Skipped over the Woodmizer and bought a Timber King because the only models offered by Woodmizer at that time were cantilevered and had NO stability on the side opposite the motor. Now they have improved the design to a two-post system but you cannot beat a 4-post!
Lot of negative comments here. Sure, they slabbed off a little heavy and wasted some lumber. But they're new and they're learning. And, they're having a ball. God bless 'em and keep on sawing. BTW, 25 year Woodmizer veteran.

As they say the only difference between the men and the boys is the price of thier toys. case and point this gentleman with the lt15 on the ground sawmill. he chose not to get the.trailering package that raises the machine up to roughly waist level. on the ground your roll up a log a very short ramp. with the trailer package you have to roll your log up the ramps to the log deck or do something else. sometimes you want to have it low. and sometimes waist height is the cats meow. some times with an lt15 it can be a manual crank some like it with automatic powered feed differ purchase costs and features. i am a tad older and bought a brand factory pickup lt 40 manual (non hydraulic cantileavered head my wood mizer is was purchased 33 years ago at a cost of about 10 grand. there have been continuous improvements.....
A kid with his new toy is the best that I can say for this video. Suggestion, Go to the nearest Wood-Mizer dealer and have them teach you the basics of sawmilling before you either break a bone or injure your spine. You may even learn how to make appropriate cuts to save lumber and find out what a cant hook is.
i find it alot easier to use a 2 ft cant hook to turn the logs and cants. How you like this machine? we have the normal 15 and the 40 hydralic and love them both

This was painful to watch. Every time you made a cut you threw away a two by ten. It seemed like you threw out about a third of the log. Or does the camera show things differently? All the best..
Anthony Wernette. Well, if a board foot of lumber sells for much more than a few pieces of firewood, I would tend to rethink the economics of that statement.
That was painful to watch. I would never own one of these without getting the full hydraulic turner and clamps. Also I know its been beat to death, but you just wasted 4 boards on that first log.

Why did you throw away two boards in each of the 4 slabs? That is a waste of several board feet of lumber -- 32 to 45 ft -- $12 to $18. That is a lot of money for an 8 foot short log, very inefficient! 20 to 25 logs per day equals $240 to $450!!!!!!! One 4 day week equals $960 to $1800 waste!!!!!! If it's shorter than my 8ft estimate, and it might be, divide my dollar amounts by 8 and multiply by the correct length, still a LOT of money! Please, carefully calculate this dollar amount you've discarded. If you burn it for firewood, that is 5 to 8 times what a comparable trailer size of firewood would cost!!!!! Does it have power feed? And how long does the blades last y'all? I'm looking buying one this summer.

It is a nice machine but it is just a little more than I want to spend.. I have found another for abour half that.

There are not many bandsaw mills that will cut a 36" wide slab at this price point, or even 2 or 3 times this price.
