    Thanks for putting together a great overview on Chubby!
    Absolutely awesome to see you finally got to check out our products in the States! We know you're going to get great results every batch. That's also a really good tip about the temp sticker! Chubby also cleans up super easy on a keg washer with warm water 50C or under and a bit of brewery cleaning powder.
    For the viewers commenting about the narrow opening, wait until you see our Apollo line of PET fermenters arriving soon in the US.
    Can't wait for you to try out the tap equipment! TWIST is a game changer!

      The quality was excellent but I am concerned on the U.S. Pricing in regards to being competitive. I am very excited to see Keg King products making their way into the U.S. market. Hopefully this (3 day) weekend I'll be able to have time to do some testing of the taps and work to get those videos out soon. I love the twist tap concept, especially with everyone copying each other, it is nice to see a company rethinking a concept and being original with their approach.

      @@BitterRealityBrewing Chubby and our Junior fermenters are what we consider entry level pressure fermentation products that are more affordable. The idea was always to try and get more brewers to see for themselves how they can ditch the buckets and get a higher level of control but shipping costs play a major factor in that US price tag. Our tanks are individually tested, Australian Made, not brittle Chinese exports. Brewers get to the final product faster, see all the fermentation action and easily perform closed transfers, which is one of the greatest benefits besides carbonating in the fermenter. We even have temp coils and other accessories for these though not available in the US just yet. Chubby is a great way to experience pressure fermentation. But the highest evolution of our original Fermentasaurus P.E.T. pressure fermenters is our new Apollo line of P.E.T. fermenters and unitanks. Expect these to be available in the US soon. And yes, you can get your arm into Apollo fermenters.

      @@Keg-King I'm excited and looking forward to seeing more Keg King products. My day job is as a Network Engineer supporting many of the U.S. Port facilities in the South East of the U.S., and we are seeing large imports of PET Chips from South Korea. I was wondering if Keg King could license a company in the U.S. or Mexico to reproduce the fermentation containers to help reduce overall shipping costs while you could still import smaller products like the lids and SS parts. Thinking that could help shave off a lot of the shipping costs as I know you get nailed more for the size of the container versus the actual weights. Just a thought, as I'm very well known for not thinking inside that famous and/or infamous thing known as a box.

    I really like this fermenter it has a small open that prevents the user from scrubbing the interior and scratching it. I accidently melted my first one a little bit and was promptly given a new one by Keg King. The guys at Keg King are the Kings of quality and service and also innovation I had a tour of their manufacturing plant as well as their warehouse. So glad you are able to get Keg King products through Anvil, very nice, looking forward to your reviews on the tap and other bits.

      Agreed, as mine came pre-crushed (Really badly) by UPS, and with a little pressure, it popped right out and looks almost new again. I've had too many discussions with my local UPS shipping company, and they are idiots. Sadly, most companies use them for large boxes based on costs. I am very happy to see them in the U.S., and I have two of their beer taps that I will be doing reviews on in the near future. Love the new flow control concept, but sadly haven't had time to test it yet.

      Keg King and Anvil (aka Blichmann) appear to only struck a deal late last year so this is relatively new at least in the N America areas.

    • @BitterRealityBrewing
      @BitterRealityBrewing  Před rokem

      I fully understand. I like both but for very different reasons and believe that long-term, more people will be looking for the larger openings, at least in homebrewing. I know in wine making, they like smaller openings to reduce total air exposure to the surface area. I do like the lack of straps and the SS parts, plus the width being a bit more narrow.

    I agree with others about wanting the top larger. The price point currently in the US is 149. Not bad, however, the stainless bucket from Anvil is 169.00 which is only 20 more however it is less versatile. Also in the running, which you have demoed before is the Fermzilla All Rounder. That kit is currently on sale now at MoreBeer for 123.99 (regular price is 153.99).

    • @BitterRealityBrewing
      @BitterRealityBrewing  Před rokem +1

      I think the opening isn't a deal breaker for everyone, but I am a little concerned about the price and being competitive at the current price point. I think shipping from AU is increasing the costs (as it would be shipped based on size and not weight which hurts), but the U.S. imports tons of PET chips/pellets from S Korea, and the fermenter could be reproduced here to cut costs and help lower the price in my personal opinion, which I will share with Anvil, but I'm not sure if they are ready for something so drastic. I'm an IT guy that works for a ton of ports throughout the SE of the U.S. and see tons of raw PET coming into the states.

  • @codebowl

    If only the top was larger so I could get my hand in there to clean, I think that is the only drawback to this that is leading me to keep saving for a fermzilla pressure setup.

      @BitterRealityBrewing  Před rokem +1

      @BitterRealityBrewing  Před rokem +1

      Yeah, I saw that Blichmann quit listing it. There was a problem with importing it that caused the prices to be very high on this product. Not sure if things will change, but I recommended to KegKing to license a company here in the U.S. to create the PET container part and ship the parts for it. The U.S. imports a huge amount of PET chips from S Korea for producing bottles and other products. (I work as an IT person in the port industry, so I see a ton of stuff being imported from around the world.)
