The Backstage Sessions: Fay Hield - Oak & Ash & Thorn

There's been many a good song sung in the bar at Cecil Sharp House and anyone hanging around after Fay Hield's gig on Thursday 25th Ocober was treated to something very special. Fay and the Hurricane Party sang Peter Bellamy's version of the Rudyard Kipling poem Oak & Ash & Thorn.Thanks to both Fay, her band and the EFDSS.
The Backstage Sessions are filmed in informal settings with a minimal amount of fuss. Kat uses her Samsung Galaxy SII for the recordings, but what slight quality may be lost from the recordings, hopefully a sense of intimacy and a sneak glimpse at some rather lovely moments are gained. As a longtime fan of Peter Bellamy who saw him performed several times in the 70s, I am so glad to see his work being revived. He left us much too soon.
