This performance is 100% the best female vocal performance I’ve ever seen in my life. Some tidbits: she made that top hat herself, out of a towel. She also added that last line “keep ‘em close to you, keep your keys in your knuckles like I have to,” when she was experimenting with the piano arrangement with her pianist, because this is a very different performance than the live version of the song.
I wish you would have talked even more than you did about her staccato movements and her choices about how she built the song up from section to section! She made SO many sharp decisions in both vocal and physical performance!
Can’t wait for you to react both Little Girl Gone (official)-which is fucking amazing in the first place!- and the second version, Little Girl Gone Requiem Live, which she released after the first as a response to how fucking really strongly women were responding to the OG version-she wanted to release a version that reflected the seriousness and the real rage that women resonated with when listening to the OG/official version, and man she killed it. Like this, minimal musical and visual background, mega vocal and performance factors.
I think she might be a genius.
Also, i’lll add that your inclusion of her visuals from Cold Water in the thumbnail instead of this piece could make some folks skip this reaction, when they are looking for a Fingers Live reaction.

This performance always gives me goosebumps! I love seeing when reactors get the subtleties in the performance and can appreciate the amazingness that is Chinchilla.
If you liked this one, you must check out her Little Girl Gone live requiem. It is beyond anything I’ve seen her do so far and showcases her voice like you wouldn’t believe. Do the official video first though, because it’s fun and makes you want to fight the patriarchy lol. The live version is much darker though and really brings forth the message of the song.

She is FIRE! I'll echo other recommendations for Little Girl Gone, and I also really like Elements.
You could play that video muted and know EXACTLY what she was singing about. I heard her in an interview saying she wrote this song thinking about an ex and Sweeney Todd. Try LITTLE GIRL GONE LIVE (REQUIEM), although you might try the official music video first for comparison and ELEMENTS, for which she should win an award for Best Acting Performance in a Lyric Video. (Loved your reaction!)

I just love the production of this video. Chinchilla is bringing the vibe of old Clara Bow or jean Harlow, Marlene Dietrich ..her movement are reminiscent of the old Kinetoscope films. She's really amazing. You should definitely do more. He live performances are amazing and very different than the produced versions of the songs. Little Girl Gone is a favorite both live and produced. Like Ren, she is independent and produces her own music. Her production is also very cool.
