- Mr T has been out and about more than usual this year. Exbury Garden Railway is narrow gauge railway in the new forest. its worth a trip...so sit back and enjoy this one.....
Hi Tony! I've skipped ahead to comment on this! :) Wish I'd known you were down in my neck of the woods as we could have gone for a coffee and chat! I love Exbury Gardens, and have spent many a happy hour there with my dad before he passed away! Spring and autumn are the best time to go as the gardens can be quite spectacular then! What a lovely railway and a very nice 10min viewing, very serene. After 30 years in the area we did Beauli and driven by but never noticed this gem! Goodness knows how we missed it, notice there is quite a bit of track work including the turntable so must have been around for many years. What a great day out, was this part of the special treat? Hello Stephen. the ride was 20 minutes long. i think it would have been a lot better in the spring with all the Rhododendrons in bloom. the railway has not been going that long. it was 2001 the railway built. and they did a great job making it look very authentic. take care my friend. Tony.

Dear Tony, lovely train fanning reportage! Beautiful how the train meanders through the countryside. Very nice how the different vistas are populated with several statues, or statuesque forms of art. Considering those statues, was that a statue of Monty, at and around the Dragonfly Halt train stop? Cheerio
