave me lozenges. 5 times a day I did that and got it again. Now 3 times

I have diagnosed with asthma on chest x ray basis
I have presistant feverish feelings and Joints pain also with allergic symptoms like sneezing, itching and stuffy nose.
And I am getting flu after every 10 days
My doctor stop Foster inhaler and he said this is the cause of your flu and fever.. is this tru Dr?

what happened if you swallow the water? is there any harmful effects? i have been swallowing for the past 3 days lol i'm dumb

Not a super big issue , but you're swallowing the leftover powder that didn't go into your lungs, so best to spit it out as it doesn't help your lungs and may still affect your esophagus etc..
