    Purpose: This study analyzes the level of parental involvement and its impact on the academic performance among Senior High School students of Tanza National Trade School.
    Design/methodology/approach: The descriptive method of research was utilized. The subjects of this study were the students from two sections in senior high school. Each participant was asked to complete a questionnaire booklet that contained self-report measures of parental involvement and self-reported academic motivation.
    Findings: Findings showed that academic parental involvement affected students’ academic motivation. Results indicated no significant impact on extracurricular parental involvement in the academic motivation of the students.
    Research limitations/implications: The respondents to the study were the 71 students from the senior high school of Tanza National Trade School.
    Originality/value: This study helps the learners, teachers, and administrators to develop an intervention program regarding the effectiveness of parental involvement in school.
