  • Today ‪@beachbumbling‬ will be taking a look at some of the restaurants in Varadero and show you different ways to get around the area and share some of the costs. We also will be checking out a bar that makes the WORLDS BEST PINA COLADA. We also managed to track down that mega sized beer at Factoria Varadero 43 Cerveceria.

    It was because of your videos I went to Varadero, Cuba for my first time and I'm making my 4th trip within 10 months this weekend! I really wanted that tall beer. Anywhere come up that had anything similar? Loved that park too and it's pronounced Ho-so-nay jajaja...look I'm Cuban already. Tell me more places to go I'm loving it!!

      We are so glad you are loving Cuba and that watching our videos inspired you to go. That makes us feel great. It sounds like you have found a slice of paradise. 🏝️ As far as the big beer after doing some research they have a 3 litre beer tower for $7 US at "Centro Todo En Uno" which is a small amusement park around Calle 54. So that is on my updated bucket list now lol. As far as off resort, we would have liked to try Paladar Nonna Tina (Italian) as we kept hearing good thing about it throughout the week and it has a strong rating over many reviews. We also would have liked to see the House of Rum if we had a little more time. We are almost done with the Cuba series and will be moving on to Puerto Vallarta Mexico next. Hope you follow us there. Nice to hear from you again! Cheers!

    Great video, thank you! Actually heading there in the not too distant future to meet up with some friends from Havana. Great suggestions that we are sure to try. FYI, the going rate on the street is 300/usd.I exchanged a large amount in Havana two months ago and got 350/usd from the Airbnb host. Obviously, Canadian would be different, but still much more than the 70 you mentioned in the video.

    Thanks for some great info....we will be first timers to Varadero in March, staying at the Royalton. Just wondering how much cdn or usd we should exchange to the cuban peso. Don't want to get more than what we need :)

    • @beachbumbling
      @beachbumbling  Před 5 měsíci

      @nesi2480 - thanks! that's a tricky question as it will depend on how much activity you are going to do off your resort. The exchange rate has changed quite a bit. People are getting between 120 and 150 pesos per cdn now which is better than when we were there but things also cost a bit more. From our experience we had many people offering to exchange our money so we only exchanged $200 at first then did more later in the week as we didn't want to have any leftover. We also used our credit card there at a couple of places for meals off resort and we paid our jeep tour on our credit card. Looking at the location of your resort you may want to bring some US $5 bills to ride the hop on hop off bus as they do take bills now I was told by another viewer. I mean you can get cabs too but to get into town from there we aren't sure what it would cost as we were staying closer to the action in town. Thanks for watching al if you have any ore questions let us know. Cheers!

      We loved the location and the beach! When we were there we didn't notice any food shortages like we have seen mentioned at other places but that just may have been good luck. The hotel was about 50% tourists and 50% locals. It really depends on what you like. We are pretty laid back and didnt expect a great experience but we were pleasantly surprised. You could do worse.
