- Hey guys, in today's video I'm showing you my "dream" G-shock MRG. I've wanted this one since it was released in 2016. This Casio G-Shock MRG-G1000DC-1AJR is insanely impressive in person. For those who may not know, the MRG line-up is Casio's most expensive and most premium.
All MRG models combine advanced tech with a great level of craftsmanship as they are assembled by hand at Yamagata factory in Japan. Before you jump into any conclusions watch the video until the end as this is not a typical sub 100€ G-shock.
I got this Casio G-Shock MRG-G1000DC-1AJR from Chrono24. Shop's name: Happy Time.
For any current G-shock models check out Relojeria Esparza who offer a special discount to all my viewers:

I generally think G-Shocks are a bit clunky-looking. But this one, while still retaining the overall G-Shock aesthetic the design feels refined and elevated. I can see why you wanted it.
Yeah, it's a stunning watch. Well worth the price in my opinion.
@@TheBoldHairspring it’s your watch so your opinion is the only one that matters, but i would tend to agree with you, the material, design, and execution speak to the value.
Worth every penny! More engineering and work goes into making an MRG than most swiss mechanical watches under 10k!
Wow, that’s a beautiful G-Shock ,never knew they existed until now. I just bought my very first G-Shock a 2110 all grey. I think I’ve got the bug, I’m looking out for my next purchase already😂
The quality of this video is amazing! Thanks!
I'm happy you like it ☺️
Love love love this watch. I live in Colorado and struggle wearing gloves in winter with g shock watches … but definitely want this baby so bad
Congratulation on the purchase. I would love to owned a MRG one day and any of the Master of G line. For now im happy with my GST.
Thank you! I love my gst-b200 as well.
It's only when you get one of these higher end Casios in hand you begin to appreciate what goes into the manufacturing. I just got one of the newer MTG 3000s and I'm still picking out new details a week later. The cap on the handset is another one i noticed after you mentioned it.
Absolutely! It's hard for people to appreciate one of these without seeing it in person.
Great review, thank you
Thank you for watching 👏🏻
Best looking watch ever made
It's definitely one of my favourite watches ☺️
That is a beautiful watch. The Rolex for G Shock fans like me!
Exactly! It's the same for me.
The watch itself looks better than any swiss watch in this price range.
Agree 💪🏻
I think that casio g shock its directing its stepts into a luxury-tool watches. Great review!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed watching it 👏🏻 Yeah, they've been doing that for a few years now.
I've got the black version of this watch, it's an example of "stupid awesome" in a good way.
It's a bit big, but comfortable and does what it needs to do (telling time) very well.
Have fun with yours.
I guess that's one way to describe it 😃. I really enjoy owning it. The black one is also a stunner.
Fantastic looking watch!
it's even better in person 👏🏻
Great review mate - very jealous 👍
Thank you Alex!
Great review and congratulations on the MRG! It's an awesome watch and I hope you keep it forever 🍻
Thank you Michael! Appreciate it!
@@TheBoldHairspring Hello and is there a long term update on this watch? How is it holding up and how often do you wear it?
Yes, I'm going back and forth with Chrono24 as I write this trying to get my brand new MRG B1000D-1ADR from a dealer in Japan. Slightly different from this one, and without the GPS feature (don't wan't). We've been counter-offering each other and should wind up around $1750 all-in. That model is also scarce, the used ones don't look so hot, and some are still asking $2600 for this model brand new! Yikes! Your model looks slick too, but my eyes are getting older, and I prefer a little less happening on the dial. The sword-hands and indices on the B1000D are very readable like my vintage Omega Seamaster Professional that I'll probably sell. I want bigger and chunkier to fit me better 🙂. It's funnier that a lot of people say it's out of their price range, but many could sell off part of their 'collection' and get one if wanted badly enough... again 🙂! Same thing with knives- they won't pay a few hundred for a pretty nice one, yet they may have 30 or 40 budget knives they've collected.. Different strokes I guess. 2 or 3 quality items for me, and I'm done. And when I find something I absolutely have to upgrade to.... then I usually sell off some other things to get me there. Ain't it fun?!!
Agree! I typically enjoy more affordable watches as they are fun but when I see something I really want but can't afford I start searching for a way so that I can get. It usually takes some time but when it happens it's very satisfying.
The b1000d is a great choice. Hopefully you and seller can agree on the price soon. You'll really like that MRG.
I was so close to buying this model some years ago but unfortunatly bare titanium is so easy to scratch from my past experience and so difficult to restore the finish, one other thing I wish instead of copper platting which looks a bit depressing they had it chrome or rhodium plated inside and out. The closest one that I could find later on according to my taste was the G2000CB.
Hope you enjoy it for long healthy years.
I was worried about it getting scratched up very easily but fortunately it's not the case. It's been holding up very nicely and it doesn't show any signs of wear so far. The G2000CB is another great MRG 👏🏻👌🏻
Thank you,
Good for you,
It is really a awesome watch, I had a G1000D once but the readability of your MRG dial is better although I always found G1000 dials a bit too busy, the monochrome case/bezel looks great on 1000DC however silver color or brighter color watches always appear a bit larger on the wrist compared to black ones. Let's hope they do the same thing with MRGs that they did with MTGs, making them slimmer and smaller, more wearable with elegance and hopefully different dial colors👌
LOL..Id just look at the thing its so pretty!! Leave it on a stand and oggle at it all day
That's classy AF. That's the G Shock you can wear with a bowtie
Absolutely! I'm so happy that I was finally able to get one.
Absolutely beautiful 😊
I have the GSTB200 TJ and the GSTB400 with the red dial and black bezel. Love them both.
Seriously considering the MTG1000 that you have here... it's within budget which the MRG sadly isn't. Do you feel the quality of the MTG is worth the upgrade from the G-steel models?
You already have two very nice watches. In my opinion the mtg-b1000 is worth it. The bracelet is of better quality and the domed sapphire crystal is very nice. Just make sure you can get it with a nice discount.
@@TheBoldHairspring Thank you - I do love both my GSTs and my daily wearer GGB100 - You could say I have a mild addiction 😁
Paid equivalent $230 for each of them, and can get the MTG for $520 so yup, I have access to good discounts from my dealer.
Cheers for the super rapid response 👍🏻
that video quality wow
Thank you 😊
yes it is a nice watch...
Steep steep price but that’s the nicest looking g shock on earth.
Totally agree! In person, it's even better.
hi! does it show the correct date automatically? i mean, does it detect the month and resets to the correct day when transitioning to a new month?
Hi, yes it's a perpetual calendar, so once set correctly it always shows the correct date. It can also autoadjust itself via GPS or atomic signal.
@@TheBoldHairspring thank you for responding!
I think that MRG is cool AF. The timezones around the face remind of my Protreks and the Bronze and red on the watch really set it off. I'd defiantly rather own the mtg though...only cause MRGs are just like a rolex completely out of my responsible price range.😅😅 I can justify saving for an MTG over a year or 2 though.
When it comes to feel though. How do the plastic bottom links on the mtg feel compared to the titanium on the MRG? I want to get the MTG but I wonder as to how the plastic on the links feels and wears? I put a plastic combi bracelet on my 5600 and love it but like anything plastic I worry about the longevity and long term comfort of plastic.
The mtg is just spectacular. I wanted this exact model for a very long time before I was able to get one. The resin bits on the mtg bracelet feel great. I wouldn't be worried about them at all. I just got a gw-b5600hr-1 and to the touch it's composite bracelet feels very similar.
The plastic in the MTG makes it feel more comfortable in the extreme heat or cold than the titanium in the MRG. But the MRG is more scratch resistant.
… All G-SHOCKs will last a lifetime.
Any update on the scratches on the watch ?
Hi, to be honest because of having to wear the watches that I feature on the channel I have worn the MRG like 20 times since I got it. I've worn it at work (I'm a teacher) and a few times going out to the cinema or to grab a bite with my wife. Haven't banged it against anything yet (thankfully), so it still looks like brand new.
It's a stunning watch that I would desperately like to have. The only thing that annoys me about it (besides the price) this big fat (Global Positioning System) on the dial..... A bit unnecessary in my opinion.
cool
No custom taxes for importation from Japan? That's interesting, considering that Japan's sellers usually have very good prices in comparison with European sellers.
Anyway this is a very nice watch.
There was supposed to be import tax but somehow I got lucky 🤷🏼♂️
@@TheBoldHairspring If shipped by fedex be prepared for a letter in the post asking for the import duty up to 4 months after you received the package.
@@gilessexton49 I really hope you're wrong 😬
@@TheBoldHairspring Unfortunately it has happened to me 3 times with Fedex, around 3 months after I received the package. Really annoying, I don't know why they have to do it like that. I hope you do not hear from them. That sure is a lovely watch...
Why get a Rolex when you can get one of these?
Is the MRG range the highest of g shocks ?
Hi Andrew! Yes, the MRGs are the top of the line g-shocks. However within the MRG range there are models that cost anywhere from 2 to 8000 eur.
@@TheBoldHairspring what are your thoughts on the mr g mrg g 2000r -1a
Any do you have any recommendations of where to buy MRG for someone living in Australia
@@andrewha4869 I think it's a great watch. Very complete in terms of features. 3 way sync (gps, Bluetooth and multiband 6). Personally I prefer my watches on bracelets but the rubber band it comes with is actually very good.
I'm based in Spain and I had to import mine from Japan. I'd suggest try chrono24 to see if there are any local sellers that have it in stock. If not just get it from elsewhere but be ready to pay some import tax.
This is by far the best looking G-shock watch but damn the price is ridiculous for a Casio !
The MRG Casio prices have become ridiculous. I've been offered 5K usd for mine and I didn't sell it 😁. It's original msrp was worth it in my opinion.
Can I buy this watch?
Hi, I think you can still buy it from Chrono24 👍🏻
@@TheBoldHairspring kindly send me the link.
I just looked it up but unfortunately I couldn't find the exact model I have. If you go to the chrono24 website and type "mrg g1000" you'll see the available models. Sorry my firend!
8:49 I think it's gw 9400?
Hehe yes, exactly. Definitely not 2400 😂
Awesome
Thank you!
@@TheBoldHairspring if you plan to sell in the future let me know. I have the MTG-G1000BS if you’re interested
@@hafidmohadi8811 I doubt I'll ever sell this one but I'll keep it mind. The "sunken treasure" mtg right? That's a super cool mtg. Very hard to find.
@@TheBoldHairspring no, mine is the 2015 Basel world black gold. I think sunken treasure is the MTG-G1000AR
Both are equally beautiful.
No solar ?
It is solar 👍🏻
What is the price
It used to retail for about 2500€.
Why did you not buy the latest models like MRG B2000 ?
Hi, I just like the colours of this one very much.
The MRG-G2000 doesn't come in this color combo with titanium. This MRG-G1000 color combinations is very good looking vs the black bezel on the G2000. There is also a $500-$1000 price difference between the two. This MRG-G1000 titanium is 🔥🔥🔥 and is a nice keepsake!
@8:51. It is not GW2400. It is GW9400 rangeman. I own one.
You're absolutely right man! I've no idea how come I said 2400 🤣.
very cool very expensive.
That should've been the title of my video.
@@TheBoldHairspring did you rename this or did i literally just rewrite the title in your comments section? lol.
I did yes. Your comment inspired me haha. Hope you don't mind.
@@TheBoldHairspring nah, totally awesome. haha
And here's ME ,
who had to pay 140 Euro import tax for my GWG 2000 :( lol
Sorry to hear that. I always ask the seller if they can write a lower price of purchase. In most cases they do.
Ik like the mtg watches more. The mrg watches are missing a button.
My MTG-B1000 that appears in the video has exactly the same number of buttons. Which are you referring to?
I love the g shocks but sorry there is just far to much going on with this one I live by the KISS principle keep it simple stupid I mean really do you need all those useless dials that no one is going to use I would far rather a simple watch that is stylish, chunky and expensive that is why I also like swole watches..
Hi Jeff, you're right! Besides the day of the week dial the others aren't useful much but in my humble opinion the dial layout looks cool. Obviously we have very different tastes when it comes to watches.
OK. How much is the retail???
It's been discontinued for a few years now. I believe it was about ~2500usd.
@@TheBoldHairspringCool... Issit quartz or solar??
@@evolution8662 it's solar yes.
@@TheBoldHairspring Wow more so I shld have got it......
You still can. Check chrono24 there's one for sale for 1600eur (like new). Shipping from Japan but it's a good deal in my opinion.
