If you like olives they would be nice to add too. I’ve made this before and it is great to feed your family to make them feel like you love them even though you are so tired you could cry.

this is so good... this is on my households meal rotation. i like to roast my grape tomatoes in the oven, smothered them in olive oil, salt, pepper and oregano for 10 mins at 500 degrees fahrenheit. really tasty with spinach if you dont have fresh basil!

I make something very similar when I fancy some easy pasta recipe. If you have more time you can fry onions, then bell peppers untill very soft, and then add the rest of the ingredients. Sometimes I blend everything into a sauce for pasta adding more pasta water or cream or milk. I have also tried adding carrots and butternut squash, works great too.
Use (vegan) butter, a splash of white wine. Black pepper, add the chili flakes in after the tomatoes (they take a while to burst and the flakes will burn before then) and you’ve got a perfect dish.
I would add the garlic later too.
Yeah i bloom salt, pepper, a bit of Italian Seasoning along with the Chili Flakes. Plus i use Olive oil and for fun i add in Beyond Sausage. Will try it with Farfale next time.
Sure, if you roasted the garlic first and added some shrimp, didn't burn the flakes, didn't put the lemon juice in too early (gets bitter), chopped the herbs more finely and added them near last, okay and didn't add the cheese so early (clumps up and dissipates). You know this isn't much of a recipe and it won't fool your date either; one and done...
I've done this for a long time. Wonderful, easy dish. I stepped it up by sautéing extra large shrimp in the garlic, then removing while I added the tomatoes and let them break down a bit. Added pasta water or broth if available. Returned shrimp and finally added baby spinach until just wilted.

Nice! I prefer just the zest of the lemon instead of the juice because its more fragrant and less acidic but love this stuff :)

What about spinach instead of tomatoes (obviously, you’d had to put it in later than the tomatoes) and tagliatelle? I absolutely love this combination.

Cooked garlic don't give garlic breath.
if you're both eating it i think it's romantic! i read about a lady once, whenever her partner came over and he'd eaten something garlic-y before he'd bring a garlic clove with him and make her take a bite so they could make out in garlic bliss. idk why mouthwash wasn't an option but i think it's weirdly sweet

I like to cook onion and garlic with red pepper on hot oil first until it absorbs the flavor. And I prefer the tomatoes cooked until they fall apart and turn into the sauce itself.

Loved it but I used large tomatoes so I can remove the skin. And I wasn't listening properly so I added spinach instead. It was good though. 🥰

Fun fact, Farfalle means Butterfly, there’s a different shape (the same base shape but with smooth edges on the wings) that is called bowtie but I don’t know the name. Perhaps it’s the fact that you are enjoying the beauty of butterfly shaped pasta that makes it the most romantic pasta shape

Killed the pasta by letting it rest, pasta water is used at the end, burned the garlic, didnt cook the tomatoes long enough to release the juice, and you must never cut the basil, always tear it. A little white wine would have helped also. Not bad for a beginner though.
