Ian Ogilvy’s new role in We Still Kill The Old Way is a far cry from The Saint

- He’s best known for playing The Saint’s Robin Hood-type good guy Simon Templar.
But acting legend Ian Ogilvy said his new role as retired gangster in gritty London thriller We Still Kill The Old Way is “right outside” of his comfort zone.
In the film, which is set to be released on DVD on Boxing Day, Richie returns to London to avenge his brother’s murder.
Ian said it gave him the opportunity to explore a different type of character and was also the first time he’s ever used a four letter word in a film.
“In this movie it’s every other word which is fun for me,” he said.
He also tells London Live that he would love a role in Eastenders. - Zábava
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the devilishly handsome "Icon" Ogilvy! ;) (love you, Ian!)
Nice clip..great to see him back, was one of my childhood heroes as The Saint..can't wait to see him in the sequel to this.
USA here. I just discovered this icon of cool actor. He is cool. Watched the both the “We still” shows. Simply brilliant. Now I’m on the hunt for more movies Ian has appeared in.
And yes, he would have been a brilliant Bond. No doubt. No question one of the best Bonds.
Agree Ian is an under used actor in the uk........hope this movie raises his profile he seems a thoroughly nice chap and deserves to be more successful.. i understand the saint made him very famous but it didnt bring him much in the way of wages.....
Hi, i don't speack inglish, but i have first view Ian Ogilvy in 1978, i have 8 years, now i have 46 years, and the serie return of the saint is my favorite, Mister Ogilvy, i'am a fan, you is best actor...thanks you, i dream and remember in children 8 years...i like you Ian...
Looks amazing for 75.
he would have been a great James Bond. Not sure how he missed out
Superb actor should of been James Bond. Yet another superb British actor sadly under used like the great Lewis Collins. I was 13 when the return of the Saint first appeared in Sep 78. Expensive to make but worth it for the fantastic locations but unfortunately Lord Grade decided it was too expensive and canned the show after 24 episodes. Should of made Ian a big star but you know what it's like the muppets running the industry always get it wrong and give the old typecast routine excuse which in fact has denied the fans over the years of the talents of this fine actor. One minute he's in his early 30's and a big star then apart from the odd early appearance on game shows like call my bluff etc he just disappeared from British screens and the next minute he's 72 omg what a waste 😢😢😢😢 I always loved the Jaguar XJS it was the perfect car for the Saint, low, mean, fast, British and white, it was like something from another world compared to my dads mk 2 cortina estate😃
Looks a bit like Brosnan. Great actor with great presence. Too bad he hasn't been in more mainstream movies.
Wait this guy was 71 at the time this interview was taken????
He looks younger than that, I thought he was mid to late 40’s/early 50’s.
Ogily was about the only male actor in 1986 who said he wasn't in the running for Bond. He said the producers were looking for another Connery, not another Moore.
Was keen on him many moons ago but he's not a very nice man! He couldn't stand Groucho Marx for his self satisfying manner - not seeming to realise that Groucho's manner was created by writers. I suppose like most who contradict themselves - Ian is fine to be self satisfying but no one else!
