Very excited to share some opening thoughts on the announcement of the new high spec and retooled #British #Rail Class 08 diesel shunter locomotive model in 4mm 00 gauge / scale. Including footage from the display at this years (2024) #DEMU showcase event in Sutton Coalfield, West Midlands UK.

As an owner of one Lima, and two Hornby Railroad (the 70s tooling) 08s, I think the best news for me is the likely pushing of more of the current Bachman and modern Hornby ones on to the second hand market at a sensible price :D I don't think you'll see change from 200 quid for even the most basic model in the range of this new one. Looks great, but probably over detailed for normal model railway viewing distances.
