    J.C. just left St Pete Beach. I rented a Fishing Kayak from Liberty Kayak rentals on Terra Verdasco and hit the Mangrove Snapper and got 8 keepers my 1st day. The reason I mention this is... I'm advid angler from Ohio, and I have you and your vids to thank for the successful fishing trip down in the area. Keep it up, you are very blessed my friend. Hope our paths cross someday!

    It would not be a trip to the RAD Reef without a red grouper! Nice snappers. I have been doing really well with Mustad yellowtail jigs on the Mangs. Tight lines JC

    Great video I really respect how you treat the kitty’s they’re fish too. Where I’m at if people catch ‘em they’ll slam them to the concrete or just leave them out the water to die

    I have a trick I use to get catfish off the hook without having to touch them. Carry screwdriver about a 6" long with you. When you hook a catfish slide the screwdriver down its throat and grab the line against the screwdriver and twirl the catfish around the screwdriver. It will usually pull the hook right off and the catfish will go into the water. Rarely the line may break but that is not the norm. If you need to see it in action let me know. Great video.

    I'd like to see a whole snapper cook. Something about eating fish off the bones I find satisfying 🤷 Nice job JC ❤️🐟🤟

    I fish that same spot when I have my grandkids with me. we too get Mangrove Snappers ... but most times we get mulitple "Baby Gag Groupers". Never any keeper Groupers. We call that spot the "Baby Grouper Hole". My grandkids love it.

    JC if you ever get or have a buddy with a boat big enough to get 6ish Miles offshore the M1-M6 hold some nice mangs but most people don't know how to fish for them and only catch the 8-11 inch ones. "If you chum they will come" lol seriously I grab 2 frozen chum bags from all about fishing or hearts landing, I leave out of Marina Jack so those are the easiest places for me, head to one of the M reefs pick a nice spot , anchor up and throw both chum bags, tied to the boat lol, over. Shake them every 5-10 min to get that slick going and freeline or use a split shot, pitch them out in the slick and you'll be surprised the size of the mangos you'll get on public reefs. You'll catch some on knocker rigs too but those big 20 to 22 in mangoes love the free line for some reason even in 50 ft of water.

      Thanks for watching. Great tips you shared for sure. I've fished the east coast for Red Snapper. We would chum up giant Red Snapper off the bottom with chunks of Spanish Sardines. Here's one video where we chummed up some big Reds czcams.com/video/Wqqx_1VKX6o/video.html

    Hang under those bridges JC. That heat almost got me last Thursday. It was Quiet, no wind, No clouds. Blazing sun. Caught a couple decent Mangroves that were 12+ A "nice" Tarpon at about 30", got him all the way in and got pics. And at least 6 Bullhead al of them trolling and even got stuck in the ankle. Was a fun day till after 6 hours the heat got me.

    Down in Sanibel we dont keep any Mangos under 13. Most are 16-18😎

    • @RadReelingFishing
      @RadReelingFishing  Před 2 lety +1

      Are you talking about inshore mangs? Sounds like I I need to take a trip over there. Actually, I've been thinking about hitting Boca Grande soon in the kayak. I'm kind of limited in the kayak, but even my charter boat captain friend doesn't catch mangs over 14" in the area where this video was made. Thanks for watching and commenting.

      @@RadReelingFishing Yessir although its really in Captiva not Sanibel. But yea I have seen plenty of 20” s and we do catch the small ones too but if I’m keeping them then I wont keep any under 13 and usually its not a problem getting a limit between 14-18”. You just gotta know where to go!😎

    That tells you how many I've caught

    @webincomeincome8767 Před 2 lety +1

    Catfish lives matter too. Lol. They actually are pretty good to eat if you wanna mess with them.

    • @dennissmithish
      @dennissmithish Před 2 lety +1

      The hard head cats are not very good, actually they are nasty, but the" sail cats" taste better than freshwater cats. People think they are all nasty but like I said the gafftop or sail cats, call them what you want, are very good and like you said they are a pain to clean unless you know how to clean catfish. I think most saltwater anglers don't know how, including myself, because we've been throwing them back our whole lives. 🤷🏼

    You’re a little dramatic. An 11 inch mangrove is a baby, not a stud

    • @RadReelingFishing
      @RadReelingFishing  Před 10 měsíci

      Well now that depends upon what the average size is in the area one is fishing. Usually I'm catching 4 to 6" snappers under these docks and loads of them. Okay if it wasn't a stud, then it was a beast.
