- A quick tutorial on showing how to convert a standard ON OFF light switch to a 3 way (Low, Medium, High) switch. Costs about $3 or $4 and takes 10 to 15 minutes the first time. Enjoy!
Thank you for a great video! Straight to the point. No wasted words. No pretentious acting for the camera.
Thank u sooooooo so so so soooooo much!!! I just did this all by myself😁😁😁 Your tutorial was VERY helpful and the best on here on CZcams this far! Thanks again🤗 Now let me show my husband what I have done lol
This is very valuable info....I would never attempt this myself, but its good to know that my lamp repair store can do this and that you actually CAN convert a 100 watt lamp to a three way 150 lamp....many lamps you buy say only 100 Watt and I wouldn't buy them....I did NOT know that I could actually BUY the lamp I like , then have it converted...b/c 100 watt is just not bright enough for many occasions.
This was excellent thank you! I like my lamp so much and the ones I’ve seen suck. Now with your video I’m sure my problem will be solved :)
Great but naughty! Don't pull the cord out of the wall with the wire part, do it by pulling out the plug! - Helpful hint hehehe😀
THANK YOU!!!! you were a big help.
Just replaced my switch. Thanks for video.
Very helpful!! Thank you!!!
Great Video !! Thanks!! Keep up the good work!!
Thanks Doug! We got dozens of videos in the hopper!!
Great informative video. What about the polarity???? It was never mentioned. Yes it will work but its not safe if you don't get it right.
Thanks!
Good video. However, you should have put an underwriter's knot in the cord so the leads will not be pulled out of the screws if someone trips on the cord.
You didn't mention the polarity matching of the wires to the proper screws. Also, I didn't notice you forming a UL knot. The knot is a crucial safety precaution.
My lamp had one and I left it that way. Just wondering how does the knot provide safety?
I replaced my lamp with a 3-way socket lamp kit. Do I need a 3-way bulb? Is that safer than a regular bulb?
I did this very same thing, but my 3-way bulb won't work in it, and a single-way bulb only turns on third click, what's up.. any comments?
with no under knot cord can be pulled loose from sockets
True, I should do another video showing this electrician's knot. Thanks for the comment. Cheers!
I have Black Wire, White Wire, and two clear-wires???
It doesn't matter which wire guess where?
You should never unplug something from the wall outlet by pulling on the cord (as shown in this video). You're supposed to grab the plug itself. Also, there is no "negative" or "positive" wires in an AC circuit. Thumbs down.
What's worse is that he suggests that polarity doesn't matter. On a lamp it matters a LOT for safety.
Too many coms
Too distracting
