Excellent translation. But a bit too slow.
The meaning of "Ich trage dich über den Fluss" (I'll carry you over the river) is lost with "I'll carry you across the wall", since the river is a metaphor for the river Styx, which is a symbol from the Greek mythology for the division of Life and Death.

wow that was surprisingly good! Besonders wenn man bedenkt, dass Du dir Freiheiten bei der Übersetzung genommen hast um den "Geist" des Liedes zu transportieren. Das ist die wahre Kunst der Übersetzung und entsprechend schwer - tolle Arbeit!

und du hast recht, bei der Überstezung eines Liedes darf oft mehr Freiheit herrschen, weil mehrere Faktoren (Rhythmus, Sangbarkeit, Sinn, Reim etc.) mit einfließen Ich habe meine Masterarbeit über Liedüberstezung geschrieben und mich lange damit auseinander gesetzt. Wirklich sehr spannend!
