  • I have always loved how PreRunners and Trophy Trucks look carrying 2 spare tires on the back, so I decided to build my own Bolt On Plug and Play version of a PreRunner Style Dual Tire Carrier using my ingenuity, 2" tubing and basic tools (Tube Bender, Mig welder, etc). Built, Not Bought
    My truck is more like a chase truck.
    I hope you enjoy the video as much I I did building and making it
    Stay Tuned for the next mods I will do to the truck, I would appreciate very much if you subscribed to my channel.
    Next im putting utility boxes on the pre runner tire carrier and maybe rigid industries lights ;) (yes, more than I already own)
    Trophy Truck Baja 1000 500 spare tire dual carrier build diy homemade vlog
    Very Trophy
    Much Truck
    Many PreRunner
    Such Baja 1000
    wow

    Between the light bar and the tires it looks like your trying really hard to hide your plate 🤣

    Cool design...just remember that's a lot of weight cantilevered off the rear to be attached to the bed...Thanks for the video!

      The good thing is that the extra weight helps improve the ride

      Oh I'm sure it does...My son mounted his spares way back on his F150 prerunner and landed hard off a jump, bottomed the suspension out (Deavers and thru the bed Kings) and actually bent the frame down slightly behind the rear axle.
      Best of luck on your truck build! :)

    You may not see this but how much did it cost you for the tubing ?

      Thanks, I currently have a very Mild Suspension Setup (3" lift Spindles, Bilstein 5100s, No Sway Bar, No Overload spring) but In the future I want to keep upgrading it

    Take your 2" strap to a tarp maker and have them sew LOOPS in thee ends of your straps. Easy Peasy. Problem solved. Use the loop to create a "hitch" and connect to tubing and you are done. No welding or re-painting required.

    Your videos are awesome! I love the comments you have in the info section.
    Especially on the one that says “the tail pipes exit on the side for towing purposes. And to make the people I pass dead” hahahah so funny.!

    looks good... but the angle of approach and departure.. it will most definitely hit the dirt with a not so steep hill. good luck with your build

      This is true, but its not a 4WD truck, and i never go on that steep kind of terrain, so im good, Thanks!!

      It always helps a 2wd to put as much weight rearwards. More traction, better weight balance if the truck goes airborne.

      @@mr.manson1195 im planning on this for my 2006 ram 1500 specifically for rear weight and traction ( and bc it looks cool DUH) its a single cab short bed with the hemi and swings its ass every which way it can every chance it gets ( mostly with moisture on the roads)

      benjamin since this video I removed the carrier, but never had an issue, you could build yours with the tires higher up

    Good work but holy crap those things stick out far! Took away your departure angle.

    • @BadAssEngineering
      @BadAssEngineering  Před 6 lety +1

      Js, The departure Angie is the same as it is with the tow Ball and Mount, and the weight sticking out helps the weight distribution of the truck, making it really stable at speed on rough terrain 👍🏼 Plus I don’t compromise and can return to stock anytime

    • @jss6060
      @jss6060 Před 6 lety

      BadAssEngineering not really, of you are on any kind of ledge that greatly changes the departure angle. Work quality is good though

    • @BadAssEngineering
      @BadAssEngineering  Před 6 lety

      Js i wouldn’t go as far as calling it good, But thanks! Its a 2WD only truck, so I don’t go off road that hardcore

    • @jss6060
      @jss6060 Před 6 lety +1

      BadAssEngineering I have a 2wd crew cab sierra with mazzulla long travel with king coilovers and triple bypasses up front and mazzulla hangers and shackles, deaver leafs and Triple bypass in the rear, 18" of travel all the way around. 2wd just means you go through stuff faster so you don't get stuck

      Is the truck used for Rock Crawling or desert racing. Rule O' Thumb says Extreme Departure angle not a big deal for desert racing.

  • @esperanzacortezvelez3346

    Que feo se mira las llantas deben ir mas adentro de la caja y enseguida sigue el tanque de gas
