This looks like a very nice high quality window. I've been looking for one for my VW LT Mk1 restoration (yes, a Mk1!). This could be it!
Very smart and practical window for sure. Personally I'd vinyl wrap the normal window shape pannel then fit it so it looks the right size if that makes sense?!
Good job though 👌
I fit caravan style windows to the crafter (which doesnt have any level lines inside or outside🥵). I always take the level off the van floor, that way at least they will be level with my furniture.
They look an interesting window option👍
Appreciate your patience and attention to this project and not only. These things show how professional you are and you can see the most important thing that every customer wants when someone works on the car, that is, Blind Passion, which less and less people put in application...🙏💖👍💯🫵 a master in everything you do greetings...truly the most beautiful and practical window for a van 🫡
Just a very minor point. Metrication came to the building industry when I was in my early 20's. At the time it was made very clear that measurements were to be given in millimeters and/or metres. Definitely no centimetres which is just confusing. Great video, well explained.
Hellen, "metrication" was meters, centimeters, millimeters, etc as opposed to inches and feet. Centimeters are part of metric system with the "centi" prefix mening one hundredth so 1 centimeter is one hundredth of a meter. While industrial technical drawings and in the building trade, should be in mm (millimiters, ) centimeters are a very accepted unit for work with centimeter-friendly dimensions, like fitting a window to a van . I hope this helps
That’s a nice bit of kit! Love Motorcraft vehicles, saw a few of them at the International Campervan show at Stratford last year.
9:22 …as long as you drilled perfectly level and straight out 😂..it’s definitely a head scratcher to get things level and true on something with no real straight lines !!
I’m about to do the same job just with different style windows, this vid was helpful 👍🏼 cheers Ant
Cool stuff! Thx for sharing your experience with this. I would definitely go for a tinted one
The window looks great mate 👌🏻 very well presented 👌🏻
Does "double glazed" mean the same as a "double paned" that u hear with the acrylic windows? And do those come in different sizes, smaller?
Great product! I can't say I understand why you are pissing around measuring from here there and everywhere though?! You just centre it on the panel pressing...because that's where the eye reads it from. Did I miss something?
In this instance, I wanted to ensure that I had information that others may be able to use such as measurements and reference points. I do understand the thought process though. Leigh
Man I wish these had been available when I got my rear 3/4 sliders 😂
Would be interesting to see what internal window-trim provision they supply ?
Think it looks amazing 👍🏻
Another great ”how to” video! 👍
great job, nice to watch, well done.
Cant find them anywhere online
It’s a shame there’s not a system to “clamp” it to the panel, could help close the gaps a bit and add security.
looks good but i'm not keen on that big gap at the top even though you can fill it.
Have u ever thought about using the Milwaukee nibbler ? I was going to use mine but unsure as everyone seems to use jig saws
I would say a nibbler is the better tool. Jigsaws create a whole load of mess and you’ll find steel rusting all over the place no matter how hard you try and clean it.
Gutted! My T5 has solid glass windows already in with the bigger hole cut for them by the previous owner. I'm wanting to swap them out for opening windows and these would have been ideal, as I don't really want the usual slider windows...
Just remember that Tigerseal is not UV resistant & should not be left exposed to the sun. So if any exposed on the join will degrade fairly rapidly. Will turn grey & chalky and flake off.
Good idea to paint it then (or use a sealant that is UV resistant of course!)
When is part 2 due up?
When it leaks 😂
Nice window but transporter hq just brought out same design and you're windscreen and other windows are not double glazed
I saw them too. Nice windows too. These windows will suit a different market, and there’s a window out there for everyone!
These windows are nice but without any drain holes and not the right curve to the panel of the van sorry but im going to have to say no
Great video though
Has Leigh just frozen for me or everyone?
Why did you load a white Tiger Seal to the gun and then the video show a black one being used? Confusing?
I mentioned that in the video!
No bug screen or blind?
Yup, in the last part of the video I mention this will be two parts and there is a preview of the blinds
The ones Dan Chambers fitted on his transporter the other day from Transporter HQ are much nicer than these
I think they are only single glazed. These are double glazed so won’t condensate up
@@gazoutdooradventures Yeh but look ay them. Hideous! haha
Small compared to usual windows
There are bigger sizes available
Can you send me examples of others please
Don't look right sorry
They aren't for everyone, thats for sure!
Whilst I admire your dedication to getting the measurements inside we’re you confident that your drill bit was perpendicular to the rib on the inside?
