    7:21 I don’t remember the first keyboard I had from an actual computer but I remember that it was a Windows 98 machines that eventually upgraded to XP. I don’t remember if the keyboard was from Compaq or Gateway/HP. It was a fully-featured desktop PC (that came with a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speakers).
    Also, I don’t mind the “bezel” look of the Air75. I prefer it over the Keychron “borderless” style.

    @ThatMarkGilroy quick question for you, does the backlight of the black V2 match the brightness levels of the V1. I received the black V2 from the discord giveaway and while comparing the backlight to that of the V1, I noticed that the black V2 at max brightness is only comparable to the level one brightness of the V1. Others on the discord channel report then ionic white V2 to be brighter than the V1.

    • @ThatMarkGilroy
      @ThatMarkGilroy  Před 9 měsíci

      I think they’d be right - I have the ionic white Air 96 and it seems brighter than this. The key (!) difference is that I wasn’t able to test the shinethrough keycaps- these should level the playing field if you prefer the darker look of the basalt black option.

    • @gousheeg798
      @gousheeg798 Před 9 měsíci

      @@ThatMarkGilroy thanks for checking, I get that black absorbs light and it could be a reason why the keyboard looks dimmer but then comparing just the sidelights of the V1 and V2 shows the V2 is much dimmer so I was concerned if it’s a manufacturing issue. Hopefully the shine through caps help. Cheers

If you're going for the V2 and you go with Wisteria switches you can expect it to be even quieter than the V1 set I show in this video as you'll have the benefit of the added dampening in the V2 board too. Hi! There’s a comparison table right at the bottom of the Nuphy product page (linked in description).
      It’s not just the plate that’s new in the board makeup. The board has PCB IXPE plus silicone under the space bar which does give it quite a different feel to type on and sound absorption compared to V1. If you have the V1 switches you’ll also notice a difference as the 2.0 switches have different springs and are pre lubed.
      But, if you’re just after the new switches, you can buy a new set for the V1.

      Unclear. Apparently it’s on the roadmap but no firm timeline. For now, having VIA means you can map an ISO layout to the keyboard as is (it’s how I’ve set mine up in UK ISO format). The only catch is the key sizes on ISO.

      @ThatMarkGilroy  Před 9 měsíci

      Sorry, no. Based on RTINGS V1 tests you can expect Around 1-2ms over wireless 2.4gz for V2. And close to zero over wired. This is rapid for this kind of all rounder board, but if you need even lower latency, check out their Field 75 which is their dedicated gaming keyboard

Simply put, qmk does not support globe key. @@ThatMarkGilroy Yes, you can use the capslock as the globe key but it is far from ideal because then you loose the capslock. The only option left is to use some third-party key mapping software like karbiner. But it needs to install its kernel modules, which personally I do not like. For nuphy, I guess 2.4g may/should work with the patched qmk firmware though.
